WORLD WIDE TECHNOLOGY, INC. GLOBAL HEADQUARTERS
Maryland Heights, MO
Just seven years after designing a headquarters for World Wide Technology, O’Toole Design was assigned the task to create a bigger and better headquarters for the rapidly growing company.
World Wide Technology is known for providing office spaces where people want to go to work, and wanted to take that idea to the next level, with a brand new building full of their own amazing and innovative technology that would inspire employees and visitors alike.
The priority for the new seven-story Global Headquarters building was to create an innovative, collaborative and energetic environment that incorporated and reinforced WWT’s core values, including WWT’s commitment to maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Corporate colors and branding identity concepts were integrated throughout the building. Finishes and designs were utilized with a commitment to sustainability. The project is in review for LEED gold certification, and won a St. Louis Section Illumination Award for Excellence in Lighting.

O’Toole Design is always there to provide their professional touch. They have taken the time to understand our company culture and helped to provide direction and design for our corporate interior standards. Their extensive product knowledge providing multiple options when we said we would “know it when we saw it” and their attention to detail are an asset to any company who is looking for a wonderful design experience with truly professional results. O’Toole Design have helped us with numerous projects across the globe, including our 7-story headquarters building, and I am glad to be able to call on them as a trusted partner each and every time a new project arises.
PAYNECREST ELECTRIC St. Louis, MO
Awarded one of the “Top Workplaces in 2016” by the St. Louis Post Dispatch, this electrical contractor’s workplace is not your “typical” looking office. The CEO treats his employees like family and desired a café and a conference room that felt like “home” a place to gather around the table at the beginning or end of a long day, a place to collaborate and include their peeps from around the country that might be out on remote job sites,,,,, and a place to celebrate their accomplishments. The redesign of their “Main Feeder” the name of their main café and the creation of a conference room named “Louie” an homage to the company’s Founder helped bring that residential comfortable feeling into their office.

CUIVRE RIVER ELECTRICAL COOPERATIVE Troy, MO
Cuivre River Electrical Cooperative located in Troy, Missouri, is a two story 34,000 SF headquarter office building and serves as the largest of Missouri’s consumer-owned electric distribution cooperatives. CREC challenged O’Toole Design to create a new office space that would reinforce the interaction between the different work groups within the organization. A connecting stair was strategically positioned around a town center where employees could meet and collaborate.
The use of large format LVT surfaces along main traffic corridors, combined the feel of exposed concrete while incorporating natural wood and steel elements to create a feeling of authenticity and warehouse chic.

SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICTLEARNING CENTER & OFFICES Hazelwood, MO
To better serve the Special School District community, the Early Learning Center needed to turn a boring empty building into a functional workspace for employees and students. By taking into consideration the need for gathering spaces, collaborative working, a larger conference center and a more functional layout, we were able to transform their new space into a warm and welcome space for both students and adults.

COSMOS St. Peters, MO
The world headquarters for Cosmos Corporation, located in St. Peters, MO, is a family-owned company and a leader in the pet industry. O’Toole was asked to provide a space that reinforces the owner’s mission of using natural ingredients in their product manufacturing. Stone and wood permeate the open office floor plan along with a living plant wall that becomes a welcoming focal piece. Workspace panel heights were lowered allowing greater access to natural light and increasing the interaction among staff.

For 20+ years, the Associates and Senior Leaders at Ascension continue to bestow high praise on O’Toole Design for their creative ideas and workplace solutions. Michelle and her team are easy to work with and have become an extension to our Facilities Services team as they program, design and manage the multitude of projects and types of projects that we have experienced as Ascension has grown. Their quick response to our needs and requests is always appreciated as well as their knowledge of new workplace trends. With O’Toole’s guidance and experience, our workplace has evolved to help facilitate new ways of working together.
KIRKWOOD PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - SIGNAGE PACKAGE
Kirkwood, MO
A design firm with experience in both Interiors and Environmental Graphic design was critical to Kirkwood Performing Arts Center. We were tasked in creating a comprehensive Interior and Exterior signage package that was designed to focus on wayfinding, to make navigating the space a natural instinct for the visitors.
The signage was tied into the overall theme of Kirkwood Performing Arts Center and it can be easily recognized throughout the space. From the exterior KPAC logo, down to the room designations and restroom signage, the wayfinding is straightforward, cohesive, and on-brand.

A NEW WORKPLACE
Your Culture, Your Vision, Your Core Values: We Make YOUR Space Work.
The workplace is ever-evolving. As a company considers renovating or designing new space, they must also be cognizant of future generations to be effective. Our role as your design partner is to ask those deeper questions, spark creative conversations, engage employee input and discover the culture of your company that will be portrayed in your workplace.
IN WORKPLACE DESIGN
• Communities/Neighborhoods/Spaces relating to collaboration.
• Creative space that gives choice
• Global Inspirations.
• Employee Well-Being: Daylight, comfort and flexibility, healthy options, a connection to nature, office acoustics and noise reduction.
• Diversity of Materials: natural, textural, durable.
• Efficiency make the space effective, productive and a good value.
• Employee Engagement matters.
• Mobility and flexibility in layouts
• Environmental graphics help communicate corporate messages, strengthen brands, and create a cohesive overall design.
COST ESTIMATE HISTORY
Working with a contractor during the design phase has helped us with compiling project cost estimates for projects. As designers we must rely on a good contractor partner along with their subcontractors to help establish a realistic construction budget. O’Toole Design will also provide a working FFE budget for review prior to any selections of new furniture or systems taking place.
VALUE ENGINEERING
We understand that with even the most cost effective designs, sometimes value engineering is required on a project. We are a team player in this arena and work with the contractor to evaluate the best and most effective way to provide a solution that will satisfy your needs.
SCHEDULING
In the beginning of the project, we will sit down with the project team and stakeholders to identify the target date of completion and milestones along the way that will need to be met to keep the project on schedule. Our schedules include expected milestones such as programming completed, construction documents completed and submitted for permit, as well as the dates such as FFE order entry, furniture relocation from other buildings, data and network installed and move dates.
