My name is Andy Utsumi, and I am honored to serve all of you as the Principal of E Ray Elementary School I am very excited to work together with you for the betterment of each one of our scholars This year promises to be full of achievement, productivity, and growth for each one of our E Ray scholars Together, we will aim for excellence as we focus on student engagement, maintaining a positive school culture, and rigorous instruction based on standards-aligned lessons.
I have been working in education for the past 23 years, 20 of which have been in Everman ISD. I completed my third year as principal of E. Ray. I served as the Hommel Assistant Principal for 4 years and taught for 13 years at Bishop Elementary School. I received my undergraduate degree in elementary education from Arizona State University I also earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University
I strongly view education as a collaborative effort between parents, scholars, teachers, and the community I am truly looking forward to working with and fostering all of our scholars to become the best individuals possible
During my free time, I enjoy watching and playing all sports, as well as spending time with my family My wife and I have two sons in college I look forward to meeting you and your family You are always welcome to visit our school and meet with me. I am grateful and elated for the opportunity to continue to build relationships with each one of our E. Ray families. The 2024-2025 school year will be full of wonderful new experiences for all of us! This year’s theme will be “If you can Dream it, you can Do it!”

I am excited this year to serve as principal of Hommel Elementary. It is a joy to continue serving the students, families, and staff of Hommel in this new role. I began working in Everman 2011 as a music teacher at Souder Elementary. After 7 years there, I moved to be assistant principal at E. Ray Elementary, and in 2021, I came to Hommel to serve as assistant principal. Many years later, I see those young students begin to graduate and even come back to work for Everman.
As you know, teaching our students is a daily partnership between the school and families. This year, we will communicate with families through Class Dojo and host several events, beginning with Meet the Teacher on August 8th. Please consider signing up to be a volunteer, and if you are interested in joining PTO, please contact the front office Our amazing staff is eager to start the year and serve our students One request I am making of all our families this year is to spend at least 15 minutes, 3 times a week, reading with your child From first grade to, yes, even fifth grade, you’ll be amazed at how much your child loves this activity This will also help our students’ fluency and comprehension skills quickly increase If you are looking for resources to help your child with this, please contact your teacher or the front office, and we will be happy to help
Married in 2010, my wife, Spring, and I enjoy concerts, cooking, traveling, and camping She is the love of my life and my biggest supporter. On weekends, you will find me decked out in my Oklahoma Sooners gear to cheer on my home team, Boomer!

This will be my 24th year in the Everman Independent School District and my 16th year as an administrator Prior to my service as an administrator, I served as a Special Education teacher for eight years at Bishop Elementary Prior to that, I taught at-risk students at Boys Town in Nebraska for 5 years
Townley Elementary has a history of people with a strong work ethic and dedication to student success I am encouraged to share that most of our staff are returning from last year to help achieve student success and to use the strong foundation

I am proud to say it is a great day to be a BULLDOG! I'm so excited to help lead the charge of making Everman great.
I have been happily married to my wife, Marie, for eighteen years. We have three sons, KeShawn, Ahmare, and Tai. I grew up loving and playing sports, but it was education that transformed my life. The quest to help young people reach their full potential and become productive citizens is my lifelong mission.
I was born in St. Louis, Missouri, but moved to Irving, Texas, at 9 years old. I also spent 3 years in Sacramento, California, before returning to the metroplex and living in Arlington. I originally attended DeVry University and majored in Business and Technical Management. Shortly after receiving my bachelor's degree, I began teaching and coaching in Cedar Hill ISD. While working as a coach and teacher, I pursued my Master's Degree at the University of North Texas.
I spent 6 years coaching football, basketball, and track at Cedar Hill before moving to Arlington ISD to coach football and track. During my educational career, I have been teacher of the month three times, teacher of the year, and assistant coach of the year. I have served in a leadership capacity several times throughout my career, including department lead, head coach, defensive coordinator, Fellowship of Christian Athletes lead, mentor, and assistant principal.
As a leader in this district, I promise to continue to find the best practices available to help educate our kids here at Everman. Education is my passion because "it is easier to educate young people than it is to repair broken men"Booker T. Washington. I believe the key to academic success is continuous effort, and I will ensure that all students give this effort.

¡Estoy orgulloso de decir que es un gran día para ser BULLDOG! Estoy muy emocionado de ayudar a liderar la tarea de hacer grande a Everman.
He estado felizmente casado con mi esposa, Marie, durante dieciocho años. Tenemos tres hijos, KeShawn, Ahmare y Tai. Crecí amando y practicando deportes, pero fue la educación la que transformó mi vida. La misión de toda mi vida es ayudar a los jóvenes a alcanzar su máximo potencial y convertirse en ciudadanos productivos.

Como líder de este distrito, prometo seguir buscando las mejores prácticas disponibles para ayudar a educar a nuestros niños aquí en Everman. La educación es mi pasión porque "es más fácil educar a los jóvenes que reparar a hombres destrozados" - Booker T. Washington. Diana Avina Parga, a 2024 graduate, placed 6th in Varisty Spanish Lesson Plan and Delivery. She recieved her Educational Aide 1 certification while completing the Teaching and Training program of study and will continue at TCC majoring in Education.
Lily C. and Maria S. authored a Spanish children's book for 2nd grade placing 5th. They will be sophomores next year and will continue in the Teaching and Training Program of Study.
Everman TAFE is a CTSO organization that is advised by Mrs. Lisa Mulero, this is the 3rd year EISD is represented at the National level.
Diana Avina Parga, graduada de 2024, obtuvo el sexto lugar en Planificación e impartición de lecciones de español de Varisty. Recibió su certificación de Asistente Educativo 1 mientras completaba el programa de estudio de Enseñanza y Capacitación y continuará en TCC con especialización en Educación.
Lily C. y Maria S. escribieron un libro infantil en español para 2.º grado y 5.º lugar. Serán estudiantes de segundo año el próximo año y continuarán en el Programa de Estudio de Docencia y Capacitación.
Everman TAFE es una organización CTSO asesorada por la Sra. Lisa Mulero, este es el tercer año que EISD está representada a nivel nacional.
