As data transmission becomes ever more sophisticated, more is expected of cable installation and protection. The Jezmat System developed by Support Comms Limited provides a tough, durable solution to cable containment.

Jezmat Standard 10mm

It is no longer acceptable to run sophisticated, high speed cables in raised floor locations directly onto an uneven floor surface or to bump over the wires in a standard cable basket, as this can result in the cable’s signal being deformed. Jezmat protects cables as they run through the underfloor spaces of buildings. Made from very strong and lightweight material, Jezmat’s flat surface will protect the cables and will not compress under their load.

Modern cables are particularly sensitive to moisture: greater care is therefore required to ensure that wiring looms are watertight, as any water can affect the data transmission. Many different factors can put cables at risk from water damage: burst pipes, a defective tea machine, or even a leak in the riser shaft as the building nears completion. All of these can cause sufficient water to cause a local flood which can cause major problems if the cables are being laid directly onto the floor surface. If the cables are installed properly right at the outset, using Support Comms’ Jezmat system, they will operate effectively for many years.

Another huge advantage that Jezmat has over standard cable trays and basket is that it is quicker and easier to install. No tools or fixings required, only Jezmat adhesive tape. This allows us to reduce installation costs significantly for our clients.

The standard range of Jezmat is available 500mm wide and 10mm thick in 3 meter lengths Jezmat offers a lightweight, fire retardant, anti static cable mat, for data routes below the floor level.

The Jezmat Bridge is constructed from the standard 10mm material. It is a lightweight and easilyinstalled product which allows the Jezmat route to proceed under the floor void and cross other surfaces. This gives the data cables an uninterrupted, smooth yet resilient platform throughout the installation. A full range of customized ramps and bridges are also available.

Jezmat Tape Jezmat is joined using a 50mm width, blue, waterproof tape which allows simple and fast connection with no need for nuts and bolts.

Jezmat - Technical Specs • Manufactured from a polypropylene sheet 90% PP – 10% PE • Material is inert and therefore non-toxic, resistant to chemicals, waterproof, and stainproof • Fire retardant to Loss Prevention Certification Board LPS1207 • Flame retardant • Flame retardant to ASTM D635 • Antistatic (allows the pulling of cables across system without an electric charge) • UV stable • When used as a cable protection system below raised floor it would have a life expectancy of greater than 30 years
