Ten years after Ten years have passed since Elioth was created. Amost a seventh of a lifetime. This can also be seen as a measure of the wealth of know-how built up by our team.

What follows is a look inside the full range of projects in which Elioth has taken part, our close collaboration with our clients and the diversity of our partnerships with architectural practices.

Engineers, Designers, Inventors. We’d like to share this unique approach with you by taking you through a few of our recent achievements.

Innovation as a way of questioning constructive practices, either by simplifying them but also just by shaking things up! By bringing together, under the one roof the skills of complex structures, envelopes, energy and climate analysis, Elioth set out with a unique position among designers: offering a global innovation force combined with constructive excellence, ecological ambition and well-being.

With an appetite for research, Elioth has created strong links with the academic world, developing tools and textbooks for the teaching and the sharing of knowledge. At the same time, we have continued to publish a series of invention-manifestos which lay down road maps for a happy and welcome energy transition!

More than ever, the designer is a citizen of the world. Just as Bourbaki, sought to reformulate modern mathematics, we believe that the conjunction between the current ecological crisis and the power of numerical tools must revolutionize both the methodology and the practice of design.

Cent mille heures, c’est le septième d’une vie.

La mesure des expériences accumulées par notre collectif.

Cet ouvrage fait découvrir les réalisations auxquelles Elioth a participé, en lien étroit avec nos clients et la multitude extraordinaire de nos partenaires.

A travers ces pages, nous désirons partager la singularité de notre approche. Voici quelques concrétisations qui révèlent notre trilogie : ingénieurs, designers, inventeurs.

Innover pour interroger les pratiques constructives, parfois les simplifier mais aussi les bousculer ! En réunissant dans un même lieu, les expertises en structures complexes, en enveloppes, en énergie et en climat, Elioth a inscrit une pratique unique : proposer une force d’innovations au service de l’excellence constructive, de l’ambition écologique et du bien-être des occupants.

Un goût très prononcé pour la recherche : Elioth a tissé des liens étroits avec le monde de l’enseignement, a développé outils et ouvrages pour la pédagogie et la diffusion des savoirs. En parallèle, Elioth a fait émerger des inventionsmanifestes pour tracer une voie joyeuse et désirable pour nos transitions.

A l’instar de Bourbaki qui voulait reformuler les mathématiques modernes, nous pensons que la conjonction de l’urgence écologique et de la puissance des outils numériques révolutionnent méthodologie et pratique de la conception.

Inaugurated in September 2013, the Nice stadium Allianz Riviera will be one of the host stadiums for the Euro 2016. With the project partners, Elioth took up challenge which is innovative whether though its geometry, its constructive standpoint, or environmental ambition.

It is a key project in terms of sustainable development and technical performances: a mixed timber-steel structure with an ETFE covering, geothermal energy to produce heating and cooling, extensive use of natural ventilation, implementation of a photovoltaic power plant of 1400kWp with an area of 8500 m².

R MBE TEA by Elioth

C’est un projet phare en matière de développement durable et de performances techniques : structure mixte bois-acier avec une couverture en ETFE, la géothermie pour produire chaleur et fraîcheur, le recours massif à la ventilation naturelle et la mise en œuvre d’une centrale photovoltaïque de près de 1400 kWc et d’une surface de 8 500 m².

Inauguré en septembre 2013, le stade de Nice, l’Allianz Riviera sera l’un des stades hôtes de l’Euro 2016. Aux côtés des partenaires de projet, Elioth a relevé les défis techniques de ce stade absolument innovant par sa géométrie, son choix de parti constructif et ses attendus environnementaux.

Bibliothèque Universitaire de Rennes, 2008-2012

A joint work on geometry, structural refinement, innovation in glazing and the definition of climate and light control has developed a unique spatiality, assuring a perfect reading comfort.

Depuis 2012, la verrière de la bibliothèque universitaire de Rennes protège et accueille ses nouveaux lecteurs. Un travail sur la géométrie, la finesse structurelle, l’innovation des produits verriers a permis de développer une spatialité unique assurant un confort de lecture parfait.

