Phase Technologies is going head-to-head with billion-dollar, multinational companies like GE, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, and Yaskawa. These companies have more than 40 years of experience on the Rapid City-based power electronics manufacturer, but they aren’t letting that stop them.

Since its founding in 1999 Phase Technologies has had four locations, the most recent expansion to 222 Disk Drive is seven times the size of their previous location. Quickly filling the 225,000 square foot facility, they have grown their staff from 64 to 139 in 2021 alone.

Behind those numbers is the real investment in community and growth. Average wages have increased 23%. Their five-year growth plan is expected to add 350 additional full-time jobs to Rapid City bringing the full-time employee count north of 500 personnel. Additionally, they plan to roll out five new product lines within the next year to challenge their competitors at their core business. with 24 local employees to date.
