EHOVECONNECT Direct to You From EHOVE Students

What You Need to Know About Applying to EHOVE By Principal Smith •

Pick up an application at your high school counselor’s office or at EHOVE, or get the online version at www.EHOVE.net.

Fill out the application and submit it to your high school counselor by January 18.

EHOVE’s application review team will consider your grades, credits, attendance, discipline record and counselor recommendation. Although EHOVE will accept applications until the start of the 2013-14 school year, the majority of the career tech programs will fill early. Therefore, students applying after February may not be able to enter their first career tech program choice.

Notification letters will be mailed the first week of March to students who have applied.

EHOVE counselors meet with each accepted student to discuss future college/career paths and discuss schedule needs. We want you to stay connected with your partner school and will work with you to individualize your schedule to meet your needs for classes, credits, athletics, band, etc.

EHOVE Helped Me Choose... COLLEGE

EHOVE Helped Me Choose... CAREER

EHOVE has definitely helped me make the decision to go to college right out of high school. At EHOVE, I gained the technical knowledge I needed to get ahead. It will help me obtain better grades in college and make college life less stressful. With the support of EHOVE, friends and family, I have made the choice to get my four-year degree in Computer Science. EHOVE showed me that college was right for me. I know it was one of the best choices I have made.

I came to EHOVE my Junior year and was pretty set on what I wanted to learn. Even though I’m at EHOVE all day, I’m still able to connect to my home school, mostly because I do sports there. Now I’m in my Senior year and I know what I want to do. I’m going to go into the Navy so I can go to medical school to study anesthesiology. EHOVE has training for just about every career you might be interested in to help you get a jump start on your career.

College Credit OpƟons at EHOVE By Tyler Fleming Engineering Tech • New London HS with Brooke Stieber Teacher Academy • Monroeville HS and Chef Edwards with Jacob Lewis Culinary Arts • Perkins HS and Melinda Kemenah Culinary Arts • Bellevue HS EHOVE has given me the opportunity to go to college and stay in a high school setting at the same time. As a Junior, I take my academic classes on EHOVE’s campus, but have my Engineering Tech lab at the BGSU Firelands’ campus. EHOVE even drives me and other students to the college! I’m getting on-transcript, free college credit in my program. Every EHOVE student who qualifies with grades, etc. has the opportunity to do this. Every EHOVE student also is able to earn free articulated credit. That’s where you get free college credit for what you do in your EHOVE program, if you go to a certain college after graduation. There’s more about this, so watch the video for details!

I take all my classes at EHOVE, but not everyone does that. Some students take all their academics at their home school then come to EHOVE for a half day. Some students already have enough credits, so they don’t need to come to EHOVE for the entire day. Basically, EHOVE works with you to make your schedule flexible for just about anything you need for credits, working a job in your field or even sports.

EHOVE for Your Senior Year? By Brittany Miller Global Business Management • South Central HS with Thorn Wiese Culinary Arts • Vermilion HS Coming to EHOVE was a great decision. This is my first year here as a Senior in my Senior-only program, Global Business Management. (That’s already changed - from now on it will be a two-year program for future students!) You can come to EHOVE as a Senior for most every program.

I thought that it was going to be difficult to adjust into the new environment, make new friends and go to a new school, but it wasn’t! After the first couple of days it felt natural . . . like I belonged. I can still do things I love, like Academic Challenge at my partner school and keeping in touch with old friends. Overall, I don’t regret going to EHOVE for my Senior year.
