A BETTER WAY FORWARD

QA &

with Attorney Kena Hollingsworth

This month, we sat down with Carmel divorce attorney Kena Hollingsworth of Hollingsworth Law Group to talk about growth, alignment, and her deeply held belief that families can move through life’s most difficult transitions with dignity and compassion.

(promotional content)

Q: Over the past year, your firm has grown significantly. What has this season looked like for you?

A: It’s been a season of tremendous growth. We moved into our new office, expanded our legal team, added support staff, and welcomed additional attorneys whose experience broadens the ways we can serve families. What began as a very lean operation has become something much bigger. But what feels different isn’t just the size of the team—it’s the alignment. I’ve been in this business 25 years, and I’ve never felt better about a core group of individuals. Every person who has joined us believes in our mission. My partner, Jenna, serves as a guardian ad litem and parent coordinator, which opens up additional ways we can support children and families in highconflict situations. With the addition of Jenna, we’ve also expanded into estate planning and related services. We’re

growing, but we’re growing smarter, with intention.

Q: You’ve long said you believe family law can be handled differently. What does that mean in practice?

A: The approach begins before anything is ever filed. From the first conversation, we focus on tone, mindset and communication. Instead of “me versus you,” we try to frame it as two people working toward resolution. So often, things escalate because people react from fear. They sense something is wrong, they panic, they make knee-jerk decisions, and suddenly everyone is operating from an elevated emotional state. We work very intentionally to diffuse that from the beginning. When clients are able to set the tone early and approach their case from a place of curiosity and compassion, they maintain far more control over their lives—their time with their kids, their finances, and their

future—rather than handing those decisions to a judge who only has hours to understand the entire story.

Q: You’ve integrated divorce coaching into your firm. Why was that important to you?

A: This isn’t just a legal process. It touches every part of one’s identity. Even the person who initiates the divorce still goes through waves of emotion. I became a certified relationship coach myself because I wanted better tools to help families. Our coaches help clients regulate their nervous systems, process emotional triggers, and move through the process from a calmer, more thoughtful place. Simple tools like breathing techniques, communication strategies and reframing exercises can completely change the trajectory of a case. When people feel grounded, they negotiate differently. They parent differently. They think differently. And that has a ripple effect.

Q: What would you want someone quietly considering divorce to know?

A: The moment you begin wondering if divorce might be an option is the moment to gather information. You don’t have to file. You don’t have to make a final decision. But being informed prevents reactive choices made under pressure. And most importantly, this process does not have to be destructive.

If children are involved, you are still a family. The structure changes, but the family remains. Preserving respect and compassion matters, not just for the adults, but for what children come to believe about love and partnership. We’ve all heard horror stories. That’s what people expect. But there is another way. I believe that with my whole heart. I’ve experienced it myself. Families can move through this in a way that minimizes suffering and opens the door to something healthier on the other side. Hollingsworth Law Group is located at 230 N. Rangeline Road in Carmel. Andrea Melani, a native of Italy’s northwest coast, brings his regional roots and decade-long vision of live, in-house pasta making to Convivio’s newest Noblesville location.

PhotograPhy By Gabrielle Noël

PASTA BY DESIGN

Ten years ago, Andrea Melani set out to bring something different to central Indiana—fresh pasta made daily, in full view, at the heart of the restaurant. A decade later, that vision has grown into four thriving locations, a trusted leadership team, and a new Noblesville space where the pasta shop is no longer an idea—it’s the centerpiece.

(promotional content)

Step into Convivio’s new Noblesville location and you’re met with motion. Behind glass, semolina flour churns and gathers before being pressed through bronze dies imported directly from Italy. The extruders hum steadily as dough emerges in carefully formed shapes (long ribbons, ridged tubes and delicate stuffed parcels), each one guided by hand onto waiting trays. Just beyond the machines, a four-seat pasta bar offers diners a front-row seat to the entire process. It is immersive, intentional and unmistakably the heart of the room.

For Andrea Melani, this is not simply a design element. It is the realization of a concept he envisioned more than ten years ago. “From the beginning, I wanted a pasta shop inside the restaurant,” Melani says. “I didn’t want it hidden in the back. I wanted people to see how it’s made.”

When Convivio first opened, that approach was innovative in the Indianapolis dining scene. While pasta appeared on many menus, few restaurants were making it fresh, and none were building their identity around the act of pasta making itself. Melani invested in Italian extruder machines that mix and press semolina dough through interchangeable dies, allowing extraordinary flexibility. Instead of stocking multiple dry pasta shapes on shelves, the kitchen can produce a wide range of cuts on demand simply by changing the die.

