E.RAY ELEMENTARY
My name is Andy Utsumi, and I am honored to serve all of you as the Principal of E. Ray Elementary School. I am very happy and excited to work together with you for the betterment of our scholars This year promises to be full of achievement, productivity, and growth for our E. Ray scholars. Together, we will aim for excellence as we focus on student engagement, maintaining a positive school culture, and rigorous instruction based on standards-aligned lessons.
I have worked in education for the past 22 years, 19 of which have been in Everman ISD. I completed my second year as principal of E. Ray, served as the Hommel Assistant Principal for four years, and taught for 13 years at Bishop Elementary School. I received my undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in Elementary Education. I also earned my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.
Education is a collaborative effort between parents, scholars, teachers, and the community. I am genuinely looking forward to working with and fostering all of our scholars to become the best individuals possible
During my free time, I enjoy watching and playing all sports, as well as spending time with my family My wife and I have two teenage sons I look forward to meeting you and your family. You are always welcome to visit our school and meet with me. I am grateful and elated for the opportunity to continue to build relationships with each one of our E. Ray families. The 2023-2024 school year will be full of wonderful new experiences for all of us! This year’s theme will be “There is a HERO in all of us.”
