The fixtures detailed in this booklet were set during 2013 and although we endeavour to hold to published dates, things can change. Please check on the club website for the latest news of events and happenings.
Sussex Yacht Club has been a RYA Recognised Teaching Centre for twenty six years and members enjoy preferential rates. Full details of the courses and how to participate are on the website or you can contact the office.
Racing & Rallying
Social
Racing and rallying is the heart and soul of SYC’s regular fixtures; keep an eye on the club website where any changes to sailing instructions etc. are published. The website is also where you can find all the racing documents you need to take part in SYC events.
The social events at SYC vary from casual through to formal with full details and menus published on the website - as always it is a huge help when folks can book their tickets early.
There are also some great rally plans for 2014 and again watch out for online news. The Rally Secretary has a tricky job at SYC and will be eternally grateful if skippers intending to participate register as early as possible. Again, check the website.
Race Officers Race Officer duties are allocated at the Sailing AGM and the master dutyroster is published on the club website.
The monthly club nights are always informal and are the perfect occasion for new members to get a feel for the club by saying hello at the bar.
SYC Bar The SYC bar opening hours are as follows - please note that it may close for a session if there are no customers present for an hour, so if you are running late phone ahead. Please support the bar!

Restaurant
The dive section is very active at SYC with mid-week and weekend diving. Plans are adjusted during the previous week to take into account weather, tide and water conditions, so for the latest news on planned dives please see the website http://brightondiving007.com and/or email info@brightondiving007.com for availability. You can also email a request to receive text messaging for updates on available spaces.
Thanks to Simon and his catering team, dining at SYC is something to look forward to. Although Simon always caters for walk-in diners, to avoid disappointment it is a good idea to book your table either by ‘phone 07702 615870 or email using simonhaffenden@live.co.uk.