Elioth ensured the full structural design of this rooflight, isostatically inserted into the existing buidling, on a rectangle of 21 meters by 27 meters.

Elioth a assuré la totalité du développement de cette couverture, s’insérant de façon isostatique dans l’existant.

The definition of the geometric area was the object of a dedicated mathematical analysis which resulted in a significant outcome for the glazed panels: all resulting glass rhombuses are flat while the overall roof glazed surface is twisted!

La définition de la surface géométrique a fait l’objet de développement mathématique dédié avec un tour de force : l’ensemble des losanges verriers sont plans tandis que la surface globale de la verrière est gauche !

Since 2012, the glass roof of the Rennes’ University Library protects and welcomes new readers.

Artem, 2005-2013

In 2013, Elioth delivered the first part of the Artem gallery, in Nancy.

A street covered with colored glass, supported by a steel origami.

In designing the metal structure and the details of the shell, Elioth worked in perfecting the thermal passivity of this urban space buffer, a new generation of temperate greenhouse.

Create a ‘permanent spring season in Nancy,’ without the use of mechanical equipment. Since this time, Elioth has continued to analyze the results of the Canadian wells it had developed. These air-ground heat exchangers ensure, both freely and ecologically, the climate treatment of the covered street.

En 2013, Elioth livre les deux premières tranches de la galerie Artem à Nancy. Une rue couverte par des vitrages colorés, portés par un origami d’acier. En concevant la structure métallique et les détails de l’enveloppe, Elioth a œuvré à parfaire la passivité thermique de cet espace tampon urbain, une serre tempérée de nouvelle génération. Créer un « printemps permanent à Nancy », sans recours à des artifices techniques.

Depuis cette date, Elioth analyse les résultats des puits canadiens qu’il a conçus. Ces échangeurs air-sol assurent de façon gratuite et écologique le traitement climatique de la rue couverte.

Elioth assisted the project team on the structural frame, the envelope and the environmental studies up to project completion in October 2014.

Due to its geometry and size this was a highly complex project and gave Elioth the opportunity to implement large scale geometrical modelling tools which were combined with finite element calculation software.

Beyond the tools, the combined design of the frame with the envelope allowed us to complete a building whose structural design fully reveals the architectural intent while guaranteeing optimization with a special emphasis on lightweight fine-tuning.

Vélodrome de Marseille 2009-2014 Elioth a accompagné le groupement sur les questions de charpente, de couverture et sur les études environnementales jusqu’à l’achèvement du projet en octobre 2014.

Ce projet hautement complexe par sa forme géométrique et par ses dimensions générales aura été l’occasion pour Elioth de mettre en oeuvre à grande échelle des outils de modélisation

géométrique paramétrique en lien avec des logiciels de calcul aux éléments finis.

Cette conception de la charpente et de l’enveloppe a permis la réalisation d’un ouvrage dont le design structurel révèle le parti architectural tout en étant parfaitement optimisé, avec une recherche pointue de légèreté et de confort.

Wind-it, depuis 2007

Wind-it, an invention that Elioth has nourished since 2007 and which is now coming to life. And what if it took 70,000 hours to go from an idea to something concrete? When it comes to inventions, Elioth has learned that patience is a virtue.

In 2009, alongside the architects of Encore Heureux, Elioth was awarded the Next Generation prize

by Metropolis, in New York for these electricity pylons which incorporate vertical axis wind turbines. In 2010 we set off to Bhutan to dig deeper into these theories...

It takes a long time to convince, to eliminate the false leads and to find the right partners to develop the idea. Wind-it, first and foremost is the pooling of Elioth’s know-how: geometry, structure and renewable energies. Understanding the stakes which allow us to reinvent and solve new cost-effective solutions for vertical axis wind turbines.

In 2014, the Wind-it company was established. It is currently developing and proposing a whole new field for telecommunications which result in significant energy savings while foreseeing new rural electrification possibilities, 100% renewable.

At the end of 2014, a 50-meter tower was commissioned which incorporates three vertical axis wind turbines. Elioth, inventor of a new business model.

