أوضح مصدر بالشركة القابضة لمصر للطٌران لـ"الوطن" ،أن أسعار تذاكر العمرة االسترشادٌة التً طرحتها الشركة أمس ،شملت 4شرائح من األسعار ،تعتمد على مواعٌد السفر والعودة وخط سٌر الرحلة السعر ،األول بـ 5570جنٌها للمتجه إلى جدة ،والثانً 5780جنٌها للمعتمر المتجه إلى المدٌنة المنورة ،أما إذا كان ٌوم السفر والعودة مرتبط بالخمٌس والجمعة، فالتذكرة ٌصل سعرها فً حالة سفره إلى جدة لـ 5660جنٌها ،أما إذا كان متجها إلى المدٌنة المنورة ٌصل سعر التذكرة إلى 5850جنٌها. وأشار إلى أن أسطول الشركة جاهز تماما لبدء موسم سفر المعتمرٌن ،فً حالة بدء حجز شركات السٌاحة إلعداد الرحالت لنقل المعتمرٌن ،مشٌرا إلى أنه فً بداٌة التشغٌل ،ستعتمد الشركة على جدول التشغٌل المنتظم ،حٌث ٌتم تسٌٌر 10رحالت إلى جدة ،و 5رحالت إلى المدٌنة المنورة.

محروس هنداوي _عبدالعظٌم حشٌش أعلنت مصادر بشركة مصر للطٌران عن هبوط الطائرة الجدٌدة، والتً وصلت إلى مطار القاهرة األحد الماضً ،وانضمت رسمٌا للعمل ضمن أسطول الشركة ،فً مطار بٌروت الدولً حاملة رقم .713 وأضافت المصادر أنه من المقرر عودة الرحلة إلى القاهرة مرة أخرى خالل الساعات المقبلة حاملة رقم ،714وذلك فً ثانً رحالتها الجوٌة منذ انضمامها للعمل بأسطول الشركة.
كانت شركة مصر للطٌران أعلنت مساء األحد الماضً ،عن وصول ثانً طائراتها ضمن صفقة تعاقدت علٌها مع شركة بوٌنج لشراء 9 طائرات بصفقة تقدر 864ملٌون دوالر.

أكد مصدر مالحى بمطار القاهرة الدولى أنه من المقرر أن تسٌر الشركة الوطنٌة مصر للطٌران ،الٌوم الخمٌس 211 ،رحلة من وإلى مختلف العواصم العربٌة والعالمٌة والمدن الداخلٌة المصرٌة ،لنقل أكثر من 20 ألف راكب مصرى وأجنبى إلى وجهاتهم. وأفاد مصدر مالحى أن مصر للطٌران تسٌر 107طائرة من مطار القاهرة الدولى لنقل نحو 10آالف و 230راكب إلى العواصم العربٌة والعالمٌة والمدن الداخلٌة المصرٌة ،كما تسٌر مصر للطٌران 104رحلة من العواصم العربٌة والعالمٌة والمدن الداخلٌة المصرٌة إلى مطار القاهرة لنقل نحو 10آالف و 367راكب. وأوضح المصدر أن معظم الرحالت التى أقلعت من مطار القاهرة الدولى ومن المطارات الخارجٌة والداخلٌة متجهة إلى القاهرة شهدت انتظا ًما فى مواعٌد االقالع والوصول حتى اآلن وحسب جداول التشغٌل المقررة.

الخطوط الجوٌة التركٌة تطلق رحالت جوٌة بٌن أنطالٌا والجزائر
تعتزم شركة الخطوط الجوٌة التركٌة ،تسٌٌر رحالت جوٌة بٌن والٌة أنطالٌا جنوب تركٌا والعاصمة الجزائرٌة الجزائر. وذكرت الخطوط الجوٌة التركٌة فً بٌان ،أن الخطوط ستطلق ثالث رحالت أسبوعٌا بٌن أنطالٌا والجزائر فً الـ 8من تموزٌ /ولٌو القادم بحسب ترك برس. 120دولة وتسٌر الخطوط الجوٌة التركٌة ،رحالت نحو 296نقطة فً 120دولة حول العالم.
وستساهم الرحالت التً ستنظمها شركة الخطوط الجوٌة التركٌة بٌن والٌة أنطالٌا والجزائر فً تعزٌز قطاع السٌاحة فً الوالٌة التً تعتبر واحدة من أهم المدن السٌاحٌة فً تركٌا.

