Laconmemoracióndehitoscronológicossobresalientes-comoloeselcumplirdossiglosdevida independientecomonación-nosarrastrainevitablementealaintrospecciónyalrepasodenuestras propiasnocionesdeidentidad.Hacemosunapausaparamirarnosporfueraypordentro,para re-conocernos,paraintentarentendernos,endefinitiva.Ynecesitamosdejarmarcadeesareflexión,de estenuevoentendimiento,deestanuevavisitaanuestroADNmásprofundo.Paraesoerigimos monumentosocolocamosunaplacarecordatoria:paradarfedenuestraautorreflexión. Afortunadamentelamúsicatambiénsirveparaconstruirmonumentos,sibienlanaturalezatemporal deesteartenodejaconstruccionesespacialesfijassinocatedralesdetiempoqueselevantan instantáneamentecadavezqueesamúsicasuena.Yporlotantounasinfoníatambiénpuedecumplir esamisión:monumentolíquidoquesealzacadavezqueunaorquestalainterpretayunaaudienciala goza.Existennumerososcasosenlahistoriadelamúsica;recordemosaMendelssohnysuSinfoníanº 5compuestaparalaconmemoracióndelTricentenariodelaReformaLuterana,oaShostakovichysu Sinfoníanº7comomonumentoalaresistenciadeLeningradoduranteelfamosositiodelaSegunda GuerraMundial.Peroademás,graciasaesacualidadmagníficadelamúsicacomoarteabstracto,estas sinfoníaspuedendisfrutarseensudoblecondicióndehechosartísticosautónomosydemonumentos musicalesqueinvitanencadainterpretaciónarevisitarnuestraidentidad.

Esunadelascomposicionesmásemblemáticasdelautorhastaelpresente(2016),entantocaptade maneraclaraytrasparentebuenapartedelaesenciadelespíritudesuprovincianatal-alaquerinde homenaje-atravésdellenguajesinfónico.Enefecto,alolargodesuscuatromovimientoslasinfonía pintaunverdaderofrescoorquestaldelADNtucumano:susrasgosprofundosenelbreveAdagioque sirvedeintroducción,sudesplieguedeajetreoyoptimismocotidianoensuAllegromoderato,su habilidad,supicardíaysugraciaenelScherzo,sus majestuososynostálgicospaisajesenelLargoysobretodo-sufuerza,suempuje,superseveranciaysuseddedestinoenelFinale.Todoarropado, desdeelpuntodevistaformal,enelmásestrictolenguajesinfónico,loqueconviertelaobraenuna auténticasinfoníatucumana,llamadaasumarlaCunadelaIndependenciaalrepertoriosinfónico universal.Laorquestación,asuvez,essumamentecompactayclásica,yaquesesirvedelaplantilla orquestaldelatradicióntempranabeethovenianayschubertiana,latradiciónenbogaenlosdíasdela independenciaargentina,recursousadoexprofesoporelautor.
