At Vero Chicago Pizza, we’ve always prided ourselves on delivering the best pizza in town — fresh, flavorful, and made with love. But we knew that great food alone wasn’t enough to stand out in such competitive market. That’s when we decided to partner with the independent Newsmedia for our local advertising, and the results have been incredible!

Since we started running ads in the Gilbert and Chandler editions, we’ve seen a noticeable increase in foot traffic. Our weekday lunch specials are getting more attention, and we’ve had more families and new customers coming in to try us out. The exposure we’ve gotten has been invaluable — it feels like our restaurant has become a true local favorite!

The newspaper’s readers really resonate with the personal, community-oriented approach we’ve taken in our ads. We’ve received so many positive comments from customers who say they saw our ad and decided to give us a try.

Thanks to the Independent Newsmedia, we’re not just a pizzeria — we’re part of the community, and it’s been amazing to see the growth we’ve experienced. We highly recommend advertising here to anyone looking to connect with local customers!

Phoenix Art Museum gala raises record-breaking $2.2 million

PHOENIX ART MUSEUM WELCOMED NEARLY 500 GUESTS ON FRIDAY, APRIL 11, FOR ITS ANNUAL GALA FUNDRAISER THE PARTY IN THE GARDEN, FOLLOWED BY THE LATE-NIGHT AFTERPARTY. This year’s event celebrated the Arizona premiere of internationally acclaimed exhibition The World of Anna Sui and brought in $2.2 million in support of the Museum’s exhibitions, arts education programs, free-access hours, and vital operations — the most raised in the gala’s nearly 20-year history. The record-breaking event was chaired by Jordan Rose and Rob Walton and Jay Franke and David Herro, with afterpARTy cochairs Andrew and Jennifer Cooper.

“On behalf of everyone at Phoenix Art

Museum, I extend our heartfelt thanks to the chairs, guests, and supporters of this year’s pARTy in the Garden, including designer Anna Sui who joined us to celebrate the Arizona premiere of The World of Anna Sui,” said Jeremy Mikolajczak, the Museum’s Sybil Harrington Director and CEO. “Each year, the gala brings in invaluable support for our mission, and this year, we are humbled to be the recipients of a record-breaking display of generosity, which included a $1 million gift from Jordan Rose and Rob Walton to ensure the longevity of our contemporary art program.”

Set beneath the stars in the Dorrance Sculpture Garden, the gala event captured the spirit of “rock ‘n’ roll romance” inspired by the designs of iconic American designer Anna Sui. Guests arrived in

striking fashions and enjoyed immersive décor, an elegant culinary experience courtesy of Tarbell’s, and a private preview of The World of Anna Sui before it opened to the public. During the evening, the Museum announced for the first time a $1 million gift from Jordan Rose and Rob Walton to launch the Rob Walton, Jordan Rose, and Rose Law Group Fund for Contemporary Art. The endowment fund will provide ongoing support for contemporary art exhibitions, educational programs, and scholarship, strengthening the Museum’s longevity in this critical area. This gift, coupled with $1.2 million raised through individual ticket sales, table sales, and donations, brought the Museum to an astounding $2.2 million raised in behalf of the institution.

Following dinner, the Museum trans-

formed for The afterpARTy, an exclusive, museum-after-dark experience that this year was chaired by Jennifer and Andrew Cooper. Guests enjoyed a live performance by international electronic music sensation Felix Cartal, along with custom cocktails, late-night bites, desserts, and art-inspired activities. All proceeds for The afterpARTy also benefit the Museum’s exhibitions, education programs, free-access times, and operations.

Generous Grant Enhances STEAM Education in PV

PVSchools was selected by Honeywell and the Arizona Diamondbacks as a recipient of a $5,000 grant to enhance the district’s robotics library in support of the STEAM initiative in Paradise Valley.

Integration Facilitator. This marked a fantastic way to showcase to the community how hard PVSchools has been working to develop its STEAM and robotics program.

