(Answer on page 7) October 31-November 6, 2019 Beef-on-a-Bun Home Hardware is hosting their 62nd ‘Beefon-a-Bun’ customer appreciation day this Saturday, November 2 from 11 am to 3 pm (or until the beef is gone). This is the 26th time that Al and Lucy have been the hosts. Enjoy tender beef on a bun with pop or coffee. It is one of my favourite free lunches of the year and it seems like many others agree. It is a great event to see many of your friends and neighbours. Donations to STARS will be gratefully accepted.

FireSmart Invermere’s FireSmart Community Meeting is this Tuesday, November 5 at the Columbia Valley Centre. Doors open at 6:30 pm. The meeting runs 7 to 8:30 pm. Refreshments will be served. FireSmart is critical information in our valley and in our province. It is one of the more likely disasters to face around here and the risks can be minimized by proper preparation. But that is for the meeting, not here, haha.

This Sunday, November 3 is our next installment of Daylight Saving. We will be adjusting our clocks back one hour at 2 am. That brings daylight an hour earlier in the mornings (maybe 7 am instead of 8 am) but it also brings darkness an hour earlier in the evening. It kind of sucks for the evenings really. We do get an extra hour of sleep on Saturday night though. It is hard to complain about that. I remember working 12 hour night shifts and having to do 13 hours on this night. It seemed like forever.
Coffee House Enjoy an old-fashioned coffee house event with live music and bottomless beverages (coffee, tea or juice plus goodies).
