What is RAS?

it is a state-level common help assessment directed by the Rajasthan Public Help Commission. The post of Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) is the second largest post after IAS. The post of RAS officer is one of the highly respected posts.

How to become RAS?

To become a RAS officer, you must clear the RAS exam conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission. If your age is between 21 to 35 years and you have passed your graduation degree then you can apply online for this exam.

The selection process

There are three stages in the selection process for the post of RAS. first, the candidate has to pass the prelims exam. After which they are called for the Mains exam.

Candidates who qualify for both prelims and mains exams are called for an interview. Those candidates who clear all these stages are finally called for document verification.

Finally, the merit list is issued by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission, in which the selected candidates are selected for the post of RAS officer. Here you are given detailed information about all the stages involved in the selection process of RAS.

Preliminary Exam

Candidates who have applied for the post of RAS have to first go through the preliminary exam. This exam is of 200 marks in which all the questions included are of objective type. The time length of the test is 3 hours. This is a qualifying nature paper that is necessary to pass.

Main Exam

All those candidates who will qualify for the preliminary exam will be called for the main exam i.e. Mains exam.

This is a descriptive type exam. In which there are a total of 4 papers. Each paper is of 200 marks. The exam duration is 3 hours to complete the Mains exam.

Candidates who are shortlisted after RAS

Mains exam are called for the final stage of the selection process i.e.

Interview. For which 100 marks have been fixed.

Interview

In which questions related to general knowledge, logical and current events, etc. are asked of the candidate. Marks are awarded on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the interview.

Finally, the commission releases a final merit list on the basis of which the selection of the candidate is done. Candidates whose name appears in the final merit list are selected on the basis of their rank in various posts of RAS.
