Healthy Foods: Grains 1.

Read.

Grains are good for your health. You need 6-11 servings of grains every day for good health. A serving of grain is one slice of bread, ½ cup of cooked rice or pasta, or one cup of cereal. Whole grains are very healthy. Eat more brown rice, brown bread and other foods that say “whole grain” on the package. Eat less white rice and white bread.

Some foods are less healthy for you. Sweet and salty foods have sugar and salt. Cakes, cookies, and sodas are sweet foods. Potato chips and French fries are salty foods. A serving is two small cookies or a small bag of chips. Do not eat more than 1-2* servings of sweet and salty foods a day.

2. Read Healthy Habits A healthy habit is something that you usually do on most days that is good for your health. People who have healthy habits feel better, live longer and don’t get sick as often as other people.
