The history of the Eliot School spans more than three centuries, its roots stretching back to Massachusetts Bay Colony. A grammar school for 200 years, it transformed into a center for manual arts in the 19th century. Today, it inspires lifelong learning in craftsmanship and creativity for people of all ages and all walks of life, holding classes in its Jamaica Plain schoolhouse and sending teachers out to public schools and community centers throughout Boston.