Et s’il fallait 70 000 heures pour passer du concept au concret ?

Pour les inventions, Elioth a appris la patience.

En 2009, Elioth reçoit à New-York avec les architectes d’Encore Heureux le prix Next Generation par Metropolis pour ses pylones électriques incorporant des éoliennes à axe vertical. En 2010, nous allons au Bouthan pour creuser plus avant cette hypothèse…

Il faut beaucoup de temps pour convaincre, évacuer les fausses pistes et trouver les bons partenaires pour développer l’idée.

Wind-it, c’est d’abord la réunion des savoir-faire d’Elioth : géométrie, structure et énergies renouvelables. Comprendre les enjeux qui permettent de redessiner et solutionner de nouvelles perspectives économiquement rentables pour les éoliennes à axe vertical.

En 2014, la société Wind-it est créée avec d’autres partenaires.

Elle développe et propose une nouvelle tour pour les télécommunications permettant des économies d’énergie importantes tout en préfigurant de nouvelles solutions d’électrification rurale 100% renouvelable.

Fin 2014, une tour de 50 mètres est livrée et elle intègre trois éoliennes à axe vertical. Elioth, inventeur de nouveaux business.

Elioth is a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, designers, graphic designers and datascientists, involved in consulting and innovative design.

Elioth focuses its specialized expertise on complex structures and geometries, on façade engineering as well within a dedicated program which deals with the energy, climate and environmental challenges at both the scale of the building and of the city.

This unique gathering of knowledge not only sums up our desire to bring together all the technical and creative skills close to architecture and design, as a concentration of the scientific knowledge which can affect the ecological footprint of any project at any scale. It allows us to offer our clients and partners extremely innovative and realistic global solutions.

The foundations of Elioth are: Being a proactive force, bringing innovation into projects. Elioth is a think tank which gets involved right from the initial sketches up to the final delivery ... and which ensures operational performance!

Passerelle Fournier, Tours / Fournier Gateway, Tours, France

PASSERELLE DE

Deux bow-strings de 60 m de portée chacun s’élancent au-dessus du faisceau de voies desservant la gare centrale de Tours. Isostatiques et garants de légèreté, ils permettent le levage de chaque travée en une nuit, avec consignation minimale des voies. Seule la pile centrale de l’ouvrage est réalisée dans l’emprise des voies.

Two 60m span bow-strings soar above the railway lines which serve Tours Central Station.

Isostatic and guarantors of lightness, they allowed us to lift each span in a single night, with minimal impact to the railway traffic. Only the central support of the bridge was built within the track area.

Passerelle de la ZAC Claude Bernard, Paris / ZAC Claude Bernard’s footbridge, Paris Elioth a réalisé les études d’exécution et la production d’un modèle 3D détaillé de la charpente métallique et de l’habillage bois. La maitrise de cet ouvrage complexe a nécessité le développement d’un modèle paramétrique permettant de dessiner la structure et les bardages bois jusque dans leurs moindres détails. Non-répétitivité des pièces, comportement dynamique complexe et phasage contraignant sont autant de sujets qui ont mobilisé l’expertise d’Elioth.

Elioth carried out the design studies and the production of a detailed 3D model of the steel frame and of the timber cladding. The complexity of this piece required us to develop a parametric model which determined the elements of the structure and the timber cladding down to their smallest details. Non-repetitive components, complex dynamic behavior and restricted phasing are subjects that have mobilized all of Elioth’s expertise.

This is the only sports center of its size which offers a mixed timber-steel structure! This three-dimensional envelope puts 3100m3 of timber to work, which means 18 500 meters of glulam with well-groomed details!

Allianz Riviera, stade de Nice / Nice Stadium C’est la seule enceinte sportive de cette ampleur proposant une structure mixte bois-acier ! Cette nappe tridimensionnelle met en œuvre 3100m3 de bois soit 18500 mètres de lamellécollé avec des détails très soignés !

Revolution, Rennes Elioth a accompagné l’artiste canadien Michel de Broin dans le dessin de cet escalier monumental pour la Biennale d’art contemporain de Rennes.

