BACK TO SCHOOL BASH 2025
Hello EISD Family,
Spring is here! It seems this semester is flying by, much like this school year. I am so proud of the hard work done by our students and staff. Our teachers and students are working hard gearing up for the end-of-year assessments which we know and believe that our Everman students are prepared and ready to take on the opportunity.
Although this semester is quickly coming to an end, there is still much to look forward to, such as EHS and EAHS Graduation ceremonies, Kindergarten Graduation, campus awards ceremonies, field day events, end-of-year field trips, and much more! In addition, I’m excited to share that Sedalco will start the beginning stages of the May 2024 Bond projects at Hommel, Souder, and the multipurpose facility. Bond-approved security upgrades will begin throughout the district. Bond projects at Bishop and E. Ray are scheduled to begin soon afterward.
As a reminder, please make sure your child is at school everyday! Attendance is important and matters through the last day of school.
As always, thank you for your continuous support and input throughout this school year! I am sincerely grateful for each and every one of you!

Hola familia de EISD,
¡Ya llegó la primavera! Parece que este semestre vuela, al igual que este año escolar. Estoy muy orgulloso del arduo trabajo de nuestros estudiantes y personal. Nuestros maestros y estudiantes están trabajando arduamente para prepararse para las evaluaciones de fin de año, y sabemos y creemos que nuestros estudiantes de Everman están listos para aprovechar esta oportunidad.
Aunque este semestre está a punto de terminar, todavía hay mucho que esperar, como las ceremonias de graduación de EHS y EAHS, la graduación de kínder, las ceremonias de premiación del campus, los días de campo, las excursiones de fin de año y mucho más.
Además, me complace anunciar que Sedalco comenzará las primeras etapas de los proyectos financiados por el Bono de mayo de 2024 en Hommel, Souder y el centro multiusos. Las mejoras de seguridad aprobadas por el Bono comenzarán en todo el distrito. Los proyectos financiados por el Bono en Bishop y E. Ray están programados para comenzar poco después.

Books are awesome, and we showed it in style! Students and staff embraced the week of reading and learning The teachers and staff brought stories to life in the most colorful ways. Our staff made the magic even more special by reading to students throughout the week.
Black History Program – A Living Museum Experience and musical performance
History stepped into the present as our students transformed into legendary African American historians in our inspiring Living Museum. Dressed as influential figures from the past, they shared powerful stories and achievements, making history come alive in a way that educated and inspired all who attended.
Ken & Barbie Day – Fun, Fashion, and Learning!
Because learning should always be fun, we had a blast celebrating Ken & Barbie Day! With a playful dress up day that was filled with joy and plenty of smiles. Our students embraced the joy of fun and collaboration in a way that was uniquely Dan Powell!

Spring at Bishop Elementary: Celeb Hard Work and Exciting Even
As the flowers bloom and the days grow warmer, Bishop Elementary is buzzing with excitement and accomplishment. Our students have been working diligently throughout the year, and this spring is a time to recognize their dedication while enjoying some well-earned celebrations!
Student Achievements and Hard Work Our students have been putting in incredible effort in their studies, projects, and extracurricular activities. From excelling in classroom assignments to demonstrating perseverance in their learning journeys, their hard work does not go unnoticed. Teachers and staff are immensely proud of the progress our students have made, and we continue to see remarkable growth in academic performance, creativity, and leadership skills.
Many students have taken on additional challenges to further their learning and personal growth. Our scholars have been actively participating in IXL Challenges, sharpening their math and language arts skills through engaging and rigorous practice. Readers across all grade levels have been logging impressive Beanstack Reading Minutes, showcasing their dedication to literacy and a love for books.
Beyond academics, our Running Club has been training hard and competing in marathons, demonstrating perseverance and a commitment to physical fitness. Additionally, our ParentStudent Gardening Club has been making a positive impact by cultivating plants, learning about sustainability, and beautifying our school grounds. Their teamwork and dedication to nature are truly inspiring!
Grants Supporting Learning and Innovation
This year, Bishop Elementary has been fortunate to receive several grants that are enriching our students' educational experiences. These grants have allowed us to introduce new programs and expand existing ones:
Book Club: This initiative encourages a love for reading by providing students with engaging literature and discussions that build comprehension and critical thinking skills.
Lunchtime Learning: This program transforms lunch breaks into engaging learning opportunities, offering students fun and educational activities outside of the traditional classroom setting. STEM Activities: Thanks to grant funding, we have been able to enhance our STEM curriculum with hands-on experiments, coding activities, and engineering challenges that inspire innovation and problem-solving.
3rd Grade Pollinator Paradise: Our third graders are taking learning outdoors by creating a Pollinator Paradise in our outdoor learning space. This special project promotes environmental stewardship, allowing students to plant flowers that attract and support pollinators like bees and butterflies.
We are grateful for these grants and the opportunities they provide to enhance our students' educational journey.
STAAR Testing: Showcasing Academic Excellence Spring also marks an important milestone for our students—the STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) testing. Our scholars have been preparing with dedication, participating in review sessions, and practicing strategies to showcase their knowledge and skills. We encourage all students to get plenty of rest, eat a nutritious breakfast, and come to school with confidence on testing days. We believe in their abilities and are excited to see them succeed!
End-of-the-Year Events: Fun and Celebration As we near the end of another fantastic school year, Bishop Elementary has planned some exciting events to celebrate our students' hard work and foster community spirit.
Field Day: A favorite tradition, Field Day promises a day full of outdoor fun, friendly competition, and team spirit. Students will participate in various games and activities that promote teamwork and physical fitness.
Field Trips: Our students will have the opportunity to expand their learning beyond the classroom with engaging and educational field trips. These experiences allow them to explore new places, deepen their understanding of various subjects, and create lasting memories.
Bishop Family Picnic: What better way to wrap up the school year than with our beloved Bishop Family Picnic? Families, students, and staff will come together for an afternoon of delicious food, laughter, and shared memories.
End-of-the-Year Awards: To honor the hard work and achievements of our students, we will be hosting an End-ofthe-Year Awards ceremony. This special event will recognize academic excellence, leadership, character, and other outstanding accomplishments of our students.
These events are a wonderful way to acknowledge the dedication of our students and to celebrate the strong sense of community that makes Bishop Elementary so special.
As we step into the final stretch of the school year, let’s continue to support and cheer on our students for all they have achieved. Here’s to a fantastic spring filled with learning, laughter, and celebration!