Before the Diamondbacks game on Sunday, May 18, representatives of PVSchools accepted a $5,000 check on the field on behalf of the district. Among the representatives were STEAM and Science Curriculum Specialists, Krysta Perez and Robin Hayward, along with Pam Fulk, the STEM and CREST Coordinator for Paradise Valley High School, and Christy Tenney, the district IT

It was a tremendous achievement for PVSchools to be selected from all the applicants. The awarded funds will undoubtedly be put to good use. After receiving the funds, class sets of robots will be purchased for schools to check out and use in their classrooms. The district will monitor the usage and assess how it positively impacts the students.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this happen, and to all students who will benefit from this award.

COMING SOON! 2025 VALLEY FAVORITES

We are highlighting business favorites across the

This year we have separate ballots –West Valley, East Valley, North Valley, and Fountain Hills. Our readers will nominate the best businesses in our communities to tell us who they want to see in the voting round. Only top 5 nominations move on to the voting round.

Hello Neighbor!

HI MY NAME IS... Sarah Duncan

I’VE LIVED IN ARIZONA FOR... 46 years. It is the perfect place for me to live because I love all our natural wonders and the laid-back people and atmosphere here in the Valley!

PERSONAL BACKGROUND

HIGHLIGHTS... I was born and raised in Phoenix, and I am a fourth-generation Arizonan. I attended Santa Clara University in the Bay area and lived in Portland, Oregon for a few years before moving back to the Valley to be near my family. I am an avid tennis player. I played at Xavier College Preparatory (class of 1996), on my college team and the Junior National Circuit. I have a passion for travel and have been extremely fortunate to travel throughout North and South America, Southeast Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Australia. In my free time, I enjoy hiking,

scuba diving, running, reading and spending time with family and friends.

BUSINESS NAME AND LOCATION...

The Beau Collective is a unique fitness, retail and social flex space located at 5115 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix. Anticipated to open in summer 2025, this will be the perfect “third space” for Valley residents to build community and have fun. Visit www. thebeaucollectivephx.com/ for more.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT AND WHY...

I am extremely excited for The Beau Collective to open this summer and for the “third place” that will soon be available for all to come and shop, work out and gather.

A TYPICAL DAY IN MY LIFE INCLUDES...

A meditation and hike in the morning before work, connecting with fosters to check in on how the rescue animals are doing and usually an evening run with one of the local run clubs in Phoenix.

THE PERFECT DAY… is hiking with friends and Koa in one of our gorgeous mountain ranges in Arizona.

MY FAVORITE LOCAL NONPROFIT IS… the Arizona Humane Society and Caring for Canines, a non-profit 501©3 animal rescue organization I started in 2003. We rescue dogs off of the euthanasia list at shelters throughout the state as well as take in animals from people who can no longer care for their pets.

WHAT I DO... This summer, I will run day-to-day operations for the Phoenix location of The Beau Collective. The 6,600 square-foot Phoenix-area building will be home to HIIT-style training classes, one-of-a-kind retail shopping as well as a place for community and connection. There is a private room perfect for intimate business meetings, personal growth sessions, community workshops and inspirational and social connections. The business has been flourishing in Park City, Utah for the past 10 years and was the brainchild of one of my best friends and classmates from Xavier College Prep.

WHAT I LIKE MOST ABOUT DOING

BUSINESS HERE... Even though Maricopa County is one of the largest counties in the country, there is still the feeling of a small town in the business community. People are genuinely willing to help each other out, share ideas and provide support and advice.

MY FAMILY IS... big and so much fun! My extended family, including my grandparents who are in their 90s, my 11 aunts and uncles and 14 cousins (plus all their kids), still get together for the holidays.

ONE THING I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT...

Getting outside in nature every day to reset and enjoy the peace and serenity of our beautiful Valley surroundings.

WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I WANTED TO BE… a veterinarian. Since I was young, I have always wanted to help animals.

THE ONE PERSON WHO MOTIVATES ME… Jane Goodall for her inspirational work with animal studies, conservation efforts and animal welfare issues.

THE LAST THING THAT MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WAS… my silly rescue puppy Koa who gets into all sorts of mischief and is very dramatic.

THE BEST GIFT I EVER RECEIVED WAS… a trip after college graduation to Paris with one of my best friends from high school. This adventure inspired my love of travel and experiencing new cultures.

MY DREAM VACATION WOULD BE… Hiking Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with a safari to follow.

THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I’VE EVER RECEIVED… is to find joy and laughter in the small things in everyday life.

Duncan enjoys travel and spending time outdoors. (Submitted photo)

In 30-Minutes I Had a Plan for My Shoulder Pain that Didn’t Require Surgery or Pills

“Iwas losing sleep. I couldn’t get comfortable at night and would wake up constantly. That was the most frustrating part. Everything I was told to do was not helping… the pain was only getting worse.”

Tim, 46, came to us after exhausting every option outside of surgery. A competitive volleyball player, energetic entrepreneur, and father to two boys, Tim took pride in his active lifestyle and was determined to find a solution for his shoulder pain.   Ice packs and heat compresses were no longer helpful, and relying on pain-pills was not an option he wanted to take. He committed to physical therapy for several weeks with little impact, tried dry needling and cortisone injections

without success, and was ultimately told by multiple doctors to stop all activity that aggravated his arm. Tim had done everything his insurance allowed but was still stuck at square one.

WHAT THE OTHER DOCTORS MISSED…

Tim had fallen into what we call “The Gap” — where insurance-based care cycles with no end in sight, surgery isn’t an option, and waiting for the pain to get worse seems like the only choice. Most providers only look for what they know how to treat. But our comprehensive ‘Deep Dive’ approach and expertise allowed us to bridge that gap for Tim.

Using a detailed pain profile, 32-point shoulder inspection, MSK ultrasound scan, and diagnostic injection, we were able to confirm Tim’s SC Joint injury and quickly develop a targeted treatment plan to heal the damaged tissue.

A COMPREHENSIVE SOLUTION, NO SURGERY OR PILLS

In just 4 weeks, the pain improved significantly, allowing Tim to regain his range of motion, sleep soundly at night, and return to the sport he loves:

“My body is performing better than before, and I have resumed playing volleyball — something I didn’t think I would ever be able to do again! If you’re tired of the ‘just hope for the best’ from many in the medical field, and want a complete set of options, Ethos Integrative Medicine is the place to go.”

YOUR NEXT STEP: THE DEEP DIVE FOR A PAIN-FREE SHOULDER You’re one step away from a pain-free shoulder, too! Imagine being able to comfortably sleep in your side again, play catch with your kid, or put on a t-shirt without pain…

Call 480-573-6171 to schedule your Deep Dive with our specialists at Ethos Integrative Medicine and scan the QR code to access our free report, “Shoulder SOS: The Expert Guide to Decoding Your Pain.”

1. Ethos Pain Profile: Identifying the specific characteristics of your pain is the first step to pinpointing exactly where it’s coming from.

2. 32-Point Shoulder Inspection: We thoroughly inspect the movements causing pain, taking us one step closer to eliminating your discomfort.

3. Precision Shoulder Scan: Our advanced in-office MSK ultrasound scan provides a detailed, real-time view of your shoulder’s structures. 4. Ethos Pain Map: A diagnostic injection to confirm the source of pain.

5. Easy-To-Understand Explanation: No complex terms — Just an honest breakdown of your diagnosis, and a personalized strategy to achieve relief.

6. Leave You Better Promise: If by the end of the visit you do not have a better understanding of your pain or what your options are moving forward we will give you a full refund on your visit.

Xtreme Gymnastics celebrates

30 years of fitness and learning.

Photos courtesy of Xtreme Gymnastics

Xtreme Gymnastics just celebrated a major milestone: 30 years in Scottsdale helping kids grow strong in body and mind. The longtime community favorite recently marked the occasion with a high-energy birthday bash filled with flips, fun, and a room full of returning alumni who got their start at the beloved gym.

Aimee Burton started in ballet at age 6, following in her older sister's footsteps. Little did she know that getting kicked out of ballet for doing handstands and cartwheels would lead to the role she's held for 29 years.

Burton is the director and owner of Xtreme Gymnastics in Scottsdale, where kids are inspired to get fit and learn in an exciting environment. Its variety of programs helps children develop the strength and self-esteem they need to succeed.

She began teaching gymnastics part-time in March 1993. "I loved it, quit my job, went full-time, and that was it. I never looked back," says Burton.

