In a world of increasingly sophisticated technology solutions, lead generation has never been simpler and…at the same time, more complex.

Storing information is a simple click away but gathering information still requires ingenuity, skill and creativity.

ScoreApp uses a quiz-based format to generate warm leads and make sales.

The ScoreApp technology was created by CEO Steven Oddy, who ran development agency So Technology, in 2019 and is now in a period of growth and expansion.

“I ran a dev agency for around 12 years,” says Oddy, “where we used to design and build web and mobile applications for our clients.

“One particular type of project kept cropping up, essentially a quiz or an assessment that generates dynamic results and feedback, and it was a big hit amongst our entrepreneurial clients trying to generate leads and make more sales. And it was something myself and the team were also passionate about.

“We would bespoke them every time and they'd cost around £10k each. It became obvious to me that it should be a platform whereby people can set them up themselves, point and click, very quickly and with a much lower price tag. So we created a new company in 2019, raised some investment, hired a dedicated engineering team and set about building the platform. V1 officially launched to customers in summer 2020.”

Oddy stresses that ScoreApp is not a “Swiss Army Knife” solution and is only focused on sales and leads.

“We do one thing really well, as opposed to being average at lots of things. There are no doubt many other platforms out there for data collection, form builders, quiz builders etc. But we have very much focused on a specific, tried and tested, strategy around using quizzes to generate leads and make more sales.

“This really helps us with not only the platform itself but all of our helps guides, content, courses, support and marketing. So, if it’s lead generation and increasing sales that you require, you’ll dramatically increase your chances of creating a successful campaign with ScoreApp over other Swiss army knife platforms.”

The firm has adopted a “customer first” approach to developing the app, based on feedback and analytics which has led to a number of enhancements and other changes.

The app currently has around 2,600 paying subscribers with about 600 additional in trial. This year it expects to double to 5,000 and double again next year to 10,000.

Meanwhile, generative AI has exploded since the preview release of ChatGPT. The technology is expected to revolutionise many industries but certainly marketing, where generating content and ideas has historically been difficult, time consuming and high cost.

“We’re currently working hard to add this technology into the platform which will dramatically decrease the time it takes our customers to set things up,” says Oddy. “We’ve always been proud of our quick and easy to use UX but there has been no way of getting around the fact that writing things like landing pages, questions and results feedback is time consuming. Until now.”

“For the first year or so we had a long list of ‘features’ that we felt our platform had to have in order to be of high value to our customers,” explains Oddy.

“Our attitude has definitely evolved over time to focus on ensuring customers get value from the product as quickly as possible. Sometimes this even means removing features. We listen closely to customer feedback, support questions and our product analytics and really just try to focus on making things easier, quicker, and more fun.”

Adding AI functionality will be a big priority for the platform and business, with a growth target of 10,000 paying subscribers.

“Our product team has been a priority and will continue to be so, but some focus in terms of growth will shift towards sales, marketing, enterprise and partnerships.”

For sales lead generation, ScoreApp believes its quiz-based application provides the answers.