Elioth joined up with the Canadian artist Michel de Broin in the design of this monumental staircase for the Contemporary Art Biennial in Rennes.

Aéroport de Djeddah / Jeddah Airport Elioth a collaboré à ce projet pour porter la capacité de l’aéroport à 80 millions de passagers ! Nos études ont permis de valider la faisabilité de cette charpente à double courbure de plus de 60000 m².

Elioth collaborated on this project to increase the airport’s capacity up to 80 million passengers! Our studies allowed validating the feasibility of this double curvature frame of over 60,000 m².

Stade du 5 juillet, Alger / 5 July Stadium, Alger Ce stade, inauguré en 1972, a accueilli jusqu’à 110 000 spectateurs ! Elioth participe à l’esquisse pour la rénovation et la couverture de ce stade d’envergure continentale.

This stadium, opened in 1972, has hosted up to 110,000 spectators! Elioth took part in the sketch design phase for the renovation and for the roof envelope of this continental scale stadium.

Stade de la Fédération Française de Rugby, Evry / French Rugby Federation Stadium, Evry Cette «citadelle» pourra accueillir 82 000 personnes dès 2020. Elioth a remporté ce concours aux côtés de Populous, en proposant une conception innovante pour les 75 000 m² de toiture qui reposent sur un anneau de câbles : un beau clin d’œil au monde de l’ovalie !

This ‘citadel’ will be able to accommodate 82,000 people by 2020. Elioth won the competition alongside Populous with proposals for an innovative design for the 75,000 m² of roof supported by a cable ring structure: a nod to the world of the oval ball!

Vincent Vincent is a façade engineer project manager at Elioth. He is an engineer-architect and works alongside within the envelope department.

Façades and roofs are the skins of buildings. They occupy the realm between architectural ornament, regulation and control of the environment and the intrinsic sobriety of the building: a frontier of tension and high stakes!

By consolidating the knowledge and experience of our façades engineers in a unique way, Elioth developes innovative solutions that allow for natural ventilation while developing highly effective solar protection.

The detailed knowledge of materials and products enables a bold approach to construction: structural glass, large span façades, double-skins etc. In this vein, Elioth developed an ETFE skin for the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice.

By putting the ecological and energetic issues at the center of our approach, Elioth has also developed an expertise in envelope techniques using bio-sourced materials.

By decompartmentalizing its expertise, Elioth opens its simulation capacities to the world of the façade: surface parametrical models which work to optimize natural day-lighting, evolutionary algorithms which determine the optimal geometry of a solar protection, thermal-aeraulic simulations to optimize airflow via openings…

Elioth a relevé ce challenge avec brio sur cette façade en vitrage extérieur collé, tout en assurant en parallèle la conception du « tube inox » reliant les deux ailes du bâtiment.

How to make fixed and opening components without it showing? Elioth was happy to take up the challenge on this external structural glazed facade, while integrating in parallel, the ‘steel tube’ bridge design which connected the two wings of the building.

Euravenir, Lille Ce projet marque l’achèvement de la ZAC Euralille. Elioth a assuré les études et la conception des façades vitrées et du bardage métallique.

This project marks the completion of the ZAC Euralille. Elioth carried out the studies and the design for the glazed façades and the metal cladding.

Bibliothèque Caen la Mer / Library, Caen La mer, France Étude et conception de la façade de l’espace de consultation composée de vitrages complexes en verre structurel de grande hauteur et bombé. Cet ouvrage spécial, inédit en France, constitue un véritable défi technique et architectural permettant de renforcer l’unité de la façade, gagner en transparence ainsi qu’en surface intérieure disponible grâce à la suppression des raidisseurs en verre.

Study and design of the reading room façade, composed of large scale, curved structural glazing. The technical and architectural challenges made this a project a ‘first’ for France. This rare project, a first in France, is a real technical and architectural challenge allowing façade’s unity to be strengthened, gaining not only in transparency but also in the remaining internal surface area. The innovation here was in using the geometry of the curve in the glass as structural depth.

