THE CITY OF PEACE AND BEAUTY Sharm El Sheikh is one of the most remarkable resort cities in the world. Geographically, it is the meeting point between Asia and Africa. It is the land where pristine nature combines with modern urban facilities, which makes it one of the most in-demand tourist attractions. Sharm El Sheikh is ranked as the fourth best diving spot in the world, according to BBC (2005). Through the past years, Sharm El Sheikh has played host to a number of international political and economic conventions. Global events such as, the Summit of Peacemakers in 1996, the Sharm El -Sheikh Summit in 2005, and the 15th Summit Conference of Heads of State and Governments of the NonAligned Movement, among others. With some of the richest marine life in the world, Sharm El Sheikh attracts both domestic and international tourists and diving enthusiasts. The beaches of Ras Mohamed Protectorate The beaches of Sharm El Sheikh are considered the most important sites in Sharm El Sheikh. Entering the protectorate of Ras Mohamed through a stone gate, you are greeted by pristine nature at its purest. Explore the depths of the sea with diving, or wander through and observe the various kinds of rare plants such as the mangrove trees, one of the rarest trees on earth, found in only four places in the world. The protectorate contains eight beaches, one of which is the Magical Lake, known for its healing properties for those who swim, and where lies the Rock of Moses at its banks. The Colored Lake is where the changing color of the waters can be seen happening seven times throughout a single day. Visitors to this lake have grown accustomed to tossing a coin into the water and making a wish. The protectorate contains 220 different species of coral reefs, and 1000 species of fish, in addition to various stone caves and some sand structures that date back millennia. Ras Mohamed houses a Hydrophiinae Park. A sea snake habitat located close to the shore, in which inhabitants can reach lengths of 80 cm.

