Within our Strategic Plan HORIZONTE 2020, improving our health and safety performance forms an essential part of our company’s development. Our commitment to improvement is reinforced by Grupo Lantero’s new Health and Safety Policy published here presented along with this letter. This vital document provides our reference framework to achieve our vision: “Everyone returns home safe and healthy every day” and it reiterates our commitment and strive towards achieving the highest standards in health and safety. We must all be involved and are responsible for the health and safety of our employees and for the ultimate accomplishment of this goal. Any and all Corporate teams, plant teams and myself are available to respond to any and all of your inquiries, comments or to clarify any aspect of this letter as well as any subject or matter related to health and safety that you could consider to be important. Why do we want

a Health and Safety Policy?

Grupo Lantero considers the wellbeing and safety of people to be an essential part of its activity. We firmly believe that nothing should be done without safety and that all accidents are avoidable. To make this principle come true and for all of us to perceive its benefits we need to share it; we need for everyone to believe it and for all of us, together, to contribute to achieving it. The Health and Safety Policy is the first step. It reflects the Group’s commitment and points to the path to be followed: health and safety is part of our job. It is for our benefit and depends on us.

Avoidability We think that all accidents can be prevented. It is not a question of bad luck; they occur when a series of circumstances coincide and one of them triggers an accident. The correct way to act is to identify these causes in advance and report them, control them or eliminate them. If we act this way all accidents are preventable.

Participation Anybody can have an accident, cause an accident or prevent an accident from happening. It is an individual and shared responsibility. This is why we believe that safety needs to be tackled collectively by acknowledging and reinforcing positive actions and encouraging self-criticism to identify actions that can be improved.

Learning We have firm beliefs, but at the same time we know that we don’t know everything. And there is nothing wrong in admitting it, because people who think they know everything or who act as though they do sooner or later stop progressing, are uncovered and ultimately fail. Safety requires training, it requires observing and listening, checking and reflecting or even “unlearning” things in order to “re-learn” them.

Wellness We believe the reason for working is progress and the reason for progress is well-being. We believe in safe, healthy work environments and putting people first; thinking not just about the present but also the future.

Understanding Performance We can only improve what we can measure. To become increasingly better at Health and Safety we must continually measure our performance, establishing increasingly demanding targets to achieve our goal of Zero Accidents.

Property Protection Being excellent at safety also means protecting the company’s assets adequately. We are all responsible for taking part in managing emergencies and protecting the company’s buildings and assets to contribute to the continuity of the business.

Robust Assurance Periodically checking that our Health and Safety management system meets our real needs is essential to ensure it operates correctly. We must make the system work for us and not the other way around.

The set of actions that we develop to help us evolve towards a culture of integrated safety with our operations is called ‘ONE SAFETY’, as a reference to the way we manage Health and Safety: • One way of understanding safety with a direct, problem-solving approach. • A priority, global matter of interest integrated into all of our activities. • A unified, flexible management standard, shared by everyone and applicable at all of our facilities and even outside work. A system that all employees, from top management to plant operators must always take into account.

Our Health and Safety Policy The satisfaction of our customers as well as the motivation of our employees are the main focus of the Grupo Lantero strategy development for the upcoming years, through operating our facilities in a safe, responsible manner and providing value to our shareholders. This goal includes protecting the health and safety of our employees that are involved in our operations, our customers, suppliers and the general public. Grupo Lantero’ s Health & Safety Policy establishes the company’s commitment to work towards an accident-free, incident-free environment, with a Health & Safety culture that is based on teamwork and safety leadership. It reflects our view: “Everyone returns home safe and healthy every day”. Health & Safety is a shared responsibility; it must form part of our daily activities and be taken on by all Grupo Lantero employees and by all of the companies that work in our facilities. ALL workplace accidents and occupational diseases are preventable and there is no job that cannot be carried out safely.
