CEU-Central European University is an undergraduate and graduate level “crossroads” university where faculty and students from more than 100 countries come to engage in interdisciplinary education, pursue advanced scholarship, and address some of society’s most vexing problems.
CEU is accredited in the United States and Austria, and offers English-language bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs in the social sciences, the humanities, law, management and public policy. Located in Vienna, the heart of Europe, CEU has a distinct academic and intellectual focus, combining the comparative study of the region's historical, cultural, and social diversity with a global perspective on good governance, sustainable development and social transformation.
Founded in 1991 at a time when revolutionary changes were throwing off the rigid orthodoxies imposed on Central and Eastern Europe, CEU is based on the premise that human fallibility can be counterbalanced by the critical discussion of ideas and that this critical spirit can be sustained best in societies where citizens have the freedom to scrutinize competing theories and openly evaluate and change government policies.
CEU is one of the most densely international universities in the world. Its rare mix of nationalities, ethnicities, and cultures creates an ideal environment for examining such “open society” subjects as emerging democracies, transitional economies, media freedom, nationalism, human rights, and the rule of law. It also brings multifaceted perspectives to all aspects of community life.
CEU is known for excellence in teaching and research - with purpose. At the core of its mission lies a set of principles: the pursuit of truth wherever it leads, respect for the diversity of cultures and peoples, and commitment to resolve differences through debate not denial.

The family of 76 international schools are located in 31 countries and educate over 84,000 students from Pre-School through to Twelfth Grade. Nord Anglia schools are committed to providing students with the highest quality learning, enhanced through unique global experiences.
With a strong focus on internationalism and learning through collaboration, communication and creativity, all graduating students receive a High School Diploma (HSD) accredited by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and a full GPA transcript. Two thirds of these students support this by taking the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program (DP), and a third by taking the Advanced Studies Diploma Program (ASDP). These programmes are taught in English and French, and approximately half of the IB diplomas awarded are bilingual.
IBDP
The IBDP is a two-year, full-time program Full IB Diploma students take six IB courses: English, Foreign Language, Social Sciences, Sciences and Mathematics. The sixth subject may be an Arts subject, or a second choice from one of the other 5 categories. Three classes must be taken at the Higher Level (HL). Final IB examinations are conducted in May of senior year and graded externally on a scale of 1-7; with 7 being the highest. Students can also gain 3 points for theory and knowledge and extended essay and must complete a CAS programme. Universities in over 90 countries accept students with the IB each year.
To enable each student to develop her or his strengths, students following the ASDP take a mixture of formal IBDP courses, assessed by taking IB subject examinations, and other courses which are assessed internally. This process is externally validated by NEASC. Prior to preparing for the HSD, students follow the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).
The physical and mental health of students is of paramount importance at Beau Soleil. Our onsite Health Centre, Counselling Team and Learning Support Department are available to support all students and to ensure that specialist help is enlisted when it is needed. We are a diverse and inclusive school and we understand the importance of respecting and embracing the many different cultures and individual identities of our international community.