The advantages are both practical and culinary. Fresh pasta cooks in just a few minutes, compared to the longer cook time required for dried varieties. The texture is softer and more delicate. The bronze dies create a subtly rough surface that helps sauces cling. And because the dough can be infused before it is extruded, distinct

Convivio’s leadership team plays a critical role in sustaining the brand’s daily craft. District Chef Brad Gates (favorite pasta shape: torchiette) guides culinary direction across locations, while District Manager James Ellis (favorite pasta shape: orecchiette) oversees operations, systems and training—ensuring consistency and structure behind the scenes.

In Noblesville, Executive Chef Caitlyn Nixon (favorite pasta dish: pici al fumo) leads the kitchen alongside Sous Chef Sebastian Smith (favorite pasta shape: mafalde), with General Manager Brynley Kent (favorite pasta shape: gigli) and Manager Joe Beane (favorite pasta shape: orecchiette) overseeing day-to-day operations. Together, the team upholds Convivio’s commitment to fresh, in-house pasta and a culture built on collaboration and hospitality.

flavors are built directly into the foundation of the dish.

Over the years, Convivio has produced between 20 and 30 different shapes. At any given time, 14 to 15 pasta dishes anchor the menu, supported by daily features that allow the kitchen to experiment. Some shapes are long and elegant, others short and ridged, and still others are carefully stuffed and folded. The goal has always been varietal balance—offering guests contrast in texture, structure and presentation within a single dining experience.

Melani’s personal favorite remains the pansotti, a stuffed pasta from his home region in northwest Italy. Inspired by his mother, Carla, who was also a chef, it is a dish rooted in memory and tradition. It

represents both where he came from and why he began. But if pasta tells the story of Convivio’s craft, the evolution of the company tells the rest of the story.

In the early years, Melani did everything himself—managing shifts, cooking, overseeing service and handling the operational side of the business. After a successful corporate restaurant career, he branched out with a concept centered on connection and community. Growth was fueled by relentless effort and presence.

Today, with multiple Convivio locations and the addition of Caffé Buondí in Carmel, his role has evolved. As President and CEO, Melani remains involved daily, but his focus increasingly lies in structural operations like refining systems, implementing technology, developing leadership, and ensuring that each restaurant operates with consistency and intention. “There’s a lot behind the scenes that people don’t see,” he says. “If you want to grow, you have to structure the company the right way.”

That structure allows Convivio to maintain its standards while empowering its culinary team to carry the craft forward. The pasta is still made fresh every day. The machines still hum. The philosophy remains intact. But the responsibility is shared, creating stability for the future.

No one has witnessed that evolution more closely than his wife, Danielle Newhart, now the company’s marketing director. “I watched the Convivio brand evolve and saw him build something from nothing. One thing Andrea has taught me over the years is that anything is possible if you are willing to work for it. And that he does,” she says, adding that Andrea is a doer, a helper and a hard worker. “Above all else, he’s passionate not

just about pasta and Italian culture, but more importantly, about people.”

Her words capture what guests experience in the dining room. Convivio has always been about gathering. The name itself suggests shared meals and meaningful connection. At Caffé Buondí, that same spirit greets guests in the morning with espresso, artisan pastries and thoughtfully prepared breakfasts. Across each location, warmth and hospitality remain constant.

This month’s Noblesville opening feels both celebratory and innovative. Ten years after Melani first imagined placing pasta at the center of his restaurant, that idea is finally fully expressed. The pasta shop is no longer conceptual. It is architectural, visible and alive. A decade in, Convivio is grounded in craft, strengthened by structure and still, quite literally, hands in the pasta.

Convivio’s newest location is now open at 5986 Midland Pointe Boulevard in Noblesville. Guests can also dine at Convivio in Carmel and Zionsville and begin their mornings at Caffé Buondí in Carmel. For menus, hours and more information, visit convivioindy.com and follow @convivioindy on Instagram.

FORM, FLAVOR & FRESH PASTA

The Noblesville dining room experience centers around the pasta shop, where guests can watch fresh pasta take shape throughout the day. From pansotti, a delicate stuffed pasta rooted in northwest Italy, to hand-rolled pici and twisted torchiette, each shape at Convivio tells a story. Orecchiette, meaning “little ears,” cradles sauce in its curved center, while fluted gigli captures flavor in its ruffled edges—proof that at Convivio, form is always foundational.

ToTal EvoluTion

This month, Renova Total Health opens, bringing comprehensive medical care, wellness and advanced technology together under one roof in Carmel City Center.

For Dr. Zubair Khan, medicine has never been about simply treating illness. It has always been about closing gaps in access, in time, and in the kind of personalized care patients deserve. “I’ve been practicing medicine for over a decade, and throughout that time I’ve consistently seen gaps in access to high-quality, timely, and truly personalized care,” says Khan, founder of Renova Aesthetics and now Renova Total Health, which was created to address those challenges.

