PASSIONS AND INTERESTS

piacere, Elena Hello, I’m Elena! I’m an Italian designer with strong passion for design and fashion...after all...I was born in Milan, Italy! Since I was a little girl, I have always been passionate about design, illustration, dance, art history and travel, thank to my family education. I partecipated to workshops in Italy and abroad (France, Portugal, USA) to depth my social research and my creative mind. I work on interior and graphic design projects for privates and companies as Seletti and Wall&Deco, during my previous career in Milanes studios, and Campari. An accurate research on human interaction is always present to “choreograph” my projects.

This project was born at the Lusiada University of Lisbon during my Portuguese study period. The purpose of the course was to design an exhibition, ideally designed to be accommodated inside the spaces of the Center Pompidou of Paris, devoted to one or more famous designers suggested by the same professors. The exhibition called "ensemble together" would be the work of the course students. In addition to the exhibition space, we were asked to develop a series of services and graphics related to the event.

The objective of this competition, Central Park Summer Pavilion (CPSP) New York, was to create a multi-usage area in the emblematic Central Park that can host different activities in summer. With its privileged location, the objective of the CPSP is to become a cultural and leisure reference point for inhabitants and visitors of the city, a space that is integrated in the natural environment of the park and that is flexible enough to adapt to a wide variety of activities on a moderate scale.

This project was developed during my collaboration with the art and design studio CTRLZAK. Rugs always represented a piece of somebody’s home and the themes depicted on them were people’s way to recreate their surroundings through their tradition. The rugs presented explore classic carpets’ themes of western & eastern culture in a new genre predicting our hybrid future. The Hybrid project originates through a research on the history of porcelain and its’ centuries of cross-fertilisation between Western and Eastern aesthetics.

This project was developed during my collaboration with the art and design studio CTRLZAK. The mural is the oldest painting technique, because walls were the first painting surface that humans worked on. In the contemporary era, mural art finds in wallpapers a partner: both of them stand on walls and both of them need water and paint to take shape. For each wallpaper, CTRLZAK studio has carried a profound research playing with the perception of internal/external space proposing artworks that invite people to reflect in their daily lives.

In this project we were asked to take on the theme of prevention from sexually transmitted diseases, choosing a target from 13 to 18 years old, where most young people begin to have sexual intercourse. The final goal of the Communication course was to identify a communicative strategy linked to a possible service that would reinforce the purpose.
