A LOOK AHEAD Dear fellow anglers, Another great year has passed. It was a year in which we have all witnessed the early consequences of the climate changes. We have experienced long periods of extremely dry conditions in spring time, as well as flooding caused by heavy rainfall and very low temperatures during the summer. This has affected all anglers and people that enjoy outdoor activities. Although a small gesture, this catalogue has been printed CO2 neutral and a number of trees have been planted as compensation. Let’s hope more companies follow us, so that we all try to preserve the angling environment for our future generation. What will the coming angling season bring us? Although we cannot look into the future and cannot guarantee angling success for everybody, we are able to help our fellow anglers to increase the chances of success with great new innovative products! In Quick® reels we introduce a rear drag version of our hit seller Shadow. The innovative rear drag function lifts the total industry standard to a completely new level! The popular Shadow series has been further completed thanks to the introduction of free spool and baitcast reels. Additional highlights in the Quick® reel series are Toxic, Sylt, Impressa, Airway, and many more. We innovate to offer products that are more user-friendly and help you catch more fish. Next to great additions in reels, 2012 will be the year of many new DAM rods. One of the greatest achievements is the new Futron® spinning rod series that has been made using 3rd
generation Nano-Carbon! Judging by the popularity of the Nanoflex series, this will definitely be a big hit. Other impressive new rod series are the Hybrid, Calyber Pro, and Shadow predator rods. We are also very proud of the Impressa, Power Tip, and additional Steelpower Red rods. Modern cool design, high quality, latest technique and ahead of trends in fishing tackle. That is in short what our new Hayasaki concept is all about! This concept consists of Japanese style predator rods with color code, matching reel, and extremely cool tuning sets – all for an amazing price! The idea behind it, is that you can customize, mix and match the Hayasaki rods and reels so that they are perfectly matching. Also in the MAD® carp range we did it again! MAD® Futron® rods that may be the lightest, fastest and at the same time thinnest carp rods you have ever seen! And check out the FSX and CSi bite indicators that can be paired with a tent light that goes on automatically when the fish bites! Certain to be recognized by older anglers amongst us: The first appearance of what was to become D.A.M.
The oldest German fixed reel, QUICK速 STANDARD. Even then it was available either with or without meter counter. The DAMYL速 family around 1900.
The origins of our tradition Suppliers of quality in every area of angling, D.A.M was also one of the pioneers of fly-fishing. Every flyfisher with a feel for tradition will recognize this reel. These reels are made of solid brass and are much sought amongst antiques collectors!

THE COMBINATION OF TrADiTiOn AnD up-TO-DATe APPEARANCE Since generations we have inspired many competitors and "copy makers"! And why not? Anyhow, for a successful original there can’t be a higher evaluation than being copied by less creative people, because nobody would ever try to copy a less successful product.
AIRWAY – the name for telescopic rods (a D.A.M. speciality). Together with QUICK® reels these rods are what gave “fishing tackle made in Germany” its reputation.
So, being measured at the number of copies we already could regard ourselves easily as "market leader” again. Due to this reason we have decided to name some of our key products "Das Original" (= The Original) in the future. Moreover we will of course keep holding on to our slogan "innovation instead of imitation" and will so continue to set standards in the future. Also regarding the features of several products we will keep holding on to the truth instead of following the general trend of exaggeration and we are pretty sure that this strategy will pay off sooner or later due to the old wisdom "honesty will last longest". So all in all we are quite well equipped to meet the combination of tradition and up-to-date appearance!
This reel is still to be found in many fishing cupboards today. For an extremely reasonable price even then, in lean times, it enabled average earners to approach the water equipped with a modern reel.

The Multidisc Rear Drag provides safe and comfortable handling. Several drag discs positioned in series transmit the adjusted drag power to the spool. Fine and easy setting of line resistance is made possible even when playing the fish.
The effective front drag system is completely integrated into the spool. Through the bigger drag surface the drag force can be well adjusted in a sensitive as well as in a powerful way.
A special needle bearing stops the rotor with perfect accuracy from running backward. So you are always in direct contact with the fish which makes lightning fast and penetrating strikes possible.