What began in 2020 as Renova Aesthetics, a destination for elevated aesthetic care in Midtown, has evolved into something far more comprehensive. While aesthetics built the foundation, wellness was always woven into the brand’s DNA. Renova Aesthetics will continue serving patients at its Midtown location, maintaining its focus on advanced aesthetic treatments, while Renova Total Health opens at Carmel City Center as a strategic expansion of the brand — a physician-led, multidisciplinary model integrating Internal and Family Medicine, Gynecology, Sports and Physical Medicine, and Psychiatry under one roof.

(promotional content)

Khan describes it as one of the first true multispecialty concierge and direct care models of its kind, and a space where comprehensive medical care meets total wellness under one intentional vision. “Our model allows providers to spend meaningful time with patients, build real relationships and create highly individualized plans,” he explains. “There are no rushed visits, no fragmented care and no barriers to access.”

That philosophy extends beyond medicine and into the physical environment itself. Renova Total Health was designed to feel more like a luxury hospitality experience than a traditional clinic. Taj Mahal quartz countertops, limewash finishes and soft integrated lighting create a calming atmosphere. In the IV therapy lounge, zero-gravity massage chairs invite patients to fully relax while receiving advanced wellness therapies. From the moment you walk in, every detail is intentional. “We want the experience to feel completely different from a traditional medical office,” Khan says, adding, “We want patients to feel welcomed, valued and supported.”

Personalization remains the cornerstone. Each patient journey begins with comprehensive labs, diagnostics and a deep understanding of individual goals and lifestyle. From there, a customized roadmap may include medical management, aesthetic treatments, wellness therapies and performance optimization strategies—all evolving over time. “It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach,” Khan says. “It’s about creating a plan that grows with the patient.”

Renova is also proud to be the first BTL Academic Center in Indiana, bringing advanced technologies to the community including Emsculpt Neo, Emface, Exion, Emtone and Emsella. At the March grand opening, the team will introduce Exomind and Emfemme, expanding into mental wellness, pelvic health and regenerative treatments, further reinforcing the brand’s commitment to whole-body optimization.

But perhaps what sets Renova apart most is its standard of quality. “We’ve built a brand that people trust because we consistently deliver at a high level, both in outcomes and in experience,” Khan says. “There are very few practices in the country offering this level of comprehensive, physician-led care in a single setting.”

Positioned within Carmel City Center, steps from the Monon and surrounded by a growing wellness-forward community, Renova Total Health aims to become more than a clinic. “We want to be a long-term partner in our patients’ health journeys and an integrated part of the Carmel lifestyle,” says Khan. For Carmel residents seeking a more connected, elevated approach to health, this is not simply an expansion. It’s a total evolution.

Renova Total Health, located at 885 Monon Grn Blvd Suite 118, officially opens March 14 with a grand opening celebration featuring exclusive specials, raffles and early access to founding membership pricing. Visit renovatotalhealth.com and follow @renovatotalhealth for news and updates.

Monkee’s Makes Its Mark

The nationally recognized boutique brand has come to Indianapolis with a fresh Midwest approach.

Monkee’s of Indianapolis opens this month in River Crossing, bringing a fresh take on personal styling and elevated everyday fashion. Thoughtfully curated and warmly welcoming, it’s a boutique designed for the way local women truly live.

(promotional content)

Step inside Monkee’s of Indianapolis, where the mood is warm and inviting, and you find yourself surrounded by beautifully edited pieces that feel both current and timeless. It’s the kind of space where you’re greeted with a genuine smile, handed a thoughtful suggestion and encouraged to try something you might not have picked for yourself—in the best possible way.

Monkee’s is known for its elevated, personalized shopping experience. Rather than overwhelming shoppers with endless options, the boutique offers a carefully curated mix of distinctive brands not found everywhere else. Dresses for weddings, galas and special events hang alongside polished everyday staples. Accessories, home décor and gift items are styled with equal intention, making it just as easy to leave with the perfect hostess gift as it is with a standout new outfit. Complimentary gift wrapping and honest, oneon-one styling advice are simply part of the experience. “We offer a personalized shopping experience in a warm, welcoming space,” says co-owner Whitney Schmitt. “Our team is here

to help with honest feedback and genuine attention. We want every woman to feel confident when she walks out the door.”

As one of the first Midwest locations for the nationally recognized boutique brand, Monkee’s of Indianapolis has been thoughtfully tailored to the Circle City lifestyle. Seasonal collections reflect current trends while staying grounded in classic style, with pieces designed to move seamlessly from board meetings to benefit luncheons, from game days to evenings out. “We really wanted the store to reflect how women here live,” Whitney explains. “They’re balancing careers, community events, game days, galas and everyday life, so we’ve curated collections that work for all of it.”

