It took millions of years for the forces of sand and sun, tides, wind and rain to create the perfect backdrop for your beach wedding. Whether you plan it yourself, or work with a consultant, you’ll be wise to consider these 21 tips for your day in the sun. By Annette Burden

Scope Out the Site 1. Avoid weekends if you’re marrying at a public beach.
Scout local policies on beach events and get a permit, if necessary. 2. Select the time of day after researching everything
from tides to temperatures to wind and setting sun. 3. Go lightly on decoration—your beach is already one
of the most gorgeous places on earth. Simple chairs, and maybe an arbor, are all you need. 4. Ensure adequate signage leading to the site. Consider
shuttle service if the beach has limited parking. 5. Designate a station where guests can leave their
shoes. Supply a bench, rubber sandals, bucket of water and towels to wipe off the sand when it’s over.
6. Provide liquid refreshments from a

Looking back, Sasha says that one of the

most memorable things from the wedding was the love everyone felt that weekend, and especially at the ceremony. “Because Indian weddings are so elaborate, sometimes the true love and emotion get lost in all the celebrations,” she says. “But the love that was felt was unquestionable and everyone who attended shared in that special feeling.”