Sa conception environnementale a été récompensée en 2012 par un BREEAM Award, catégorie meilleure performance à l’international.

Résilis, 2009-2013 Un programme de l’Agence Nationale de la Recherche auquel Elioth a participé en explorant plus particulièrement les incidences du changement climatique sur la demande énergétique du bâti et le confort urbain. Le guide d’Interactions Energie-Climat, volume 2 diffuse ces résultats de recherche. Attention, la vitesse de transformation des tissus urbains est lente : il est d’autant plus urgent de réagir !

A program of the National Research Agency in which Elioth participated specifically in the exploration of the impact of climate change on the energy demand of buildings and urban comfort. Part-Dieu district, Lyon, 2012-2015 Systemic study of the Part-Dieu district’s evolution, in Lyon, consisting of analyzing existing elements and their characteristic magnitudes, (energy consumption, water consumption, waste production) in order to evaluate the establishment of their reduction. The tool which was implemented, allows us to predict estimations for needs/ consumption thus identifying possible deposits on the digital map database and to underline potential.

Elioth has had several productive collaborations with young designer’s practices. Elioth participated in the exhibition ‘So Watt’s design in Energy’ by presenting Wind-it with the firm Encore Heureux.

Our scientific and technical culture and our taste for invention – sometimes as a form of provocation - have led us to investigate a poorly explored field: the capacity that infrastructure has for reducing or even producing energy. For the last couple of years, Elioth has also been developing innovations - some patented – of its own, those of Positive Infrastructure (Solar Mountains, Wind-it, Urban Thermal Batteries, Cellter ...)

At the other end of the spectrum, our team is particularly attentive to the issue of use, particularly through our energy efficiency activities. For instance, our team develops PacoAx, a patented device to improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings. Elioth also uses a variety of tools and simulations (some developed in-house, such as ClimElioth) which allows a user to put her/himself at the heart of the energy and climate issue. Also, we have the intuition that the scale of the object will sometimes be better at reducing its energy footprint than the architecture.

Design prospectif Elioth a entamé depuis plusieurs années des collaborations productives avec des jeunes agences de designers. Elioth avait en particulier participé à l’exposition « So Watt, du design dans l’énergie » en présentant Wind-it avec l’agence Encore Heureux.

Notre culture scientifique et technique et notre goût de l’invention - voire d’une forme de provocation - nous ont conduit à investiguer un champ faiblement exploré : la capacité des infrastructures à réduire, voire à produire de l’énergie. Aussi, Elioth développe depuis quelques années des innovations - dont certaines brevetées - qui lui sont propres, celles des Infrastructures Positives (Montagnes solaires, Wind-it, Piles Thermiques Urbaines, Cellter ...) À l’autre extrémité spatiale, notre équipe nourrit une attention particulière sur la question de l’usage via notamment nos activités d’efficacité énergétique. Notre équipe développe par exemple Pacoax, un dispositif breveté pour améliorer l’efficacité énergétique des bâtiments existants.

Le Démon de Maxwell The Maxwell’s Demon is an innovation designed and developed by Elioth to ensure self-production and energy storage in any situation. Its technical architecture is perfectly adaptable not only to the needs but also to the context of integration. 169 Architecture has a lot of ideas for possible evolutions of this principle.

Wind-it En 2007, le concept Wind-it proposait de superposer un réseau d’éoliennes au réseau de transport et de distribution de l’électricité, soit en venant greffer un « plug-éolien ».

Ce projet a fait l’objet de dépôts de brevet.

Depuis 2013, le développement de cette architecture prometteuse d’aérogénérateur se concentre sur les réseaux télécom. En 2014, une start-up dédiée a été créée pour accélérer le développement du produit.

Les Montagnes Solaires In 2006, Elioth benefited from Oseo’s support to develop this patented invention. Since then, a Solar Mountain was born in Chile, and Elioth has taken the time to integrate the lessons learned from studying forced solar convection and thermal buoyancy and how this can be applied also ... in buildings!

The Solar Mountains are now an open source project for production of electricity and biomass in the most remote mountainous landscapes.

