Streamline Your Success

At El Camino, enrollment is just the first step toward achieving your goal, whether that means earning an associate degree or a one-year certificate. We make sure you have help every step of the way. One tool El Camino uses is ECC Evolve, part of our Guided Pathways framework, which puts students on a path right away to complete college work, saving time and money while setting a streamlined schedule to graduation.

New research points to the notable success of community college student retention rates over four-year colleges and universities due to this advising model. The key is helping students develop a personalized plan for the classes they need early on. Then, an established support system helps monitor student progress through completion. After that, the future is wide open, from transferring to a university as a junior with all credits earned to entering a rewarding, high-paying career.

Student Profile Priscilla

Fleming Respiratory Care

At El Camino, Priscilla Fleming fast-tracked her career as a licensed respiratory care practitioner. She started by completing an associate degree in two years and pursuing a career at an area hospital. When a new respiratory care bachelor’s degree program recently opened at El Camino, she joined right away and now plans to graduate with a fouryear degree.

“The two-year program is intense and challenging, but when they offered the bachelor’s degree, I decided I wanted more,” she said. “I think you can never have enough education. There is always something new to learn.”

Spring classes begin February 18, 2025