The Stainless Steel main shaft gives strength even in most rigorous conditions. This high-grade stainless steel is extremely strong and resistant to distortion. It resists corrosion even in saltwater conditions.

Instead of an extravagant gear system, our QUICK® multiplier reels feature a power crank adjustable in length. When playing the fish, you can adjust the crank arm in a flash and apply power as needed. Short crank arm for a fast retrieve. Long crank arm for more power when playing the fish.

When developing our free-spool reels, we attached greatest importance to safe and easy handling. For this reason, the release lever is positioned at the rear of the reel. Our Free-Spool technique guarantees that, with closed bail, the fish can take line without feeling any resistance. By using the crank, the pre-adjusted drag power engages immediately and the fish can be played in the usual manner.

The Direct Drive System is our new gearing system where an especially cut massive brass drive gear and an also special cut stainless steel pinion gear are clutching without any deviation. METAL SPOOL QUICK® high-performance reels come with precise, lightweight metal line spools. They guarantee high stability of shape even when braided lines are used. QUICK® M After the very successful and EFTTEX awarded introduction of our “Retro” reel series Quick® 1000 – 4000 FD in 2007, we set ourselves several new goals in the fishing reel development. Following our basic tradition of trendsetting innovation combined with technical passion, we decided to go one step further in the Magnesium reel technology and the Quick® M series is the according result! every single part has been designed under the aspect of saving weight and gaining stability, so body, side plate, rotor and even the drag pin are made of 100 % Magnesium! The spool and most other parts are made from high grade Aluminium. This makes the reel about double as stable as a similar Aluminium reel, but as light weight or even lighter than a Graphite reel of comparable size. Using the traditional D.A.M. push button system also for front drag reels allows a spool change within seconds. The drag itself is completely sealed, waterproof and micro adjustable. Another innovation is the especially shaped rubber cork handle knob that provides an unmatched grip and feeling. Moreover the reel consists of a complete rubber sealing of the side plate, of both sides of the handle connection, of the instant antireverse system as well as of the front drag system that protects the reel 100 % against penetrating water. QUICK® 1000–4000 FD This very special reel project has been a long term wish for ourselves and surprised many of our true D.A.M.-fans! More than three and a half years of planning, preparation, development and numerous test have been necessary in order to bring the legendary 1000 series back into life in its most modern version, and the result is stunning! These reels fully represent the perfect combination of tradition and up to date technology. A target that the New D.A.M. has clearly set itself, to which we stick and which clearly separates us from our competitors – with success! Technically the new 1000 series is based on the well proven and almost indestructible Direct-Drive system of an especially cut massive brass drive gear and an also special cut stainless steel pinion gear. The oscillation and line lay is guided by the well known S-oscillation system. Like in the old times the spool is equipped with a 4 point line lay adjustment system for extremely thin or thick lines. Also the very practical Quick®Snap handle folding system from the past is part of the features. With the history in mind all further details have been adapted according to modern technology. QUICK速 TOXIC The Quick速 Toxic spinning reels are made of high grade duralumnium which gives them unique stability, a compact and slim design, less tolerances, and increased durability. not only was the Quick速 Toxic engineered by using the latest standards in reel technology, it also got an extremely cool and aggressive appearance! These reels use the patented Elliptical Oscillation System (OOS) that basically is the evolved version of our worldwide known S-curve system. This unique construction gives the reel silk smooth gearing, a very even line-lay and a longer lifetime than conventional reels. Another great feature is the high tech Japanese style carbon handle and hard EVA handle knob. QUICK® A-HeAD Saying that Quick® A-Head is not just a name, but a philosophy, D.A.M. has set up a completely new distance casting concept for a wide range of users. This includes many kinds of spinning, but also match and feeder fishing. The “trick” thereby is a quite low profile spool with an extraordinary big diameter. This reduces friction dramatically and casting becomes a totally new experience compared to “normal” reels. Beside this the low spool stroke allows to create an extremely short an compact body that together with the big “head” gives the reel an outstanding and unique design that is completed by a modern and attractive colour combination. By using oversized drag washers and combine it with a special pressure technique, we have created rear drag reels with a drag power that almost equals the drag power of front drag reels. Next to that, we also introduce the Sealed Drag Construction (SDC) that keeps grease and dirt that naturally comes down the main shaft, away from the drag washers, so that the optimal drag power remains the same throughout the lifetime of the reel! Thanks to these two innovations, we have tackled the main reason for anglers not to use rear drag reels; not enough drag power and decreasing drag function as the reel gets older. These reels are also part of the Compact Design Generation Quick® reels, a true evolution in reel design! The general idea behind it is to design fishing reels that are more compact, slimmer, shorter and at the same time have increased line capacity. QUICK® HELIX FS Extremely smooth running gearings with very little resistance, excellent line lay and slim body design thanks to the worm shaft oscillation, and ultra-compact body design. These are the main points that make the Quick Helix stand out of the crowd! Also these reels are part of the Compact Design Generation Quick reels that can be seen easily by the short and slim body design. Just as with our Quick® A-Head spinning reels we wanted to be one step ahead of competition with the development of our Quick® A-Head BaitCast reel. This we have managed to achieve in even multiple ways and therefore these reels combine features that currently cannot be found at any other comparable baitcast reel. This for example includes the complete aluminium construction of housing, both side plates, spool, handle, star drag and adjustment knob which provides unbelievable strength and durability to the reel and makes it perfectly suitable for fishing with braided lines. For weight reduction as well as for smoother casting and turning the spool has been drilled and machine cut. With a super high speed gear ratio of 7.1:1 this baitcast reel retrieves as fast as a normal spinning reel, so the angler doesn't need to adapt to it. The big
needle bearing constantly assures an instant anti-reverse, even under extreme conditions like while jerking. The star drag as well as the adjustment knob are equipped with clearly recognizable rest positions. For a quick and easy spool change the side plate features a simple push button system. As a very special technical highlight the centrifugal spool drag is equipped with a 7 positions rest system. The numbering can be seen through a small window in the side plate. It can be hold by a small knob in the side plate and by turning the spool it can be set to the required number. Thereby an unintended reset is made impossible. Beside all that this reel is not just a technical highlight, but also the attractive and unusual design makes it outstanding and perfectly matching our Quick® A-Head spinning reels.