Behind the boutique are two women who know something about balancing full lives. Missy Llewellyn and Whitney Schmitt, who co-own the Indianapolis location, met nearly 20 years ago as neighbors and quickly became lifelong friends. Between them, they’ve raised six daughters who grew up more like sisters than friends, a bond

that mirrors their own. With decades of combined marketing experience and prior franchise ownership, the pair saw Monkee’s as the perfect opportunity to channel their creativity and love of community into something tangible. “Opening a boutique felt like the perfect new adventure,” Missy shares. “We’ve always loved style and bringing people together. This felt like a natural way to combine both.”

Tucked inside the River Crossing Shops near The Fashion Mall at Keystone, Monkee’s of Indianapolis is poised to become a fresh destination for women seeking distinctive fashion and meaningful service.

“Beyond shopping, our boutique is a space to connect,” says Missy, adding that Monkee’s is a place where regulars and first-time visitors alike feel welcomed, known and inspired. “We’re excited to host girls’ nights, sip-and-shop events and create a place where women can laugh, make memories and feel inspired.” Several events are already planned this spring, including an afterhours birthday party, trunk shows and Mahjong classes.

Monkee’s of Indianapolis is located in the River Crossing Shops at 8659 River Crossing Blvd. Grand opening is March 12. Follow @monkeesofindianapolis on Instagram for news, events and updates.

The Art of Outdoor Living

At Pro Care Horticulture, outdoor spaces are living environments designed to evolve, surprise and endure.

With thoughtful plant selection, sculptural elements and enduring materials, Pro Care Horticulture helps homeowners create outdoor spaces that evolve beautifully from spring through every season that follows.

(promotional content)

Spring has a way of pulling us outside.

After months of muted landscapes and closed windows, even the smallest hint of green feels like an invitation. But for Lowell Rolsky, secondgeneration owner of Pro Care Horticulture, outdoor spaces aren’t simply seasonal backdrops. They are living environments designed to evolve, surprise and endure.

Rather than focusing only on what’s blooming in the moment, Lowell encourages homeowners to think about how a landscape unfolds over time. “The true test of a landscape is the test of time,” he says. That philosophy guides everything from plant selection to longterm planning. Instead of designing for a single season, Lowell layers plant material for continuous interest—bloom cycles that move from spring into summer, structure and texture that carry through fall, and architectural presence that remains striking even in winter. The goal is a landscape that never feels static, one that

offers something new to notice as the months pass.

That long view extends well beyond plantings. Artful hardscape elements (benches, structures, sculptures, outdoor kitchens, water features and carefully framed privacy screens) add dimension and purpose. “Having art and water within the landscape allows you to immerse yourself in different ways,” notes Lowell. Adding interesting elements within the landscape creates opportunities for different destinations all within the same space, making it so much more than just a yard.

Material selection plays an equally important role in longevity. Advances in decking, stone and composite products have expanded what’s possible outdoors, but not all materials age the same. At Pro Care, education is central to the process. Lowell and his team guide homeowners through the strengths, maintenance considerations and longterm value of various options, helping them invest wisely for their lifestyle and space. The emphasis is always on durability and

craftsmanship—choosing products that won’t require constant repair or replacement, and building them correctly from the start.

For Pro Care, many projects unfold in phases, allowing homeowners to create a cohesive master plan while spreading investment over time. A patio this year... lighting next...expanded plantings or a structure down the road. “You can have anything you want, as long as you can be patient,” Lowell says. Phasing allows the vision to evolve thoughtfully without sacrificing quality.

Because Pro Care operates as a true design-build firm, the same designer who develops the concept remains involved through installation. Each phase builds intentionally upon the last, ensuring continuity and preventing the piecemeal look that can result when multiple contractors interpret a project differently. It’s a collaborative process rooted in trust, communication and a shared commitment to doing things right for each unique property. And perhaps that’s what ultimately sets Pro Care

apart. For Lowell, landscape isn’t a commodity or a checklist of features. It’s an art form shaped by climate, architecture, lifestyle and time. It’s compromise and creativity. It’s listening as much as building.

As spring unfolds and homeowners begin imagining more from their outdoor spaces, the opportunity isn’t simply to add a patio or plant a few shrubs. It’s to create a landscape that invites you out, holds your interest long after the first

bloom, and grows more beautiful with every passing season. Because when done thoughtfully, outdoor living isn’t temporary. It’s enduring.

Pro Care offers end-to-end services for all outdoor living needs, including landscape, hardscape, pergolas and pools, with a single point of contact for their services to ensure the best results. Don’t LIVE in the world and DREAM…LIVE in the world of your DREAMS with the help of Pro Care Horticultural Services.
