AUTÓDROMO INTERNACIONAL DO ALGARVE

Os Campeonatos Mundiais de MOTUL FIM Superbike, Supersport e o novo Supersport 300 – juntamente com o renovado Campeonato Europeu de Superstock 1000 – continuam a etapa europeia do circuito aqui no espetacular Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. Tal como à doze meses atrás, a luta titânica para se tornar no eventual Rei de cada uma das respetivas categorias continuará num circuito que rapidamente se tornou extremamente popular entre os pilotos.

O britânico Jonathan Rea irá procurar obter três títulos seguidos, o piloto da Kawasaki continua a defender o seu Campeonato Mundial de Superbike MOTUL FIM. Se o protagonista muito simpático da Irlanda do Norte puder conquistar uma terceira coroa, tornar-se-á no segundo campeão mais bem sucedido de todos os tempos, com apenas Carl Fogarty a ter ganho mais títulos (quatro no total: 1994, 1995, 1998 e 1999) desde que o Campeonato Mundial FIM Superbike foi pela primeira vez realizado em 1988.

Se as edições passadas do Campeonato servirem de referência, estamos novamente preparados para outra excitante e emocionante temporada de corrida que contará com treze etapas e que terminará no Catar no início de novembro.

Desde a sua criação no final da década de 80, a categoria de motos de produção tem crescido constantemente durante as últimas três décadas, com todos os principais fabricantes mundiais de duas rodas a competirem neste campeonato, tendo muitos obtido sucesso neste palco famoso e apreciado a nível mundial.

Este sucesso, como é frequentemente o caso, é o resultado de um grande esforço de equipa e surge após muitos anos de trabalho árduo e boa colaboração entre todas as partes envolvidas. Com isto em mente, quero agradecer ao nosso promotor Dorna WSBK Organization, às nossas Federações Nacionais, aos nossos organizadores e voluntários, aos nossos patrocinadores, aos nossos pilotos, às nossas equipas, aos média e mais importante aos espectadores.

Vito Ippolito, Presidente FIM The MOTUL FIM Superbike, Supersport and brand new Supersport 300 World Championships – along with the rebranded European Superstock 1000 Championship – continue the European leg of the series here at the stunning Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. As per twelve months ago the titanic struggle to become the eventual King of each of the respective classes will continue at a circuit that has quickly become hugely popular among the riders.

Britain’s Jonathan Rea will look to make it three titles in a row as the Kawasaki rider continues his defence of his MOTUL FIM World Superbike Championship. If the highly likeable protagonist from Northern Ireland can clinch a third crown he will elevate himself to be the second most successful Champion of all time, with only Carl Fogarty having won more titles (four in total: 1994, 1995, 1998 and 1999) since the FIM Superbike World Championship was first run in 1988.

If past editions of the Championship are anything to judge by, we are again set for another exciting and thrilling season of racing that will take in thirteen rounds and that will end in Qatar come early November.

Ever since the initial edition in the late 1980s, this production-based motorcycle series has gone from strength to strength over the last three decades with all the World’s leading two-wheel manufacturers having competed in this championship, and many having also tasted success on this globally applauded and recognised stage.

This success, as is so often the case, is the result of a great team effort and is following many years of hard work and good collaboration between all the parties involved. With this very much in mind, I want to offer huge thanks to our promoter Dorna WorldSBK Organization, our national federations, our organisers and volunteers, our sponsors, our riders, our teams, the media and last but most importantly you the fans.

Depois de muito esforço para manter o Autódromo Internacional do Algarve na rota de mais um Campeonato do Mundo de Superbike, é com enorme prazer que voltamos a acolher mais uma ronda desta fantástica prova.

As Superbike merecem-nos um carinho muito especial, pois foi a prova inaugural e aquela que, ano após ano, face a novas exigências nos tem feito crescer.

Voltar a receber o Mundial de Superbike é sempre muito gratificante para toda a equipa, e na edição de 2017 tudo faremos para estar à altura e figurar entre os melhores organizadores, oferecendo ao público um espetáculo memorável.

World Superbike holds a very special place in our affections because it was our inaugural event and one that, year after year, has helped grow this facility.
