CALIFORNIA MUNICIPAL CLERKS ASSOCIATION (CMCA)
In collaboration with CSUSM Extended Learning, the CMCA hosts four-day Municipal Clerks Institutes three times each year. Since 2024, more than 350 City Clerks from across California have traveled to CSUSM to complete the required training for their Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) certifications. SAN MARCOS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
In partnership with CSUSM Extended Learning, the San Marcos Chamber awards Certificates of Completion to participants of its Leadership Training Program, offered twice a year to support the development of local leaders.
SAN MARCOS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (SMUSD)
The San Marcos Unified School District partners with CSUSM Extended Learning to recognize high school seniors who complete the Community Interpreter ® curriculum within the Interpreting and Translating Career Technical Education Pathway. The first group of graduates received their Certificates of Completion on May 29, 2025.
VISTA COMMUNITY CLINIC (VCC)
VCC continues its long-standing partnership with CSUSM Extended Learning to offer the high-demand Medical Assistant Training Program. With 18 cohorts and over 500 graduates to date, this program prepares students for healthcare careers. Cohorts begin in July and January. Applications for the January 2026 cohort open mid-August. CUSTOMIZED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
CSUSM helps businesses in the community address gaps in employee skills with customized programs led by faculty and industry experts. MOVE UP, MOVE FORWARD THIS FALL!
Fall 2025 is the perfect time to focus on education that will take your career in new directions. Starting in September, take advantage of popular programs in human resource management, healthcare interpreting, supply chain management and supervising employees.
In Spring 2026, we will offer programs in medical assistant training, managers as leaders, nonprofit management skills, PMP certification exam preparation and SHRM certification exam preparation.

TESL/TEFL CERTIFICATE
Learn the best practices used to teach English as a second/foreign language both at home and abroad. We offer two program formats to fit your needs.
The 120-hour, face-to-face program emphasizes hands-on training and practice with English-language learners; offered every spring and summer. The 60-hour asynchronous online program is low cost, yet high quality with a teaching practicum option; offered throughout the year on your own schedule.
