HOSPITALITY HOSPITALITY

The EDS Association exists to serve a greater purpose: supporting the growth of each student in spirit, character, intellect, and community. Inspired by the Christian values of compassion, generosity, and service, we believe that volunteering is more than just participation it’s a mission to uplift others and make a lasting impact.

All current EDS parents, faculty, staff, and administration are members of the EDS Association. There are no membership fees just a shared commitment to contribute time, talents, and resources in ways that enrich the student experience and strengthen our school community.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, our collective efforts raised over $155,000 through campuswide events such as the Fall Festival, Wild Game Dinner, Family Night Supper, Book Fair, Original Works, Penny Drive, Spirit Nights, Olympic Day, and more. These events not only build community they help us fulfill our purpose of service.

Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, these funds helped enhance performing arts with new microphones and acoustic panels, added outdoor art displays, expanded learning in the Village garden, upgraded photography equipment, and provided resources like a lunch warmer and guest seating. We also contributed $7,700 to the school’s endowment and nearly $27,000 for curriculum support.

In past years, the Association has supported major projects such as the $40,000 renovation of the Morris Library, $20,000 in campus bathroom improvements, new branded buses with Wi-Fi and security, water fountains, performance risers, a new art kiln, and sound equipment.

Everything we do is rooted in a shared belief: when we come together in service, we create something greater than ourselves. Volunteering with the EDS Association is an opportunity to lead by example, grow in purpose, and leave a legacy of generosity for future generations.

All current EDS parents, faculty, and staff are members of the EDS Association and collaborate together to enhance the EDS experience of the students we serve. Through its fundraisers, the EDS Association funds the school “wish list,” which is developed by faculty, division heaeds and the head of school. This is an invaluable way for our parent body to help the school attain items that weren’t planned for in the school’s budget. In addition to wish list items, the EDS Association donates a portion of their funds to the Endowment and curriculum support.

FIRST NIGHT FIESTA

First Night Fiesta is a dinner welcoming new students and families to EDS, and programmed to inform, engage, and connect new families with mentors for a successful transition to the EDS community.

Families that are new to EDS are paired with current EDS families for dinner. New families are encouraged to ask questions and learn more about EDS traditions, how school year activities usually work and to tie up any loose ends before the school year begins. New students are able to meet and interact with classmates. The current EDS community welcomes new families with open arms.

When First Night Fiesta comes to a close, families leave with a sense of excitement and confidence for the school year ahead. The relationships formed during the dinner will continue to grow throughout the year, whether through continued conversations with mentor families, participation in school events, or simply engaging in the everyday rhythm of school life.

First Night Fiesta is more than just a dinner it’s a vital part of EDS’s commitment to creating a thriving, connected community where students, parents, and faculty all work together to make the school year successful. It’s a moment of new beginnings, where families are not just welcomed to EDS they are embraced as part of the community.

FALL FESTIVAL

Fall Festival at Episcopal Day School is more than just an event it’s a beloved tradition that students, parents, and faculty eagerly anticipate all year long. Known as the EDS Association’s longest-standing tradition, Fall Festival brings the entire school community together for a day of fun, nostalgia, and celebration. From classic fair games to live performances, Fall Festival is a celebration of everything that makes EDS a special place. It's also an essential fundraiser that supports various school programs and initiatives, making it a day of giving back as much as it is a day of enjoying good old-fashioned family fun.

What makes Fall Festival truly unique is the overwhelming sense of community that it fosters Every parent plays an essential role in making the festival a success, whether by volunteering for a shift on the day of the event, contributing baked goods to the Sweet Shoppe, or helping with decorations. The festival is truly a “All Hands on Deck” event, with volunteers filling a variety of roles to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Ultimately, Fall Festival represents what the EDS Association is all about: building relationships, fostering a spirit of generosity, and celebrating the joy of being together as a community.

Spirit Night

Spirit Nights at local restaurants and businesses are events organized by the EDS Association to raise money and build a sense of community. A portion of the proceeds from the event goes to the EDS Association. This provides an esasy way for our school to generate funds without requiring multiple families or students to spend extra time or effort organizing a traditional fundraiser. The EDS Association aims to hold one or two Spirit Nights in the Autumn with similar events in the Spring at various local businesses. The best way to support this fundraiser is to show up and participate!