شهدت حركة مطار القاهرة الدولى ،الٌوم الخمٌس ،إلغاء 6رحالت جوٌة دولٌة ،لعدم جدواها اقتصادٌا وقله عدد ركابها ،ومشاكل فى جدول تشغٌل الرحالت. وأفادت مصادر مالحٌة بمطار القاهرة ،أن سلطات المطار تلقت 4 إخطارات من الشركة المصرٌة العالمٌة بإلغاء رحلتى 106و112 المتجهتان إلى ٌنبع ،و 486المتجهة إلى القصٌم ،و 905المتجهة إلى جدة ،لقلة الركاب.
وأضافت المصادر أن شركة النٌل للطٌران أرسلت إخطارٌن بإلغاء رحلتها 113المتجهة إلى ٌنبع ،و 145المتجهة إلى حائل. وقامت سلطات المطار بالتنسٌق مع شركات الطٌران لسفر ركاب تلك الرحالت على طائرات آخرى.

أقلعت منذ قلٌل من مطار القاهرة الدولى رحلة الخطوط الجوٌة الٌمنٌة رقم 607المتجهة إلى مدٌنة سٌئون الٌمنٌة بعد تأخرها 3ساعات بسبب انتظار اإلذن بإقالعها من مطار الوصول. وقال مصدر مالحى مسئول ،إنه كان من المقرر إقالع الطائرة صباحا ،وتم التواصل مع قٌادة قوات التحالف الساعة 4:00 ً العربى لعبور أجواء االشتباكات مع الحوثٌٌن ،وتم السماح لها باإلقالع بعد استضافة ركابها.

األمن الوطنً ٌلغً تصارٌح 50موظ ًفا فً مطار القاهرة عمرو المزٌدي كشفت مصادر أمنٌة مطلعة ،أن سلطات مطار القاهرة ،أوقفت 50موظفا من المتخصصٌن فى متابعة األعمال بمهبط المطار عن العمل ،وتم إخطار األمن لتنفٌذ القرار.وأوضحت المصادر ،أن جهاز األمن الوطنى ،فحص ملفات جمٌع الموظفٌن فىالمطار ،وأثبت أن الموقوفٌن متورطون فى قضاٌا تحرٌضٌة ،وأنهم شاركوا فى تظاهرات مضادة للدولة على فترات متباعدة وفى أوقات مختلفة.وقالت المصادر ،إن جهاز األمن الوطنى ،أوصى بعدم دخولهم إلى مهبط مطار القاهرة مرة أخرى ،وعدم تجدٌد التصارٌح الخاصة بهم ،لحٌن االنتهاء من فحص ملفاتهم.وكشفت المصادر ،أنه من المحتمل أن ٌتم استبعاد الخمسٌن موظفا المشار إلٌهم، وتكلٌفهم بأعمال أخرى بعٌدًا عن المهبط؛ نظرا لما ٌمثله عملهم من حساسٌة على األمن القومى المصرى.وتابعت المصادر ،أن جهاز األمن الوطنى بمشاركة جهات سٌادٌة أخرى ،سٌقومون باإلشراف على عملٌة استبدال الموظفٌن المستبعدٌن ،عقب فحص جمٌع الملفات السٌاسٌةالخاصة بهم ،وستشمل عملٌات الفحص األقارب من الدرجة األولى والثانٌة والثالثة.وأضافت المصادر ،أن عملٌة االستبعاد من المهبط ال تعنى الفصل، وأنه محض إجراء أمنى وقائى ،ضمن حزمة إجراءات لتأمٌن المطارات فى مصر ،خاصة مع قرب عملٌات تدفق السٌاحة األوروبٌة من جدٌد خالل األٌام القلٌلة المقبلة.

