Hope & A Future

Founded in 2004, Hope & A Future is celebrating 19 years of supporting Arizona foster kids. We receive no government funding and fully operate through donations and the Foster Care Tax Credit. Your support allows us to form relationship-based connections through our summer camps, life-skills training, mentoring, tutoring and educational scholarships.

Beginning at summer camp, where we have served over 3,600 foster children over the years, we begin walking life with them as we stay connected with them throughout the year at our monthly events and celebrate holidays, birthdays and graduations with them during the year. We make a difference one foster child at a time. Through our intentional programs, we improve foster kids' long-term outcomes by offering them hope and a brighter future.

Some of our annual events include:

Cars 101: Do you know how to change a tire or check your oil, what about how auto insurance works? If you do, most likely you learned from your parents or a family member. Many of our youth miss out on these life lessons, so our Cars 101 event educates our kids about basic car care knowledge and minor car maintenance.

Cooking 101: Some of our kids have never had the opportunity to learn to cook, so our Cooking 101 event provides them with an opportunity to at least experience a few hours cooking up something nutritious, and well, hopefully delicious.

Finances: What is a budget? Is a credit score important? How much money will be taken from my paycheck for taxes. What are taxes and why do we have to pay them? What exactly is insurance and why do I need it? These are some questions our youth ask, and at this educational event, we provide answers for them.

WHY CONSIDER FOSTERING OR ADOPTION?

Children come into the care of the state through absolutely no fault of their own. And through fostering or adoption, you’re able to help provide a caring, nurturing environment where they can heal from past experiences and trauma and grow to their fullest potential. People who are called to foster or adopt all share one thing in common--the desire to help the most vulnerable children thrive.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Kinship Care

Kinship care is the temporary placement of a child with a family member or someone close to the family. The ultimate goal of kinship care is for the child to reunify with their birth family.

Fostering

Fostering is the temporary placement of a child in your care after their removal from an unfit living environment. The ultimate goal of foster care is reunification with their birth family.

Adoption

Adoption is the permanent placement of a child in your care. You become the legal guardian of the child, and the birth family’s involvement in the child’s life may vary from case to case. There are many Arizona children in need of safe, supportive, and loving homes to help them thrive.