Alice is an engineer of environmental design and urban engineering and joined the Elioth’s team four years ago. Alice has also carried out the development of the decision-support tools for the ‘Impetus’ project (ANR research program: Sustainable City).

And over the next decade ?

‘Parametric design is at the heart of our business. Making environmental, thermal, visual, sensory themes parametrically interact between themselves will allow us more and more to fine-tune a user’s comfort in the buildings we design.’

Alice est ingénieure en conception environnementale et genie urbain et a rejoint l’équipe d’Elioth il y a quatre ans. Alice a par ailleurs porté le développement de l’outil d’aide à la décision pour le projet Impetus (programme de recherche Ville Durable de l’ANR).

The Clim’Elioth, in continual development since 2005, will arrive at a fully proprietary version by 2015, allowing a complete simulation of the positive energy building.

Our favorite subjects? Participating in the research effort on climate and energy issues and on the adaptation to climate change at different spatial and temporal scales. Producing energy demand evolution scenarios, analysing the impact of renewable energy developments…

Projet Reforme, programme Ignis Mutat Res, 2011-2013 Elioth était responsable scientifique de l’équipe Reforme, partie prenante de la première session du programme interministériel Ignis Mutat Res. Le projet Reforme interroge le lien entre densité et énergie. L’un des livrable est une plateforme web de simulation des scénarios de transition énergétique.

L’utilisateur peut simuler le comportement énergétique des territoires jusqu’en 2050.

A chaque pas de temps, l’utilisateur de l’outil peut constater : l’offre énergétique renouvelable (le niveau de solarisation du territoire) ; l’état de son stock et la demande énergétique. One of the deliverables is a web platform for simulating energy transition scenarios.

Impetus, ANR, 20112014 Elioth a pris part à la recherche Impetus dans le cadre du programme Villes Durables de l’ANR. Elioth a en particulier élaboré un outil d’aide à la décision autour de la dimension bâti-transport et permettant d’objectiver les échanges entre les différentes parties prenantes d’un projet d’aménagement urbain.

Clim’Elioth provides the visibility of multiple architectural and technical solutions of the project from an energy-climate point of view.

We are also developing climate resilience approaches by testing the climate and energy behavior of buildings up to 2050 and 2100.

Engineer from the Ecole Polytechnique (X94), civil engineer from the Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées (1999) and certified architect (2003). He began his professional activity in RFR, working specifically on the Simone de Beauvoir footbridge in Paris (especially in solving vibration problems) and on the glass roof design for the Strasbourg High Speed rail station (geometry and static diagram).

Ingénieur de l’Ecole Polytechnique (X94), ingénieur civil des Ponts et Chaussées (1999) et architecte DPLG (2003). Il débute son activité professionnelle chez RFR en travaillant notamment sur les projets de la passerelle Simone de Beauvoir à Paris (en particulier sur la résolution des problèmes vibratoires) et la conception de la verrière de la gare de Strasbourg (géométrie et schéma statique).

In 2003, he founded Elioth. Since 2011, Raphael is also the Prospective director of the Egis Group and ensures the co-management of the consulting-innovation-design branch. Since 2014, he is a member of Wind-it SAS and 169 architecture.

Sébastien DUPRAT Ingénieur chimiste et Environnementaliste / Chemical and Environment Engineer

After studying environmentally applied biology and chemistry, Sébastien Duprat became a university engineer on environmental issues and internal atmospheric quality.

In 2001, he joined the British company Flomerics to develop business and consulting on ventilation and control of air quality and computational fluid mechanics issues.

10 years ago, he joined Elioth. At first as an Engineer in the young team he quickly took on the role of deputy director alongside Raphael Ménard and, 5 years later, he became one of the three directors as part of the new organization which celebrated the arrival of François Consigny. He manages the coordination of energy and environment activities.

He has collaborated on projects such as Majunga or Triangle, La Défense Ministry in Balard and the development of eco-districts in Sweden (Nya Arstafaltet) or new territories for the group (Russia, Monaco). For the last few years he has actively contributed to major sports projects in France, (Le Havre, Bordeaux, Nice stadiums and the future French Rugby Federation stadium).