Asky plans to start direct flights between the French capital, home to Air France whose global hub is Charles de Gaulle airport, and its hub in Lome, the capital of Togo, this year or next, said the chief executive Henok Teferra. A Johannesburg service could be introduced by mid-2017, while Asky is also considering a route to Beirut, Lebanon. Passengers could travel from the new cities through Lome to the airline‘s 23 other destinations in west and central Africa, including Accra and Lagos. "Paris is among our priority destinations," Mr Teferra said. "There is significant traffic between France and francophone countries in west and central Africa." The new routes will help Asky grow independently of Ethiopian, which owns a 26 per cent stake in the Togolese carrier and uses Lome‘s Gnassingbe Eyadema airport as a stop off for transatlantic routes to New York and Sao Paulo. Asky will become the second carrier after the French flag carrier‘s parent Air France-KLM to operate a direct Lome-Paris service. The airline is also adding subSaharan Africa routes, to Mauritania and Cape Verde.

Reaching for the skies: Will the new ‗Ghana Airways‘ succeed Successive governments have expressed their desire to behold a plane bearing the flag of Ghana on its tail, an embodiment of the soul of the nation, back in the skies more than a decade after the demise of Ghana Airways. The desire is yet to bear fruit. The processes have been long, rough and beset with policy changes over the past decade. With the pro-business approach of the Akufo-Addo-led administration, the desire to see the black star on the tail of a plane has been ignited. Indeed, the decoupling of the aviation sector from the Ministry of Transport has sent signals to investors that the new administration is keen on developing the growing sector. Major airlines have expressed interest in partnering government to bring back a national airline. Aviation Minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, told the Appointments Committee of Parliament that: ―I have sighted a document that can aid us have our own airline. I have spoken with the Transport Ministry, Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), as well as the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority. Feasibility studies have been done by the previous government. It was done by PricewaterhouseCoopers and I believe we will have a study of the findings and add up what we have received so far and take it from there. I will cross my fingers; the consultant says two years and I said we should do it in a year, if possible. So, between one and two years it will be established.‖

The optimism by the Aviation Minister stems from the feasibility study commissioned by the Transport Ministry and funded by the World Bank using part of a US$30million PPP programme facility The initial pre-feasibility report submitted by the Ministry of Transport to the World Bank for review and approval - otherwise termed "no objection"- came back with the decision not to continue funding the process, as the model contained in the report seemed more commercial than a PPP arrangement. The success or otherwise of the new enterprise will depend on factors such as ownership structure, funding, business model and management, among others. Funding for a new national airline The airline business is a capital intensive endeavour and requires sustained spending over an 18-month period to realise the profitability or otherwise of a new route. Leasing of aircraft, aviation fuel, navigational charges, and ground handling, are all dollar denominated and require huge financial outlay. The Mahama-led administration was emphatic that government was not going to fund but was only seeking a carried interest in the proposed airline. However, some experts questioned the government‘s commitment to establish a new profitable airline. Edmund Yomi Jones, aviation specialist and a former Managing Director of Nigeria Airways, believes that it is possible for Ghana to successfully run a national airline, if the conditions are right. He told the B&FT in Lagos, Nigeria, that: ―The era of state-run airline is not gone. A developing nation is a developing nation. Where is the money? To generate business, governments must put money in the aviation industry. Look at the successful ones; they are owned by their governments. Gov‘t should put money as the owner, and let it be run by professionals. Anything else, I am sorry.‖ Responding to the approach by Ghana in establishing a new national airline, with only a carried interest, he said: ―That means they don‘t believe in it. If you believe in it, you should put money in there. The key issue is that our governments must be seen to be very straight. Put the money there and don‘t touch it. Africa is the future. Take everything to the stock exchange 100 percent government-owned. After sometime, you can sell 20, later you sell another 20. The moment you do that, the big foreign airlines will come and partner with you; they will buy the shares.‖

