Telemedicine Congress Telemedicine has gained prominence as a channel to extend access to healthcare to every individual – a reality in India. The Telemedicine Society of India (TSI) is celebrating 10 years and organising its 7th International Telemedicine Congress, featuring healthcare leaders from all over the world in the field of tele-health & m-Health to discuss and deliberate on the roadmap for the way forward. The three-day conference-cum exhibition will be held from November 11-13, 2011 in Mumbai, Maharashtra

he 7th annual Congress is a mega international event, with the theme “Tele-health 2.0 - Taking beyond the Pilot Phase” and “Leveraging Technology for Chronic Diseases Management” this year. This International Congress is being supported by national telemedicine associations of over 32 countries including the American Telemedicine Association, ISFTEH, Care Continuum Alliance, and Disease Management Association of India among many others. The Congress is expecting over 600 delegates from over 30 countries. The three day congress will have speakers from USA, Europe, Middle East and India, and will include over 600 practitioners, providers, payers, patient groups and policy makers. The whole idea behind this international congress is to bring people with common interests on the same platform, showcase commercially deployable tele-health solutions and come out with actionable inputs for the policy makers, industry and practitioners.

tion on suppliers and technology details, TSI has taken a pro-active role to collate a comprehensive and in-depth compendium of market analysis and suppliers and vendors of key equipments the medical community. “For the first time we have compiled the Tele-health Report 2011 that will serve as a reference point for activities related to m-Health and eHealth in India. The first report will be released post the Telemedicon’11 and will be launched at this Congress. However, to ensure latest information is disseminated, the report will be updated and released every year at the TSI Annual Congress,” informs Rajendra Gupta, Chairman-Organising Committee -International Telemedicine Congress - Telemedicon’11. The mission of the report is to strengthen awareness on the many benefits and possibilities of using a telemedicine platform for healthcare delivery in a vast country like India. The report will be shared with health ministers of all the 54 members of Commonwealth nations, besides health ministers of all the states in India and leading corporate across the region to add fire to the campaign.
