2022. aasta Rapla ralli teisel võistluspäeval sõitsid Martin Leemets ja Andres Lichtfeldt draamatilisel moel rajalt välja, paiskudes võistlusautoga vastu puud. Nii auto kui puu said viga, kuid sõitjad jäid õnneks terveks.

Flying High

On the second day of the Rapla Rally 2022, Martin Leemets and Andres Lichtfeldt drove off the road in a dramatic way, flinging their race truck into a tree. Both the car and the tree were damaged, but the drivers were fortunately unhurt.

Aerumaraton

Kevade hakul asus enam kui 2000 osalejat Võhandu maratoni 100 kilomeetri pikkusele distantsile. Fotol on kujutatud kanuud ja kajakid, mis pidid ühisstardist teele asumise järel tegema ringi Tamula järvel.

Paddling Marathon

At the beginning of spring, more than 2000 participants set off for the 100-kilometre Võhandu Marathon. The photo shows the canoes and kayaks that had to circle Lake Tamula after setting off from the mass start.

Rallisõitjad Ott Tänak ja Martin Järveoja koos Hyundai meeskonna liikmetega tähistavad võitu Sardiinia MM-rallil 2022. aasta juunis. Sardiinia MMrallil on kombeks, et võitjad hüppavad poodiumilt otse Vahemerre. Pärast keerulist hooaja esimest poolt oli Sardiinias saavutatud esikoht Tänaku ja Järveoja jaoks magus. Nagu fotolt näha, nautis kogu meeskond edu täiel rinnal.

A Splash Of Joy

At the Sardinian WRC Rally, it is customary for the winners to jump from the podium directly into the Mediterranean. After a difficult first half of the season, the first place in Sardinia was a true treat for Tänak and Järveoja. As you can see from the photo, the whole team enjoyed the success thoroughly.

In the main event of the King of Kings combat sports competition, the European Bantamweight champion belt was up for grabs. Markko Moisar avenged the loss from four years ago against the Norwegian Simon Santana in the same way he went down back then - by knockout.

Pisut rohkem kui kaks ja pool aastat tagasi MMil odaviskes hõbemedali võitnud, aga raskelt õlga vigastanud Eesti rekordi 90,61 meetrit omanik Magnus Kirt on tagasi Eesti meistrivõistlustel. Kuldmedali võitis Kirt seekord 73,67 meetriga. „Eks seda starti on piinlikult kaua edasi lükatud,“ rääkis 32-aastane Kirt. „See on nii mulle kui ka kogu tiimile olnud piinarikas teekond. Samas on mõnus tagasi olla. Füüsis on olemas, nüüd tuleb viset otsida. Võtan ühe päeva korraga.“

THE ESTONIAN RECORD HOLDER IS BACK!

A little more than two and a half years ago Magnus Kirt won the silver medal in the javelin throw at the World Championships. But then the holder of the Estonian record of 90.61 metres seriously injured his shoulder. Now he finally competed at the Estonian Championships again. This time Kirt won with 73.67 metres. “This start has been postponed for an embarrassingly long time,” said the 32-year-old Kirt. “It’s been an agonising journey for me and the whole team. But it’s good to be back. The fitness is there, now it’s time to look for the throw. I’m taking it one day at a time.”

Vigursuusatajal Kelly Sildarul tuleb 2022. aasta Pekingi taliolümpiamängude pargisõidu finaali teise laskumise viimasel hüppel maandudes suusaklamber lahti ja suusk jalast. Täpselt nii nagu Big Airi võistlusel. Kuldmedaliks olnuks vaja väga head laskumist. Sildaru oli kullafavoriit ja valitses viimastel aastatel pargisõitu täielikult.

Freestyle skier Kelly Sildaru’s ski binding comes loose, and the ski slips off her foot while landing on the last jump of the second run in the slopestyle final of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Exactly like in the Big Air competition. To win the gold medal, she needed a very good run. Sildaru was the favourite to win the gold medal and completely dominated the slopestyle competitions in recent years.