On his part, another aviation analyst, who is also a former domestic airline operator, said: ―In an industry that requires huge financial outlay, who should commit all the capital needed for this to succeed?‖ Prospective partners The Ministry of Transport, in an Expression of Interest (EOI) published in local newspapers, said: ―The feasibility studies also demonstrated the new national airline will require partnership with an experienced strategic airline partner that has a global distribution network to adequately take advantage of opportunities in the market place‖. The partner, the EOI notes, ought to have good financial strength; technical strength in areas of IT systems and flight operations; maintenance yield and capacity management; good distribution network; and be a member of a global alliance. The EOI, however, said very little, as the structure of the proposed new flag-carrier is currently imprecise. These requirements effectively eliminate indigenous airlines that had expressed interest to partner government in establishing a new flagcarrier -- given their weak network and financial strength at the moment. Sources say major operators, including Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines and Rwand Air, have all expressed interest in partnering government for the airline to take off. Girma Shiferaw, Vice President, Corporate Alliance of Ethiopian Airlines, told the B&FT in Addis Ababa that: ―We have heard that Ghana wants to establish an airline. Normally, we prefer to be partners and to build the airline together, not to own it. We like the concept of being a partner, not an owner. If the opportunity comes, we are ready to partner. As a principle, our door is open for collaboration with any African airline. It doesn‘t matter if it is in East, West or North of the continent.‖ He added that: ―He In partnership, we can always find a way that each partner will have a role to play in the market. Africa is very big and I don‘t think the continent‘s business opportunity is full and there is no room for growth and participation. We need more and more active participants in the airline business,‖ Mr. Shiferaw said.

The airline industry in W/A The airline industry in the West Africa sub-region is growing. However, connectivity gaps still exist due, largely, to a weak aviation policy environment and traffic rights restrictions. Despite the Yamasukuro decision reached some 20 years ago, to liberalise African skies for African Airlines, there are still restrictions that have limited intra-African flights. The navigational charges on the continent, and specifically the West African sub-region, remain high. Henok Tefferra, Managing Director of ASKY Airlines notes that: ―The cost of flying in West Africa is twice as expensive as in East Africa. Ground handling in the sub-region is also 30-40 percent more expensive and also high taxes. These are prohibitive and not conducive for business growth.‖ The challenges notwithstanding, the population of the region presents a great opportunity for any new entrant. With an estimated 350million people, most of which are under 30years, the region is one of the fastest growing aviation blocs on the continent. ―This is the region that has the highest demographics in terms of the population size and a fast-emerging middle class. These are the people with sizeable disposable income who have the ability to travel. So why are we hindering aviation from playing its rightful role?‖ he quizzed. ―It can be a catalyst. Aviation today is responsible for eight million jobs directly or indirectly on the continent, which could be much more,‖ he added. Given the keen interest in establishing a new national airline, the success or otherwise of the new carrier will depend on the modalities for establishing it, funding arrangement, business model and most importantly zero percent tolerance for political interference—one of the major causes of the failure of Ghana International Airlines (GIA) which was established after the demise of Ghana Airways--as we strive to reach for the skies at age 60.

On February 11 this year, Delhi became the first destination in Lufthansa‘s global network to which the A-350 was deployed when its maiden flight landed from Munich. The Airbus A-350 is considered one of the most modern long-haul aircraft as its average jet fuel consumption of 2.9 litres per passenger per 100 km means 25 per cent less fuel than any other comparable aircraft type, airline officials said. Addressing a press conference here, Spohr also announced that Brussels Airlines will start operating between Brussels and Mumbai. Lufthansa recently acquired stake in Brussels Airlines. Besides, Lufthansa will also christen one of its Airbus A-380 aircraft ‗Delhi‘ and increase the frequency of flights between Pune and Germany, Spohr announced. The start of the Brussels Airlines flight to Mumbai and the naming of the Airbus A-380 after Delhi are expected in March this year. ―The first thing that we do after buying Brussels Airlines is to help them fly to India,‖ Spohr announced, adding that naming one of the few Airbus A-380s that Lufthansa has as 'Delhi' points to the Capital as a hub and India as a market for the airline. "At this point we are not approaching any other airline to enter the Star Alliance,‖ the CEO said in response to a question on whether he would be talking to any Indian airline about handholding it to enter the Star Alliance, adding that he would be meeting with his counterpart in AI on Thursday to look at ways of ―intensifying‖ the Indian carrier's membership in the Alliance. The CEO ruled out the Lufthansa Group buying equity in an Indian airline saying that the focus of the German company was on airlines in Europe and that this would continue. Asked whether the recent three-year tie-up finalised between Etihad and Lufthansa will impact the Indian market, Spohr said, ``Etihad group is an investor in Jet Airways so when we look to intensify our cooperation with Etihad we will also look to enhancing the bilateral relationship between Jet Airways and Lufthansa, which already exists but could offer room for more.‖ Spohr also announced that Lufthansa‘s recently launched international low-cost airline will operate to India. Although he declined to specify by when this would happen, he did indicate the possibility of the low-cost airline looking at flights between Germany and Goa. "Germans love to go to Goa. There is no direct service. So we can look at these kinds of destinations,‖ he said.

