Bioinformatics refers to the study of collecting and analysing complex biological data such as genetic codes while Proteomics is the study of proteomes and their functions. Proteomics studies based on mass spectrometry measures and analyses the changes in biological samples. The Certi cate In Bioinformatics And Proteomics course focuses on the fundamental topics of bioinformatics and proteomics. The interdisciplinary course teaches sequence analysis, microarray expression analysis, Bayesian methods, control theory, scale-free networks, and biotechnology applications. Focusing on the current real-world example, the course also includes signal processing, network theory, machine learning, robotics for the people with computational and engineering background.

Assessment This course does not involve any written exams. Students need to answer 5 assignment questions to complete the course, the answers will be in the form of written work in pdf or word. Students can write the answers in their own time. Each answer need to be 200 words (1 Page). Once the answers are submitted, the tutor will check and assess the work.
