Very proud of our Year 9 footballers this week who competed in the Manchester United Foundation Academy tournament against other schools across the North West. Some amazing performances - you did us proud.
Some of our Year 11 students also took part in another wonderful event with the Manchester United Foundation this week. All will be revealed in next week‘s round up… watch this space!

Very proud of this week’s star students across all five year groups as selected by the Head of Year and Wellbeing Lead.
These students demonstrated excellent effort, standards, spirit and achievement last week and were chosen out of around 200 other students in their year group!
Keep it up! Well done to all.
Our
In Year 1, we have been learning about people who work in our local area and the names of the different jobs they do. We had some staff from our school to come and visit us in Year 1 to tell us about their jobs at Essa Primary. The children were very intrigued and asked many questions about their roles!
In Maths we have been busy understanding the place value of tens and ones. We can now partition any two-digit numbers!
In Year 4 we have been applying our knowledge of different jumps to the vault.
We learnt all about how to get onto the vault and how to land safely.
We have had so much fun.
Coding fun planning a traffic algorithm. We planned, made a sequence and programmed a simulation in 2code. The pupils had to drag objects into place then work on sequence for example using a timer. Adapt sequences due to scenario. Fantastic work Year 5.
In Year 6, most of our pupils have had the opportunity to develop their bicycle riding skills and develop their understanding of how to ride safely on the road. The children have developed their glide, control, pedalling and awareness of surroundings whilst on their bike, in Level 1.
In Level 2, the children learnt how to start and stop, pass stationary vehicles and to understand, negotiate and share the road. We are incredibly proud of the determination and effort all of Year 6 put into these lessons.