حطام السفن الغارقة حطـام السـفن الغارقـة الموجـود فـى دول مختلفـة سـاعد علـى خلـق نـوع جديـد مـن السـياحة «سـياحة استكشـاف حطام السـفن الغارقـة» ،والتـى تعتبـر المغامـرة األكثـر إثـارة علـى اإلطلاق ،وقـد نعمـت مدينـة شـرم الشـيخ بهـذه الميـزة ،إلـى جانـب الطبيعـة ً خاصـة ،وشـواطئ السـاحرة التـى تميزهـا ً عامـة. البحـر األحمـر
Abu El Nahas The most famous hill in Sharm AlShaikh, Abu El Nahas contains the wrecks of Kimon, Olden, Chrisoula and SS Carnatic, which is considered to be the most famous wreck of all of them. Giannis D is a historically significant ship; built by the Japanese in 1969, during its journey from Croatia to Saudi Arabia it hit coral reefs and met its fateful end on the bottom of the Red Sea in the Abu El Nahas area, where it lies 30 meters below. أبوالنحاس أش ــهر تل ــة ف ــى ش ــرم الش ــيخ ،وتحت ــوى أبوالنح ــاس عل ــى حطـــام ســـفن كيمـــون وأولـــدن وكريســـوال وإس إس كارناتيــك ،والتىــد تعتبــر الحطــام األكثــر شــهرة ،وجيانيــس دى هـــى ســـفينة مهمـــة تاريخيـــا ،بناهـــا اليابانيـــون عـــام ،1969وخــال رحلتهــا مــن كرواتيــا إلــى المملكــة العربيــة الســـعودية اصطدمـــت بالشـــعاب المرجانيـــة ،والقـــت مصيره ــا ونهايته ــا ف ــى ق ــاع البح ــر األحم ــر ،ف ــى منطق ــة أبوالنح ــاس ،وتق ــع عل ــى عم ــق 30مت ـ ًـرا.
El Gharqana Located in the Nabq protected area, El Gharqana (the drowned one) is considered one of the famous diving spots. Named so after a German commercial ship called Maria Shroder collided with rocky coral reefs in 1956, causing it to split in half and sink immediately. One remaining half above the sea surface, and the other almost 24 m below the sea. With items used by the sailors on board still in their place in the top half, the wreck is a treasure trove of finds. While nature has adapted to the bottom half of the wreck below the sea, with coral reefs making new homes and forming in the shipwreck. Divers and tourists find numerous schools of glass catfish as well as the rare species of coral reefs in El Gharqana. الغرقانة تعتبـر «الغرقانـة» واحـدةً مـن مناطـق الغـوص الشـهيرة ،والتـى تقـع بمحميـة نبق-شـرم الشـيخ ،وجـاء اسـمها نتيجـة اصطـدام سـفينة تجاريـة ألمانيـة اسـمها «ماريـا شـرودر» بالشـعاب المرجانيـة المتحجـرة فـى المنطقـة عـام ،1956مـا تسـبب فـى غرقهـا علـى الفور أمام غابات شـعاب نبق ،وانقسـمت السـفينة إلى جزءين؛ جزء أعلـى البحر ،وجزء كبير ً البحـارة ،كما أن مشـهد االنقسـام متـرا .الجـزء المتبقـى مـن السـفينة فـى قـاع البحـر ،مـازال محتفظـا بـكل مـا بـه مـن األدوات التـى اسـتخدمها َّ منهـا تحـت البحـر علـى عمـق ً 24 الـذى توجـد عليـه السـفينة أشـبه بلوحـة فنيـة مرسـومة ببراعـة ،والتفاعـل المرجانـى مـع الجزء السـفلى للسـفينة جعلها ُمزينة بسلسـلة من الشـعاب المرجانية النـادرة ،حتى أنها دائمـا مـا يفضلـون الغـوص فـى منطقـة الغرقانـة لتوافـر آالف األسـماك الزجاجيـة بهـا، ومـزارا هامـا لهـواة الغـوص، أصبحـت ً ً محببـا للسـائحين .السـياح والغواصـون ً مقصـدا ً ً جـدا ،إلـى جانب شـعابها المرجانيـة النادرة. ووجـود أسـماك الماعـز الصفـراء ،وأسـماك الخفافيـش ،واألنابيـب ،وأسـماك شـبح األنابيـب النـادرة ً
دابل إس ثيستليجورم فـى أوائـل خمسـينات القـرن الماضـى ،عثـر الغـواص الفرنسـى جـاك كوسـتو علـى السـفينة «دابـل إس ثيسـتليجورم» ،SS Thistlegormوالتـى تعتبـر واحـدةً مـن أهـم مظاهـر «سـياحة استكشـاف حطـام السـفن الغارقـة» فـى شـرم الشـيخ. كانـت تلـك السـفينة قـد انطلقـت مـن جالسـكو باسـكتلندا عـام ،1941وأثنـاء الحـرب العالميـة الثانيـة ،لنقـل مجموعـة مـن المـؤن والبضائـع لقـوات الحلفاء فـى مدينـة اإلسـكندرية ،إال أنـه لـم يحالفهـا الحـظ بالوصـول إلـى وجهتهـا النهائيـة. غرقـت السـفينة ،وكان مرسـاها قـاع البحـر األحمـر ،بالقـرب مـن محميـة رأس محمـد بشـرم الشـيخ ،وكانـت السـبب فـى مولـد نـوع سـياحى جديـد بالمدينـة. القيمـة التاريخيـة لهـذا الحطـام ال تُ قـدر بثمـن ،حيـث غرقـت السـفينة بعـد 18 شـهرا مـن انطالقهـا ألول مـرة فـى أبريـل ،1940وكانـت قـد بـدأت رحلتهـا ً األخيـرة فـى 2يونيـو ،1941وتتجسـد روعـة هـذا الحطـام فـى طـول سـفينة متـرا ،ورغـم أنهـا كانـت مملوكـة شـحن الجيـش البريطانـى الغارقـة البالـغ ً 125 للقطـاع الخـاص ،فإنـه تـم تجهيزهـا بعـدد 4مدافـع مضادة للطائـرات ،ومدفع رشـاش مـن العيـار الثقيـل وقـت تحويلهـا للخدمـة الحربيـة. الغـوص فـى قـاع البحـر بيـن حطـام «ثيسـتليجورم» سـوف يتيـح لـك فرصـة الرجـوع بالزمـن إلـى حقبـة الحـرب العالميـة الثانيـة ،وبالتحديـد فـى السـاعات األولى من يوم 6أكتوبر ،1941حينما وصلت «ثيسـتليجورم» إلى مسـتقرها النهائـى بقـاع البحـر. حالـة السـفينة سـليمة إلـى حـد كبيـر ،لكـن التجـول داخـل هيكلهـا يكشـف عـن بضائـع ال تُ قـدر بثمـن ،فتـرى شـاحنات الـ«بيـد فـورد» ،والدراجـات الناريـة، بعيـدا ،كمـا والقطـار ،وسـيارات موريـس المدرعـة مازالـت محفوظـة بإحـكام ً وكثيـرا من اإلطـارات المطاطيـة والنوافذ لـو كانـت التـزال جاهـزة لالسـتخدام، ً الزجاجيـة التـى التـزال سـليمة ،بجانـب احتوائهـا علـى بنـادق إنفيلـد ،وصناديـق الذخائـر والقنابـل اليدويـة ،واأللغـام المضـادة للدبابـات، فضلا عـن أكـوام ً األحذيـة المتناثـرة ،وبعـض قطـع غيـار للدبابـات والطائـرات ،ويعتبـر مـكان غرقهـا مـن أهـم مواقـع الغـوص فـى العالـم.

