What’s Up at Twin Rivers Golf Club is on the rise! On April 13th, 2017 the City of Oviedo purchased the Twin Rivers Golf Club from The Golf Group. Like many area courses the golf business hasn’t been kind to the club and it has been starved for maintenance and upgrades. The City’s goals with the purchase are to preserve the club as a green space amenity for the club’s neighbors and residents of Oviedo. By improving the property to a level that matches the beauty of the surrounding community the City believes that the club has a chance to be successful. With the purchase, the City plans to make investments to the club’s infrastructure to upgrade conditions and attract local golfers to the challenging layout designed by notable course architect Joe Lee. Joe Lee has designed many of the better courses in Central Florida. In September renovations to both the bunkers and irrigation system began. The new bunkers will help playability with new drainage and new sand. Additionally, investments have been made

Alex Tannone with one of his many junior groups in new maintenance equipment and the club will get new golf carts late in 2017. As part of the purchasing process, the City leadership hired Down To Earth Inc. to manage the operations of the golf club. Down To Earth will also preside over the upgrades to both the irrigation system as well as a sand bunker renovation. Down To Earth has a great reputation in Central Florida for maintaining courses to a high level helping to attract new players as well as bring back customers from the past. Many of Down to Earth’s clients are in golf hotbed of The Villages where conditions are always at

a very high level. Down To Earth’s core belief is that you can’t turn a course around unless you improve the quality of playing conditions. The philosophy has proven true in case after case. It is our hope that we can re-establish good relationships with local businesses, UCF and anyone who puts on golf events for their cause or for their employees. Down To Earth was able to retain the vast majority of the existing staff including PGA General Manager Juli Roberts who has been a long time Central Florida Golf Professional as well as an accomplished player and teacher.