Known as a world-leading provider of jet and turboprop engines, components and integrated systems for commercial, military, business and general aviation aircraft, the company has been buoyed by record production of new-generation jet engines, engine components and aircraft systems. In addition to investments in the U.S., GE Aviation has also invested in excess of US$1bn in its overseas sites. Within the U.S. investments include US$214 million to establish five new plants in Ellisville, Mississippi; Auburn, Alabama; Asheville, North Carolina; Lafayette, Indiana; and Huntsville, Alabama, creating approximately two million square feet of new manufacturing floor space. Additionally, GE Aviation has upgraded current U.S. operations with expansions in West Jefferson, NC; and Hooksett, New Hampshire, while also establishing centers for emerging technologies including additive manufacturing, digital engine monitoring, ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) and electrical distribution. According to Colleen Athans, Vice President and GM of the GE Aviation Supply Chain: ―GE Aviation is a global company with significant technology capability around the world. At the same time, we are introducing several highly proprietary technologies that are upping our manufacturing capabilities in the United States.‖ GE Aviation has a workforce of approximately 44,600 employees in 47 sites within the U.S. and 38 abroad, which includes more than 25,000 U.S. employees (16,500 in the U.S. supply chain). GE Aviation has a current industrial backlog valued at US$150 billion, while GE Aviation and CFM International, a 50/50 joint company of GE and Safran Aircraft Engines, combined, have a backlog of 15,000-plus jet engines. Approximately two-thirds of GE Aviation‘s over US$25 billion in annual revenues are generated from international sales, and roughly half of a GE commercial jet engine is produced with U.S. content, resulting in a significantly positive trade balance for the U.S.

Royal Jordanian Airlines will receive V2500 LRU components pool support from Turkish Technic, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines. The services and spares that will be provided within the framework of the agreement will be based in Turkish Technic‘s Istanbul base and supply stations throughout the world. The LRU components will be serviced in the state-of-the-art facilities of Turkish Technic at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport. The contract will also serve to enhance the strong business relationship between the two parties and will be a substantial step for Turkish Technic in the Middle East region.

Rolls-Royce reported a net loss of £4.03bn (US$5.02bn) for the full year 2016. The pre-tax loss was £4.6bn, with underlying profit of £813m, down from 2015‘s £1.43bn. The company reported revenue for 2016 of £14.96bn, up 9% from £13.72bn the previous year. In January 2017 Rolls-Royce had entered into Deferred Prosecution Agreements (DPAs) with the UK‘s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and the US Department of Justice (DoJ) and completed a Leniency Agreement with Brazil‘s Ministério Público Federal (MPF). These agreements relate to bribery and corruption involving intermediaries in a number of overseas markets. The agreements will result in the total payment of around £671m, payable under a schedule lasting up to five years. The post-Brexit drop in the pound led to a £4.4bn hedging charge for the year.