IM8 Carbon Structure
Hayasaki is a fantastic predator fishing concept with a young, fresh, innovative and trendy street fishing character. The concept has been developed by the DAM product specialists with the kind expert help of Japanese bass fishing specialist Nobu Oshima! We have developed this series mainly because of two reasons: First of all most specialist spinning rods with outstanding appearance and Japanese characteristics on today’s market are extremely expensive. And second, most of them are made for bass fishing, are very short and often have completely different casting weights than we are used to in Europe. Hayasaki rods are made out of high grade IM8 carbon and designed according to the latest trends in Japanese predator fishing. But, we have tried our very best to keep the rods affordable for every angler and we have adapted the length and casting weight to our standards. There are 11 rods in the series, where 7 are spinning rods and 4 are made for baitcast reels.

Another great feature of the Hayasaki concept is that the Quick® Hayasaki reel can be “pimped” with a tuning set that matches the color codes of the rods! This means that you can combine your reel and rod in the same color! How cool is that?

CROSSPOWER SEA RODS The CrossPower Winding technology already has a long and successful history in D.A.M., but adapting the latest step of development to a new and comprehensive sea rod series has also been a challenge for us! What is the DAM Power Tip construction? Depending on the length and casting weight these tips have been tested with bending curves of 180 – 270 degrees! The Impressa telescopic rods are robust and very easy to transport. At the same time we have tried to keep the diameter of the blank as slim as possible and maintaining the semi parabolic action that is characteristic for the Impressa series. The 25 and 40 grams versions are precise spinning rods for active anglers, whereas the 60 and 80 gram versions are powerful “sticks” that are meant for big lures and static bottom fishing. Then there are the 100 gram rods, where the shorter ones are perfect for fishing from the boat at sea and the longer ones can handle big carp and even catfish.
