Ways to Give

Gifts That Cost Nothing Now These gifts let you maintain full control of your assets during your lifetime while leaving a lasting impact after you're gone.

Bequests in Your Will or Living Trust Include a gift to EMC in your estate plan. This can be a specific amount, percentage, or the remainder of your estate.

Beneficiary Designations Name EMC as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, bank account, brokerage account, or life insurance policy. These gifts are easy to set up and can be changed at any time.

Benefit: Simple to arrange, revocable, and avoids probate.

Gifts of Assets Turn non-cash assets into powerful support for EMC—often with significant tax advantages.

Appreciated Securities (Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds) Donating appreciated assets directly can help you avoid capital gains tax while supporting EMC. Real Estate Gifts of homes, land, or commercial property are welcome, subject to EMC’s review and approval. We’ll work with you to ensure the property aligns with our gift acceptance policies.

Tangible Personal Property We may accept items such as art, instruments, or collectibles (typically valued at $1,000 or more), provided they are salable and don’t require special care or storage.

Cryptocurrency EMC accepts gifts of cryptocurrency. Gifts are converted immediately to U.S. dollars and are non-refundable.

Gifts That Pay You Back These planned giving options allow you to support EMC while receiving regular income during your lifetime.

Charitable Gift Annuities In exchange for a gift of cash or securities (minimum $10,000), you or a loved one receive fixed payments for life. Remaining funds benefit EMC. Charitable Remainder Trusts Transfer assets into a trust that pays income to you or a beneficiary for life or a set term. The remainder supports EMC’s mission.

Benefit: Reliable income, potential tax deduction, and meaningful impact.

Gifts That Involve Property You Keep During Life Life Estate Gifts Donate your home or farm but retain the right to live there for the rest of your life. Upon your passing, EMC receives the property.

Benefit: Immediate tax deduction, no disruption to your current living situation.

Naming Opportunities Planned gifts may offer the chance to dedicate a program, concert, or initiative in your name or the name of a loved one.

EMC generally reserves naming opportunities for current gifts, but legacy recognition may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
