don’t survive? These are normal thoughts during the anticipation stage. I repeat, normal. These thoughts do not to diminish the concern you have about your loved one’s health; rather they acknowledge the additional concerns of transition that you may feel. Recognizing this first stage of transition can help provide clarity around our own periods of transition and perhaps increase compassion for those around us experiencing life changes. Are you or someone you care about experiencing change? As a financial advisor, I can help. What I have discovered is that no matter the life changes or transition, the event generally leads to some contemplation around finances. Call me at 602.923.9800 for your complimentary initial consultation, where we can talk about your financial situation and concerns in detail.
ears of working with people experiencing change in their lives has revealed to me that most life transitions are of a personal nature, and that these events often have significant financial impact. This is because life transitions - health issues, new family members, divorce, death, and retirements - can create financial uncertainty. That uncertainty can trigger a transition response. I believe people experience Four Stages of Transition. While there isn’t a timeline for each stage, there are commonalities that provide an opportunity to apply time-tested tools to work through each stage. Today we will explore Stage 1 – Anticipation. ROOSTER TAVERN
O
wned and operated by the Valley’s long-time resident and restauranteur, Jason Horton, The Rooster Tavern Kitchen is .ocated at 14202 N. Scottsdale Rd. in Scottsdale. The Rooster is known by visitors and locals alike to be your upscale local dive bar. Tucked in the corner of the plaza behind retail and other restaurants, it’s easy to miss from Scottsdale road. But don’t let its hidden location hold you back, it is worth tracking down.
The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the décor. Wherever your eye falls there is something interesting to see. From full size motorcycles, to clock toting bucks, to the “Cock of the Month”, there is nothing dull about this place. When you walk in, you will be greeted by a friendly bartender and given your choice of prime seating. The staff is well versed in their menu knowledge and more than helpful in suggestions. With choices including comfort foods such as mac n’ cheese, fresh buffalo chips, salads, meatballs and wings, keeping your mouth from getting your stomach in trouble will be a test of will. This month we thought we would highlight a particular menu item. As we were there for lunch, we thought a fan favorite, the Rueben, would be perfect. For those of you on a lunch break, the time from order to table was relatively quick. The Rueben itself looked as appetizing
as it sounded on the menu; a mouthwatering combination of thinly sliced corned beef, Gruyere cheese, house-made sauerkraut and 1000 Island dressing on grilled Jewish rye bread. That was the description on the menu…here’s how it looked on the plate: The perfect amount of ruby red corned beef, gooey cheese, amazing smelling sauerkraut and a thin spread of 1000 Island dressing all piled high on two perfectly prepared pieces of rye bread. The taste? Incredible! From the first bite to the last, we were hooked. In all honestly, we can say this will now be one of our favorite sandwiches. For those of you watching your waistline, an accompaniment of a side salad is a great choice. All in all, the perfect amount of food without being overly full. For lunch or dinner, or just a drink with friends, The Rooster Tavern Kitchen has a fun, friendly atmosphere with a menu full of so many things to try that you will be coming back for unique experience for years. So, whether you are looking for a great lunch time stop, a casual dinner, a relaxing drink or simply want to enjoy some good music (live or Memorex), The Rooster Tavern Kitchen is the place for locals and visitors alike.