Paraíso de Polinizadores de 3.er Grado: Nuestros alumnos de 3.er Grado llevan su aprendizaje al aire libre creando un Paraíso de Polinizadores en nuestro espacio de aprendizaje al aire libre. Este proyecto especial promueve el cuidado del medio ambiente, permitiendo a los alumnos plantar flores que atraen y apoyan a polinizadores como abejas y mariposas.

Premios de Fin de Año: Para reconocer el esfuerzo y los logros de nuestros estudiantes, celebraremos una ceremonia de premios de fin de año. Este evento especial reconocerá la excelencia académica, el liderazgo, el carácter y otros logros destacados de nuestros estudiantes.
Estos eventos son una manera maravillosa de reconocer la dedicación de nuestros estudiantes y celebrar el fuerte sentido de comunidad que hace que Bishop Elementary sea tan especial.

Why Is School Attendance Important?
Parents, we would like your help in making sure your child gets to school each and every day and on time. Please help us!
School attendance is a powerful predictor of student outcomes. In fact , irregular attendance can be a better predictor of whether students will drop out of school before graduation than test scores , according to the US Department of Education.
STAAR Testing for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Scholars
Parents, the state assessments are coming up soon We will be testing on April 8, 15, and the 22nd. Please help ensure that your child is getting a good night’s rest and eating breakfast in the morning. Our doors open at 7:20am for all students to eat breakfast. Let’s stay in communication with one another to ensure the best for your child Thank you so much for your support!

Black History Month & Family Engagement
Hommel proudly celebrated Black History Month with student-led projects and family events that honored Black excellence and the power of legacy
A heartwarming moment came from student Cantrell Rudison, who chose to portray former EISD Superintendent Dr. Curtis Amos. When Mrs. Pauletha Amos, Dr. Amos’s widow, learned about it, she was touched and met with Cantrell bringing him lunch and sharing personal stories. When Cantrell said he wanted to be a doctor, she smiled and called him “Dr. Cantrell” for the rest of the visit, promising to check on his progress It was a beautiful connection between a student and a local legend, and a reminder that our heroes live on through the lives they inspire

With STAAR testing around the corner, our students and teachers have been focused, fired up, and ready to shine! Through targeted lessons, practice sessions, and plenty of encouragement, Bulldogs are building confidence and academic strength

At Tuesday’s school board meeting, dedicated staff members were honored for inspiring students to be in school every day. Their motivation and encouragement have helped build a strong culture of consistency and care, and we’re proud to keep that streak going!

Roy Johnson STEM Academy Summer Camp: Igniting Young Minds in Science and Technology
Roy Johnson STEM Academy is excited to announce its annual three-day summer camp, an immersive, hands-on learning experience designed for young minds eager to explore the dynamic world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).
Now in its fourth year, the STEM summer camp is geared toward incoming 6th graders and typically takes place in June. To ensure all interested students have the opportunity to participate, elementary campuses are provided with registration information before the end of the school year, allowing 5th graders and their families to plan ahead.
Each year, the camp welcomes up to 80 students, offering them the chance to take home projects they have worked on during the program and earn STEM-themed prizes for their participation. In 2023, we had the privilege of hosting "Mad Science," an organization known for its engaging, project-based learning experiences. Middle school participants explored advanced STEM concepts such as coding, robotics, and 3D printing. Through hands-on experimentation, students tackled real-world challenges, explored cutting-edge technology, and developed essential skills such as problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork.
If parents are interested in enrolling their child, they should fill out the registration form distributed at elementary schools. However, it's never too late to join! If a student misses the registration deadline, parents can call the STEM Academy directly to provide their information to the administrator.

Roy Johnson STEM Academy se complace en anunciar su campamento de verano anual de tres días, una experiencia de aprendizaje práctica e inmersiva diseñada para mentes jóvenes ansiosas por explorar el dinámico mundo de la ciencia, la tecnología, la ingeniería y las matemáticas (STEM).

Si los padres están interesados en inscribir a sus hijos, deben completar el formulario de inscripción que se distribuye en las escuelas primarias. ¡Sin embargo, nunca es tarde para inscribirse! Si un estudiante no cumple con la fecha límite de inscripción, los padres pueden llamar directamente a la Academia STEM para proporcionar su información al administrador.
