Membership to Ela 55+ is free to ALL residents of Ela Township 55 and older. To register: come to the Ela Township Community Center with valid ID and current utility bill. There is a $5 charge for replacement key fobs.
NON-RESIDENTS
All Non Residents must pay their 2025 Annual Fee prior to registering for any programs. For an annual rate of $40 per person, those residing outside of Ela Township can enjoy the “no-fee” based programs and services offered to Ela Residents. Non-Residents must pay the NonResident rates on all fee based programs.

Need transportation for shopping, errands, doctor, dentist or hair appointments? Ela Township Bus Service is offered to Ela Township residents who are 55 years or older and/or handicapped. Ela Bus Service also provides transportation to the Barrington and Palatine train station.

The former estate of Joseph Medill and his grandson, Colonel Robert R. McCormick, publishers of the Chicago Tribune. Cantigny comprises expansive formal and informal gardens, a historic Georgian-style brick house, a military museum, a visitor center with cafe, a picnic grove with pavilion, an outdoor playground, hiking paths and a 27-hole golf course with driving range, pro-shop and restaurant. We will begin our visit with a tour of the gardens and then we have free time to continue to explore the gardens or visit the First Division Museum. Restorative Yoga is a style of yoga that uses yoga props - bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps to make all yoga poses gentle and accessible to everyone. The goal of restorative yoga is to bring balance to body and mind. Restorative Yoga helps with emotional and physical stress as well as improving immunity, lowering blood pressure, increasing flexibility and overall wellness.

How much stuff do we need or want in our later life? Will any of our items be a burden to others when we are gone? These are the questions we will address this class, with a goal to create a more peaceful, intentional life and ensure that everything is in order. We can talk through the items that give us the biggest challenge to release, and share our own strategies to get things ‘death cleaned’. The course focuses on the Swedish tradition of "Döstädning" (death cleaning), a practice of decluttering and organizing one's belongings to make it easier for loved ones to deal with after they pass away.