Original Works is a unique program that allows students to turn their artwork into high-quality products, such as mugs, t-shirts, calendars, and more. Through the online ordering platform, parents can view their child’s artwork and order custom products directly from the website Each item is professionally made, with the child’s artwork printed on a variety of products that make wonderful gifts or keepsake. The best part? Every purchase helps support EDS with a portion of the proceeds going toward the fundraising efforts of the EDS Association. The program is simple, fun, and a great way to preserve your child’s artwork in a memorable way!

Our That’s Amore! Family Night Spaghetti Supper was bursting with laughter, excitement, and a true sense of community. With the hard work and creativity of our parent and staff volunteers, the lunchroom was transformed into a charming Italian eatery, filled with the irresistible scents of spaghetti, garlic bread, and tomato sauce. Families gathered around decorated tables, sharing delicious food and great conversation, all served up with smiles and plenty of heart.

The energy soared during the muchanticipated Parents vs. Students Basketball Game! Volunteers traded aprons for sneakers, hitting the court with tons of spirit and goodnatured competition. Cheers and laughter echoed through the gym as families rooted passionately for their teams.

Adding to the fun, families got a first peek at the Scholastic Book Fair, where volunteers helped students find exciting new stories to dive into making it a night of not just great food and games, but also a celebration of learning and community.

This night was a shining example of what we can accomplish when we come together. Huge thanks to every volunteer who gave their time, energy, and enthusiasm to make this event truly unforgettable!

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

There is nothing quite like the excitement of a school buzzing with readers! The Scholastic Book Fair brings joy to students and helps foster a lifelong love of books. It’s so fun to see how thrilled our students are to pick out new adventures to take home!

We’re looking for volunteers to help make this event a success. Roles vary throughout the day and into the evening during our Family Night Supper. Most positions involve helping students calculate their purchases based on the funds their parents have provided. It can be a challenge for younger students who haven’t had their personal finance lessons yet to choose just the right book within their budget, and that’s where you come in!

WILD GAME DINNER

The EDS Association is thrilled to announce the return of one of our most beloved and successful annual events—the Wild Game Dinner on Saturday, March 14 , 2026 at 6:00 P.M., held at the Walton Way Campus.

This highly anticipated evening brings our community together for a night of food, fellowship, and fun, all while supporting vital programs at EDS. Thanks to the generosity of our EDS families, grandparents, and local business sponsors, last year’s event raised over $144,000 a remarkable achievement that directly benefits our students and faculty. This year, funds raised will go toward two exciting campus improvements: Renovating and updating the teachers’ workroom to better support our dedicated faculty

Installing a permanent sound system in the gym, enhancing everything from chapel services and school performances to athletic events

WILD GAME DINNER

The Heat is On: Wild Game Cooking Competition

One of the most exciting aspects of the Wild Game Dinner is the spirited cooking competition among volunteer teams made up of EDS parents, friends, and community members. These energetic teams prepare a wide variety of wild game dishes from creative takes on venison and duck to wild boar and more vying for the coveted title of Best Taste Award.

Guests will enjoy unlimited food and drinks, sampling each team’s culinary creations while casting their votes for the fan favorite. It's a fun, delicious way to celebrate community, creativity, and a little friendly competition! In addition to the feast, guests will enjoy both a silent and live auction featuring stunning, one-of-a-kind collaborative art pieces created by local artists and each EDS grade level. You won’t want to miss your chance to take home a truly special work of art! Dress is casual, and spirits will be high so mark your calendar and join us for a night to remember.

We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our EDS community. We couldn’t do this without you!

SPRING VOLUNTEERS

SPRING VOLUNTEERS

Teacher Appreciation Week is a super fun and celebratory week because EDS has the BEST faculty! Each day we offer faculty a special treat and we'd love to have your hands and creativity in making each of our faculty members feel special! This committee plans the fun surprises, promotes the week and works with other volunteers to deliver on the fun. Teacher Appreciation Week is typically the first week of May.

On Olympic Day, students are sorted into different countries and compete in relay and team competitions. The team with the most points at the end wins the gold! Our Olympic Day committee plans and prepares the fun festivities of Olympic Day in coordination with the EDS Athletic Department and school administrators Participation begins in kindergarten through the fourth grade

EDS celebrates our 8th grade graduates AND our kindergarten students with a moving up ceremony. Both ceremonies have special traditions. If you LOVE the pomp and circumstance of special occasions and just want to help with one event, this is a great preview of what your student will get to do in their future! Each ceremony has a small reception in the church yard, weather permitting.