HART PRINCIPLES IN PRACTICE

"HART principles are what set us apart," Burton says. "It's not only about gymnastics. We try to instill character-building along with all the fun of doing gymnastics."

Burton explains that every month, the gymnastics coaches focus on a different HART principle: holding hard work, attitude, responsibility, and teamwork. Honesty in word and action. A positive attitude has dramatic effects and is contagious. Responsibility is encouraged by empowering kids to make choices, positive or negative. And teamwork is being united in developing confident, healthy, responsible children. Each coach takes opportunities throughout the month to point out examples of kids exhibiting a HART principle.

"As they get further along in gymnastics, kids realize recognizing strengths and weaknesses helps develop the growth mindset," says Burton.

Besides character-building, gymnastics naturally promotes physical development. "The movement across the body's center line divides it left to right, and crossing the midline promotes communication from one side of the brain to the other," Burton says.

"In all of our programs, we deliberately encourage upside down and crossing the midline more than most activities. It's been scientifically proven to improve kids' academic performance."

GYMNASTICS FOR LITTLE ONES

Xtreme Gymnastics coaches encourage children ages 2 to 4 to move in various ways, helping them learn to roll, swing, jump, and balance while enhancing their social awareness.

"Kids are naturally curious and energetic, and they explore the world in many ways," says Burton. "These types of fun and safe 'get the wiggles out' classes support participating in group activities and build the comfort of going upside down and crossing the midline."

GYMNASTICS FOR AGES 5 AND OLDER

Beginning at age 5, kids move through balance beams, bars, trampolines, and more, learning key gymnastics skills.

"From age 5 and up, you're not creating new pathways," Burton says. "You're making the pathways go faster but not making the pathways that were made during the ages of 2 to 4."

If kids have the interest or natural ability, they can join a competitive gymnastics team next.

TURNING ENERGY INTO AMBITION

Ninja Zone classes help energetic kids from ages 3 to 12 move through a fusion of obstacle training, martial arts, gymnastics, and freestyle movement. Gym coaches help "ninjas" channel their energy and learn to scale, spin, roll, flip, and kick.

"Ninja Zone is geared toward capturing boys' attention," explains Burton. "It has the same benefits for any child but registers better with boys and their parents."

Burton says Xtreme Xplosion is the next step up from the Ninja Zone. Students move through exercises uniquely designed to build strength, balance, and explosive power and develop and channel their athletic abilities.

"It's development before athleticism," says Burton. "Several students are top in their sports locally and have gone on to play in the NCAA. It's a way of supplementing whatever sport they're taking, giving them an edge. We have to lead in a way of using fun that you can't get using a treadmill or running laps on a track."

FIT-N-FUN DAY CAMPS

Fit-N-Fun Day Camps promote health and fitness while kids have a blast. Each week, children ages 3 to 12 will enjoy gymnastics, trampoline, group challenge activities, obstacle courses, team sports, relay races, inflatables, and more.

Spring, summer, and break Fit-N-Fun Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with drop-off half- or fullday options. Meanwhile, summer camp registration is open.

"Our staff is high energy, USA Gymnastics Safety Certified, and come with complete background checks," says Burton.

Xtreme Gymnastics follows the same calendar as the Scottsdale Unified School District so kids can exercise and learn during summer, fall, winter, and spring breaks. Families can also take advantage of Parents' Night Out and birthday parties, open gyms, and more.

"I'm looking forward to our continued growth and how we do it," says Burton. "It's not what we do, it's how we do it."

Xtreme Gymnastics is located at 14000 N. Hayden Rd. #102, in Scottsdale. For more information, visit xtremegymnastics.com or call 480-596-3543.

The Xtreme Gymnastics coaching family, whose children all got their start at Xtreme Gymnastics, joined in celebrating the Scottsdale gym’s 30th anniversary.

Community New IKEA opens, another planned in Phoenix

IKEA has announced plans to open a new store in Phoenix in early 2026, marking the Swedish furniture giant’s third location in the Valley.

The new store will be located at the southwest corner of Tatum Boulevard and Cactus Road, directly across from the Paradise Valley Mall redevelopment. At 75,000 square feet, IKEA Phoenix will be a singlestory store offering home furnishing accessories and about 75 small furniture items.

