Festival The Western Workers Festival is a celebration of the artistic and spiritual culture of labor, and working men and women. Held on Martin Luther King weekend, it commemorates the social justice and economic change that Dr. King so firmly endorsed. It’s a three-day festival of workshops, presentations, dance, film, graphic arts, spoken word and lots of music ... practically anything that can be interpreted as an artistic expression of worker’s voices in the working world will be found at this festival. Labor artist and archivist Lincoln Cushing will receive the Labor Arts Award. Three comedy legends will team up for this night only: show creator Marga Gomez, comedian and improviser extraordinaire Diane Amos and direct from Los Angeles, the razor-sharp hilarious Betsy Salkind. Throughout these years, the award-winning Loco Bloco has been, and continues to be, a San Francisco staple with regular appearances at SF Carnaval, Dia de Los Muertos celebration in the Mission, Giants games and more.
