Prep Chronicle YOUR ESSENTIAL ROUND-UP FOR THE WEEK COMMENCING 27 APRIL 2026 Message from the Head of Prep Our Year 4 pupils returned from their three-day residential trip full of enthusiasm, stories and smiles. The children embraced every opportunity with resilience and independence, and it was a pleasure to see how much they gained from the experience. My thanks go to the staff who accompanied them and made the trip such a success. We also thoroughly enjoyed welcoming parents to our Year 6 Come and See event, where families had the opportunity to look through the children’s books and celebrate the impressive progress and hard work on display. The pride the pupils took in sharing their learning was evident throughout the morning. Four Cranmore boys became South East Regional Champions at the Regional English Schools Primary Relay Event , and secured qualification for the National Finals - an incredible achievement. We hosted a very busy Open Morning on Thursday, welcoming a large number of visitors to explore our classrooms and enjoy our beautiful grounds. It was a pleasure to see the school so animated and for prospective families to get a sense of what makes Cranmore such a special place to grow and learn. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our Facilities team for their tremendous efforts this week. From preparing the site for the Open Morning, to maintaining the cricket fields, and setting up for this evening’s Year 11 dinner, their dedication and attention to detail is greatly appreciated. As study leave will soon begin for the Year 11 cohort, thank you in advance for your support in moving around the Sports Hall while it plays host to GCSE examinations. Exam timetables for Years 4, 5 and 6 are now live on the VLE, and pupils will soon begin focusing on preparations for their own summer assessments. With the recent improvement in the weather, please do remember the importance of applying suncream before school, and ensuring children bring sun hats and water bottles each day. I wish you all a very happy and restful Bank Holiday weekend.