IKEA Phoenix will include over 3,000 articles for immediate take-away and as well as a Swedish deli, serving hot and cold food in-store or on the go.

Larger pieces such as sofas, beds and kitchen ranges won’t be available in-store, but customers can order them online for free pickup or home delivery for a fee, according to a company press release. Arizona

Market Manager Kori Thorstenson said IKEA Phoenix will be a “smaller format store” compared to the 375,000-square-foot IKEA Tempe that opened in 2004.

The Phoenix store is part of IKEA’s broader strategy to expand access and convenience for customers across the state.

“Our ambition is to furnish all the homes in the state of Arizona,” Thorstenson said. “I have great feelings that there’s much more to come.”

IKEA made the announcement during the grand opening ceremony of the IKEA Scottsdale at The Promenade Wednesday, May 7.

PLAN & ORDER POINT NOW OPEN

Is it really a buyer’s market? Let’s talk inventory, price drops and what they really mean

Rightnow, housing inventory is at its highest point in the past 10 years. That’s a significant shift — and yes, it’s creating more opportunity for buyers. But before you assume the market is softening across the board, let’s take a closer look at what the numbers really tell us.

PRICE REDUCTIONS DON’T ALWAYS MEAN VALUES ARE FALLING

You’ve likely noticed more homes with price drops lately — but that doesn’t necessarily mean home values are declining. More often than not, these are homes that came on the market overpriced. With higher inventory, buyers have more choices, and overpricing becomes obvious fast. Sellers are adjusting to meet the market, not necessarily taking big losses.

MEDIAN SALES PRICE DOWN SLIGHTLY — BUT CONTEXT MATTERS

Yes, the median sales price has dipped — from

$450,000 to $446,990 over the past month — a modest 0.7% decline. But that doesn’t tell the whole story. That small change reflects the types of homes being sold more than a universal drop in value. More lower-priced homes have closed recently, which naturally brings the median down, even if values in specific neighborhoods are holding strong.

PENDING SALES SUGGEST A PRICE REBOUND

There’s some encouraging news in the pending data: As of May 15, pending listings show an average list price per square foot of $323.84 — up 0.5% from April 15. That could indicate we’re in for a slight rebound in closed pricing after a couple of months of sharper declines. Again, keep in mind that this doesn’t really reflect that prices are increasing, rather an increase in activity in higher priced homes.

Also worth noting: 98.5% of pending listings are normal sales. Only 0.4% are REOs (bank-owned) and just 1.1% are pre-foreclosures or short sales. While foreclosure-related activity has ticked up slightly, it’s still historically very low.

ACTIVITY SLOWER OVERALL — BUT HOMES ARE STILL SELLING

Overall transaction volume is down and homes are taking longer to sell on average — but they are selling, and prices are holding steady when homes are priced right.

For example, we currently have two listings under contract in Desert Ridge:

• One sold after just 13 days on the market, compared to the average of 34 days for similar homes — and at a record-breaking price per square foot.

• Another home we listed in Aviano went under contract after 34 days, while the average for comparable homes is 94 days.

These aren’t anomalies — they’re proof that buyers are still active and ready to move when homes are well-presented, well-priced, and marketed strategically.

THE TAKEAWAY: GO LOCAL & DIG DEEPER

Yes, buyers have more negotiating power than they’ve had in years — but we are not in the midst of a price crash. This is just a more balanced market. The headlines won’t give you the full picture. You need to compare similar homes in the same neighborhood to understand what’s really happening.

BOTTOM LINE: HOMES ARE STILL SELLING

Prices are still strong. And with the right strategy, both buyers and sellers can succeed in this market, but it may take more patience than we’ve had to have in the last few years. If you’re wondering how these trends affect your goals, let’s talk — we’ll go deeper than the headlines and get to the truth behind the numbers.

Duties of the Trustees of Your Revocable Trust

For most of our clients, the estate plan centers on the Revocable Living Trust. When establishing your Trust, one of the most important decisions is who will be your successor Trustee. During your lifetime and while you have mental capacity, you serve as the Trustee. If you are incapacitated, or upon your death, your Trust appoints a successor trustee to step into your shoes to carry out your wishes.

