Connecting the sheep industry and the general public is one mission of the Wisconsin Sheep & Wool Festival. Many of the over 7200 people that came through the gates took time to visit the newborn lamb display, where Justin Taylor, Arlington, made sure everyone got a close look at the newest arrivals. The University of WisconsinMadison Arlington Sheep Unit supplied the the sheep for the display. Photo by Dave Diestler, Director, Jefferson Fair Park.
Marlene Bell of Big Sandy, Texas, was named the grand-prize winner of the Wisconsin Sheep Breeders Cooperative’s annual photo contest. Bell, whose photograph, “What Did You Say?,” captured two side-by-side, virtually identical Horned Dorset ewe lambs, also topped the contest’s Just Lambs category.
