Prep Chronicle YOUR ESSENTIAL ROUND-UP FOR THE WEEK COMMENCING 4 MAY 2026 Message from the Head of Prep This week marked the conclusion of our Come and See events, with Year 5 parents joining us to sit alongside their children and admire the hard work they have been putting into their studies since September. These occasions have provided wonderful opportunities to celebrate all that the children have achieved. Year 5 have been especially busy, taking part in Maths masterclasses and a Science trip. These experiences offer valuable opportunities for pupils to extend their classroom learning and apply their understanding in new and engaging contexts. Year 1 treated us to a fantastic assembly on the theme of rainforests. The costumes were spectacular, and the children thoroughly captivated their audience with their performance. I am sure that Sir David Attenborough would have greatly enjoyed both the children’s performance and the powerful message they shared in celebration of his 100th birthday. Thank you to the staff involved in preparing the children, and to the families who were able to attend and support them. Congratulations to those who have already completed this year’s Library Reading Challenge. Please note that the deadline for completion of the Challenge is Friday 22nd May in preparation for the celebration on 2nd June. If you have any questions, do speak to our Librarian, Mrs Watkinson. Last Friday evening, we hosted a Year 11 Celebration Dinner, and the GCSE examination period has now begun. Many members of this cohort began their journey with us in Nursery, and it has been a privilege to witness their progress over the years. We wish them every success as they begin their study leave.