MAKING SURE YOUR TRUSTEE UNDERSTANDS THE JOB

When selecting your Successor Trustee, it’s important that you assure yourself that they understand what they will be called upon to do. Whoever you choose, be sure to ask them if they are willing to serve. Next, be sure they understand the role they may play.

SERVING AS TRUSTEE DURING YOUR INCAPACITY

The first time your successor trustee may serve is if you are incapacitated. Make sure your trustee realizes that they may begin to serve while you are still alive but unable to manage your own finances, and that they know what you want. The job of Trustee during incapacity could be a short stint or a long haul. Be sure your Trustee is up for the task either way.

SERVING AS TRUSTEE TO ADMINISTER YOUR TRUST AFTER DEATH

Your Successor Trustee will also wrap up your financial affairs at your death.

Assure that your Successor Trustee understands what types of property they may have to administer. Will they be selling a house here and in another state? Do you own a business or rental properties? Have you inherited mineral interests? Do you have many different accounts and brokerage accounts — or Bitcoin? While you don’t have to disclose all your finances to your Successor Trustee, be sure they understand the extent of what they may have to address when they begin to serve at your death.

SERVING AS TRUSTEE FOR YOUR BENEFICIARIES

Your Successor Trustee may also be managing a trust created on your death for one or more beneficiaries, especially if you have minor children. Talking you’re your trustee about what you expect and what your wishes are for your beneficiaries.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OUR FREE CONSULTATION — OR OUR TRUSTEE TRAINING WEBINAR

Selecting a trustee and talking with them about your plan is important. If you need an estate plan or want a review of your current plan, take advantage of a free initial consultation with one of our three attorneys by calling the office at (602) 375-6752, or inquire through our website at https:// libbybanks.com/schedule-estateplanning-meeting.

And if your trustee needs training, we are offering a webinar and workbook to train your trustee soon. For our Legacy Care Program Members, this is a free webinar. The fee for nonmembers is $450.

Is Pain Stealing Your Life, One Day at a Time?

In the next 10 years, the surgical industry is expected to double. From joint replacements to spinal surgeries, more and more people are being told their only option is invasive procedures. Yet in the U.S., we already spend as much on back pain annually as we do on cancer, diabetes, and arthritis combined—without meaningful progress.

The worst part? These surgeries are far from guaranteed to restore your quality of life. Our reactive healthcare system focuses on managing symptoms instead of solving problems at their root. If you want to protect your quality of life, the time to take control is now.

“They Told Me I’d Have to Stop— But Now I’m Back to Doing What I Love”

For many people, persistent pain doesn’t just steal your mobility—it shrinks your world. Whether it’s playing with your kids or grandkids, traveling, or enjoying hobbies, pain can make even small moments feel out of reach.

That’s why local doctor Tom Padilla wrote his #1 bestselling book, Solving the Root Cause of Pain. Inspired by his own battle with undiagnosed chronic pain in his 20s, and countless stories from patients - Dr. Padilla created this easy-to-read book to help others escape the cycle of temporary fixes and failed treatments.

“Many people we see at my clinic have been told their pain is just a part of getting older, or that nothing more can be done,” says Dr. Padilla. “But most of the time, pain isn’t inevitable—it’s a signal that something deeper is going on. You just need the right tools to address it.”

“Pain Isn’t Just Physical—It Steals the Best Parts of Your Life”

The book offers practical tools and insights for those struggling to find answers. Readers will discover:

•The Root Cause of Pain: Why most treatments fail and how to address the real issue.

•Breaking Free from Temporary Fixes: How to avoid the cycle of painkillers, injections, and short-term solutions.

•The Hidden Cause of Stiffness: Why stretching and massage don’t fix the problem— and what to do instead.

•Finding the Right Providers: How to identify skilled providers and spot red flags before wasting time or money.

•Taking Control of Your Health: Simple strategies to stay active, prevent injuries, and enjoy life without fear of pain returning.

•Why MRI’s and X-Rays Can Be Misleading: Why relying on imaging alone is risky.

Each chapter provides clear, actionable advice to help you find answers the healthcare system hasn’t been able to give you.