RJ President/CEO Captain Suleiman Obeidat said Royal Jordanian's cargo sector is the second fundamental arm of the company. He stressed that RJ is eager to offer state-ofthe-art services to its customers and agents in order to meet their demands and ease freighting services. ―This e-AWB initiative further re-enforces the ongoing partnership between Royal Jordanian and CHAMP and provides real benefits to the community by increasing the digitization of the air cargo process leading to increased efficiency,‖ said Nicholas Xenocostas, Vice President Global Sales and Marketing at CHAMP Cargosystems. ―We are delighted that RJ has taken this step in the region; this will significantly simplify the air freight supply chain process, in addition to greater data accuracy,‘‘ Xenocostas added. Obeidat noted that the system is bound to increase the volume of cargo on the RJ aircraft. He pointed out that the 24-hour self-service application enables cargo agents anywhere in the world to look up flight schedules, check capacity, create real-time bookings and manage bookings completely unassisted. He said that the e-AWB system connects directly with the electronic system that is applied at the Jordanian Customs Department and other concerned parties, thus easing and accelerating clearance of goods and delivery to the consignee. The RJ president praised the state-of-the-art technology and procedures followed at the Jordanian Customs Department, pointing to the cooperation between RJ and the department. The e-AWB system is bound to benefit the Jordan cargo community, including shippers, freight forwarders, customs authority, ground handling agents, customer airlines and Royal Jordanian. In order to acquaint local travel agents with the new system, RJ organized training courses for them about the services and facilities offered by the system. Royal Jordanian cargo sector plays a key role in boosting the economy of the kingdom, and in supporting investment and trade. Qatar Airways confirmed the start date of its scheduled direct service to Skopje, the capital of the Republic of Macedonia, with four-weekly flights beginning 17 July 2017. The airline will fly the A320 aircraft direct to and from Skopje on the four-weekly schedule, featuring a two-class cabin configuration with 12 seats in Business Class and 132 Economy Class seats.

atwonline.com Lufthansa, pilot union negotiators accept recommended settlement Lufthansa and the negotiating committee of pilot union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) have accepted a mediator‘s recommendations to end a pay dispute that has resulted in repeated flight deck crew strikes. The German flag carrier said the settlement, which covers Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo and Germanwings pilots, will add €85 million ($90.1 million) in annual costs. VC said in a statement that assessing the mediator‘s recommended terms was ―very difficult and required maximum compromise from the pilots.‖ It called the settlement ―acceptable,‖ but noted that rank-and-file pilots have the ―final word‖ and will now vote on whether to accept the terms. The voting will conclude by the end of March. The VC negotiating committee is recommending the pilots vote to accept the mediator‘s terms; an affirmative vote would solidify a deal that will last until the end of 2019. To account for the additional costs, Lufthansa said it would adjust its fleet plan by staffing 40 new aircraft with Lufthansa Group pilots not covered by the terms of the deal. Ground staff and cabin crew are not affected. Lufthansa chairman and CEO Carsten Spohr told ATW last week in Brussels that the program under which pilots from the Lufthansa CityLine regional subsidiary are assigned to reconfigured Airbus A340-300s for long-haul flights at lower costs could be expanded. The mediator‘s recommendations include a total 8.7% pay increase for 5,400 Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo and Germanwings pilots in four stages under the following terms: A retroactive 2% pay raise from Jan. 1, 2016, rising to 2.3% as of Jan. 1, 2017; another pay increase of 2.4% from Jan. 1, 2018; and a further 2% pay increase from Jan.1, 2019. The pilots will collectively receive an additional one-off payment of approximately €30 million, which is expected to total around €5,000 to €6,000 per full-time employee.

atwonline.com British Airways Unite cabin crew to strike again Feb. 22-25 British Airways (BA) cabin crew, represented by the Unite union, will strike again Feb. 22-25 in a long-running dispute over pay levels. Unite cabin crew who work for BA‘s London Heathrow-based mixed fleet, which handles both short- and long-haul services, have had 11 days of strike action since the start of the year. The latest strike is for the longest period yet. The airline has met previous bouts of strikes by merging certain Heathrow services, usually on short-haul routes that have multiple daily rotations. It has also leased in aircraft from several other carriers to meet shortfalls. ―For every hour British Airways ‗wet leases‘ an aircraft from another airline to cover striking cabin crew, it costs in the region of £2,000 to £3,000 [$2,500 to $3,750],‖ Unite regional officer Matt Smith said. ―Our estimates put the amount of money British Airways has spent on defending the dispute and poverty pay at £1 million.‖ BA said Feb. 15 that all passengers would get to their destinations, despite the strike. ―To enable all customers to travel, we will be merging a very small number of flights at Heathrow—about 1% of total flights planned,‖ BA said. ―Our pay offer for mixed fleet crew is consistent with deals agreed with Unite for other British Airways colleagues. It also reflects pay awards given by other companies in the UK and will ensure that rewards for mixed fleet remain in line with those for cabin crew at our airline competitors.‖ The airline said it would publish further details on plans for the latest strike action over the weekend of Feb. 18-19.