Après des études de Biologie et de Chimie appliquées à l’environnement, Sébastien Duprat devient ingénieur universitaire sur les questions d’environnement et de qualité des atmosphères intérieures.

En 2001, il intègre la société britannique Flomerics afin de développer une activité d’expertise et de conseil sur les questions de ventilation et de maitrise de la qualité de l’air et de mécanique des fluides numériques.

Voilà 10 ans, il rejoint Elioth. D’abord ingénieur dans cette jeune équipe, il prend rapidement le poste de directeur adjoint aux côtés de Raphael Ménard et depuis 5 ans de directeur délégué dans le cadre d’une nouvelle organisation célébrant l’arrivée de François Consigny dans ce trio de direction. Il assure alors la coordination des activités d’énergie et d’environnement.

Il a notamment collaboré aux projets des tours Majunga ou Triangle, au Ministère de la Défense à Balard et au développement d’écoquartiers en Suède (Nya Arstafaltet) ou aux villes nouvelles à l’export (Russie, Monaco). Ces dernières années, il a activement contribué aux grands projets sportifs sur le territoire national (stade du Havre, de Bordeaux, Nice et le projet de grand stade de la FFR).

Certified architect (1987, School of Architecture Paris-Villemin), Master of Science (1988, University Paris 7) and civil engineer at Ponts et Chaussées. He began his professional career at RFR as an engineer and then as Technical and Project Director. In 2001, he joined the Aéroports de Paris’ Department of Engineering and Architecture as chief engineer of buildings. He has managed several major projects (Satellitte 4, Terminal 2E’s reconstruction ...). He left ADP in 2008 to become a director at Elioth, in charge of the complex structures and façades engineering teams.

He notably led the teams responsible for designing the roof and envelope structures within the PPP for the Velodrome renovation, the new Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice, the renovation design-and-build project for the Geoffroy Guichard stadium in Saint Etienne.

He currently leads the structural steelwork and mobile roof team for the French Rugby Federation stadium Evry.

Passionate by collective sports (especially football, he is still in activity today, after 22 seasons as a goalkeeper in the Orange corporate football team), it is always with enthusiasm that he puts his knowledge to use in the large scale project teams. «More gray matter for less grey energy» could be one of the slogans which illustrate his career, focused on lightweight structural engineering and high-performance complex structures (combining architecture, solidity and responsibility).

Architecte D.P.L.G. (1987, Ecole d’Architecture Paris-Villemin), Maître ès Sciences (1988, l’Université Paris 7) et ingénieur civil des Ponts et Chaussées (1991).

Il a commencé sa carrière professionnelle chez RFR en tant qu’ingénieur puis Directeur Technique et de Projet. En 2001, il a rejoint la Direction de l’Ingénierie et d’Architecture des Aéroports de Paris comme ingénieur en chef bâtiment. Il y a exercé la fonction de maître d’œuvre de plusieurs grands projets (Satellitte 4, reconstruction du Terminal 2E…). Il a quitté ADP en 2008 pour devenir Directeur délégué d’Elioth, en charge des équipes structures complexes et de l’ingénierie des façades.

Il y a assuré notamment la direction des équipes responsables de la conception des structures de couverture et de l’enveloppe dans le cadre des PPP de la restructuration du stade vélodrome, du nouveau stade de l’Allianz Riviera à Nice, du projet de rénovation en conception construction du stade Geoffroy Guichard à St Etienne et dirige actuellement la conception de la charpente et sa toiture amovible du futur grand stade de la FFR à Evry.

Passionné du sport collectif (et plus particulièrement de Football, il est encore en activité aujourd’hui après 22 saisons dans l’équipe de football d’entreprise d’Orange comme gardien de but) c’est toujours avec enthousiasme qu’il met son expertise au service des équipes de conception des grands ouvrages. « Plus de matière grise pour moins d’énergie grise » pourrait être l’un des slogans illustrant sa carrière au service de l’ingénierie des structures légères et des ouvrages complexes performants (alliant architecture, solidité et responsabilité).
