January 21, 2021 Calling All Volunteers: Montgomery County Community Development (MCCD) is seeking community volunteers to answer incoming phone calls about a Covid-19 related rental assistance program. This is the final outreach effort to contact clients who did not respond to previous phone calls and emails from local non-profit agencies. MCCD is mailing approximately 10,000 letters to non-responsive clients, which asks them to call our phone bank if they still need rental/mortgage/utility assistance due to Covid-19 hardships. The phone bank volunteers will be responsible for asking callers to update all of their contact information and in enter the new data into a very simple pre-filled excel spreadsheet. Training will be provided on the day the volunteer arrives for their first shift. A FAQ form will be provided to help volunteers answer common questions the callers will have. A MCCD staff member will be present at all times for guidance or technical assistance. Four volunteers are needed from 8:30am-12:30pm and four volunteers are needed from 12:30-4:30pm Monday - Friday from February 2 – February 12, 2021. Four volunteers total, per 4 hour shift. Social distancing guidelines will be required at all times. Hand sanitizer will be provided for all volunteers. Masks/Face coverings are required for each volunteer at all times. Office equipment including phones and laptops will be sanitized between uses. Volunteers will be required to sign a confidentiality disclosure agreement.