“What If You’re Not ‘Just Getting Older’—But You’ve Got the Wrong Diagnosis?”

“Many chronic injuries can heal if treated at the root cause,” says Dr. Padilla. “But far too often, healthcare providers miss the mark by focusing only on symptoms. People end up stuck, wasting time on ineffective treatments, and feeling like their pain will never go away.”

One example is Kathy, a 50-year-old grandmother who had tried everything from chiropractic care to massage therapy, only to be left frustrated and in pain. After working with Dr. Padilla’s team to uncover the root cause of her pain, Kathy was back to hiking, playing with her grandkids, and living life without fear of injuries holding her back.

Dr. Padilla’s book not only helps readers identify the root cause of their pain but alsoteaches them how to evaluate whether a treatment is working. His goal is to provide clarity in a system that often leaves patients in the dark.

“Stop Losing Time with the Wrong Treatments”

Dr. Padilla knows firsthand how frustrating it is to feel dismissed by the healthcare system. That’s why he’s offering Solving the Root Cause of Pain for free—to give as many people as possible the tools they need to take control of their health. For a limited time, you can request a free copy with

no obligations and read it in the comfort of your home.

“There’s too much misinformation and too many people suffering needlessly,” Dr. Padilla explains. “My goal is to put good information into as many hands as possible, whether it’s understanding their pain or learning how to find the right provider, this book is about giving people the tools to take control of their health.”

If you’re tired of losing moments that matter most to pain or worry, this book could be the first step toward lasting relief.

SUDOKU BY METRO CREATIVE SERVICES

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

Sudoku puzzles are formatted as a 9x9 grid, broken down into nine 3x3 boxes. To solve a sudoku, the numbers 1 through 9 must fill each row, column and box. Each number can appear only once in each row, column and box. You can figure out the order in which the numbers will appear by using the numeric clues already provided in the boxes. SOLUTION ON PAGE

Havoc

A police officer finds himself heading into the darkest corners of his city to save a politician’s son.

Gareth Evans newest film, Havoc, is filled with action sequences easily rivaling his early works. However, this film overall film seems to lack a certain level of impact. The more story-centric, meandering paced plot was simply unable to take us anywhere but Dullsville. Even the actors, as good as they are, were hard pressed to give enough to elevate the thin material. By the end, it doesn’t feel like the typical tension as to who lives or dies but instead a sad indifference. Not a disaster, but certainly disappointing given the potential.

Nonnas

Following his mother’s passing, a man decides to open a restaurant featuring Italian grandmothers as chefs.

There is nothing outright offensive about Nonnas, everyone and everything in it is competent in an easily digestible story. That bland recipe is also its drawback. There’s no urgency to the stress of opening this restaurant. No feeling it could all fall apart. Even the drama between the titular Nonnas isn’t overly engaging. The attempt at humor falls short too of any genuine laughs, only drawing polite chuckles. The film seemed to be on autopilot. Making most obvious and easy choices creating a digestible but forgettable feature.

Another Simple Favor

Stephanie finds herself entwined with deceit and murder after being invited to Emily’s wedding.

Paul Feig is this film’s biggest kneecap. He does not go beyond his comedic roots to find a the muchneeded balance between comedy and thriller. It’s shot plainly, with no sense of mood or atmosphere creating no feel of danger around the next corner. Unfortunately, what the film lacks in thrill is not made up for in comedy. The characters come across as annoying and act in an obnoxious manner. A film of starts and stops, it feels much longer than it is. A sequel that falls short of its predecessor, and it shows.

G20

The U.S. President goes back to her military roots protecting her family and colleagues at a summit overrun by terrorists.

Without a doubt, the best part of the film is Viola Davis. The actor is fully committed to the role showing a dramatic prowess that will surely make her an Oscar contender. The film itself could use some help. Clearly stretching the limits of its budget and in the hands of people who aren’t as experienced in the genre. Many of the other actors are not on the same level as Davis. While all provide a valiant effort, the moments without Davis feel like a huge dip in quality. A story like this was never going to

make for an all-time winner, but it’s hard not to feel as if in another production’s hands there would have been a more entertaining version to be had.
