The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing is an undergraduate healthcare course that involves the study of the care of other individuals to ensure good health. The aim of the course is to create skilled nursing and paramedical staff. The syllabus highlights important academic concepts like human anatomy, nutrition, microbiology, genetics, physiology, biochemistry, psychology, pathology, pharmacology, and diagnosis; and essential holistic values like compassion, empathy, understanding, and care towards the patients. Registration under Indian Nursing Council is mandatory to practice Nursing in India.
There are two main course options for BSc Nursing:
BSc Basic Nursing – which requires a minimum pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
BSc Post-Basic (PB) Nursing – which requires a minimum pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology; a certificate in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM); and registration as Registered Nurse Registered Midwife (RNRM) from a State Nurses Registration Council
