The Challenge

Are you ready to become real-life Germ Busters? This May, we’re going on a fun and foamy adventure to fight off those sneaky germs and stay healthy!

First, we’re rolling up our sleeves and building our very own Hand Washing Stations right at our Spots. Imagine creating a “Tippy Tap” that makes washing hands feel like a fun game every day! We’ll decorate them with bright colours and fun designs, making them the coolest handwashing stations ever!

Then, we’re going to unleash our musical talents by creating a super catchy “Germ Buster Song!”. This song will remind everyone just how important it is to wash hands the right way. You can sing about scrubbing those hands, washing away the germs, and making it a habit that’s as fun as dancing! Let’s make it the best handwashing anthem ever!

And for the final twist, we’re turning into little scientists with an exciting Germ Experiment! We’ll use some glitter or pepper to see how germs spread and watch them disappear with the power of soap and water. It’s a magical experiment that shows how we can beat those germs every time! Let’s get ready to bust the germs and stay healthy.

The Challenge

What are you to do?

Build a Handwashing Station

Create your very own hand washing station in your Spot! You can make a cool Tippy Tap using an empty plastic bottle and some string. A Tippy Tap is a simple, handsfree device used for washing hands, especially in areas without running water. With just a little soap and water, you’ll have a special place to keep your hands clean. But here’s the best part: you get to decorate it! Use bright colours, fun drawings, or even stickers to make your handwashing station look amazing and exciting to use. You can learn how to make a tippy tap here.

Germ Buster Song Creation (B2-B3 learners, Catalyst assisted)

Work together to create a fun and catchy song about the importance of washing our hands! Come up with some cool lyrics that remind us when to wash our hands, how to do it the right way, and why it’s so important. You can use your favourite tunes or rhythms to make the song easy for everyone to remember and sing along to.

Germ Experiment Exploration

Get ready for some cool experiments that will show you how germs spread and how handwashing can stop them! With the help of your Catalysts, you’ll try out fun activities like the “glitter and soap” experiment. Here’s how it works: sprinkle some glitter or powdered spice into the water, dip your finger in, and see what happens. Then, add soap to your finger and watch as the glitter or pepper moves away, just like germs! It’s a fun way to see how soap helps keep us clean.