Bedouin tribes have lived in the Sinai desert for the past five centuries, preserving their cultural traditions, customs, and their ancestral teachings. Basically in Sinai there are eleven Bedouin and Arabian tribes, the largest are the Tarabin and the Sawarka, whereas the oldest are the Aliqat and Sawahla, known as awlad Saeed (the sons of Saeed).

A large number of youth from different backgrounds and of various nationalities from around the globe will come together to discuss topics of international interest and to propose their ideas freely. WYF is a platform where peace-loving people, who support development will attend, and where civilizations will integrate and empower youth innovation.

WORLD YOUTH UNION ON THE LAND OF PEACE Launching the Idea On April 25th, 2017, on the banks of the Suez Canal, a group of young Egyptians attending the National Youth Conference in Ismailia presented an initiative to engage in dialogue with the youth of the world. On July 24, 2017 during the National Youth Conference in Alexandria held at Bibliotheca Alexandria, the President of the Republic, H.E. President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, officially announced the launch of the World Youth Forum to be held in Sharm El Sheikh in November 2017. Inviting youth from around the world, to express their visions for the future of their countries and of the whole world. Logo Concept The WYF logo was designed to express the main idea of the forum. It consists of a triangle, representing Egypt’s rich history as embodied by the Pyramids of Giza; a rectangular map, representing international citizens of the world, civilizations and cultures; and finally a circle, a symbol of youth as the beating heart of the world, and its future leaders Participants WYF hosts a wide range of participants, including heads of state, kings and princes, international young leaders, inspiring youth role models in various fields, prominent international figures and youth groups from around the world.
Forum Topics The program includes a variety of themes that discuss global issues with a focus on the role of youth in them. Topics include terrorism, climate change, irregular migration and refugees, the contribution of young people to building and maintaining peace in conflict zones, and how to employ the potential of youth for development. Youth participants will share their vision of achieving sustainable development around the world, and will be given the opportunity to present their innovative experiences in the field of entrepreneurship. Other topics that will be delved into include arts and literature and the integration of civilizations and cultures. Model United Nations The Forum will also witness a simulation of the UN Security Council, where more than 60 young people from around the world will participate. Through their participation in this model, they will be able to practice a vivid experience of being representatives of the UN Security Council. More Events and Activities There are a number of events that are held besides the regular forum sessions, which include art and cultural shows, sports events, musical concerts, and other activities that will enable more communication and integration between youth of different cultures.

One of the World Youth Forum’s main goals is to send out a message of peace and hope, by bringing together youth from all over the world in the city of peace. In that regard, WYF participants will join H.E President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in a marathon for peace that will take place by the peace landmark, resembling one of the key messages of the forum.
Honoring Celebration His Excellency President Abdel Fatah El Sisi will be honoring a number of youth innovators and dignitaries from different countries during the closing ceremony of the forum. As a recognition to their accomplishments and exerted efforts in various fields aiming to encourage youth to more creativity and progress. In addition, the celebration aims to encouraging youth to have a positive role in their community and public life. Model United Nations
WYF-Model United Nations is a three-day international conference, taking place at the World Youth Forum, Sharm El Sheikh (Nov 4-10). Sixty delegates from all over the word will discuss and debate various issues of vital importance to the world throughout the duration of the conference. By participating in WYf-MUN, delegates will be able to gain an experience of simulating representation of a nation at the United Nations Security Council. By assuming the roles of several Member States, delegates will be able to share diverse perspectives and formulate various solutions with regards to several topics during the discussion.

THE FORUM
CAMPAIGN The film opens with a group of young people walking together happily, we see more and more people joining them and all of them are walking towards the same goal: the Pyramids of Giza. Youth from different backgrounds and diverse cultures begin ascending the Pyramids.
The aim of the campaign is to spread the message of peace through unity and solidarity, and that building our future starts from the place that has shaped our glorious past. The youth climbing the Pyramids all assist each other in climbing higher and higher. As they reach new heights, we see the exhilaration in their faces. This human wave is now growing higher and higher over the Pyramids and finally reaches the top. Youth around the Pyramids form the word “peace” with their white flags. The Egyptian Special Olympics athlete Abdel Moneim Saad El Din was with the group appearing in the promotional clip of the WYF, which was shot on location at the Pyramids. Abdel Moneim’s participation represents a growing national and presidential concern for people with special needs, who are in dire need of social integration, rights, and equality. Abdel Moneim holds the position of administrative assistant in Unify Egypt for Social Integration Institution, it has recently been ratified by Special Olympics in Washington, D.c. to manage the Egyptian Special Olympics’ program.
