É com enorme prazer que a Sociedade Comercial C. Santos se volta a associar à “EDP Maratona Porto”, que, na sua 16ª edição, se prepara para obter igual número de sucessos no seu currículo.

Uma associação de longa data e que, ano após ano, tem ganho firmeza na mesma proporção que a prova organizada pela RunPorto se tem solidificado e afirmado como uma das melhores e mais importantes provas de Running disputadas em Portugal. Mas, verdade seja dita, esta é já uma ligação que extravasa a institucional parceria patrocinador/organizador porque nos identificamos com os valores e desafios que a prova transmite, os mesmos, afinal, que sustentam a nossa a fonte de inspiração para, todos os dias, fazermos mais e melhor, desde há mais de 70 anos. Envolvem sacrifício, determinação, resiliência e ambição, mas também apuro técnico e proatividade estratégica, que nesta exigente Maratona se afirmam indispensáveis para a obtenção de um resultado gratificante, que se traduz na grande vitória de todos, com tão importante significado para o primeiro que corta a meta, como para quem “simplesmente” cruza a linha de chegada. É por tudo isto, e por valorizarmos também o desporto como saudável hábito de vida capaz de cativar também muitos colaboradores da nossa empresa (que já não dispensam a participação neste evento desportivo), que, nesta emotiva festa do Running, nos sentimos sempre “em casa”. Para esses colaboradores, como para todos os outros participantes, só nos resta desejar uma excelente prova, que una ainda mais esta grande família em que já se tornou a “16ª EDP Maratona do Porto”. It is C. Santos’s pleasure to once again be one of the sponsors of the “EDP Porto Marathon”, the 16th edition of which is taking place this year. Preparations are well under way, and it’s looking like it will follow in the footsteps of previous years, making it a huge success.

As a company, C. Santos has worked year after year to firmly establish its position, in the same way as the race organized by Runporto has established itself and ensured its standing as one of the best and most important running events in Portugal. However, if truth be told, the connection between the two goes far beyond a normal sponsor/organizer partnership, because we identify with the values and challenges of the Marathon. After all, they are the same values that have inspired us do more and better, each and every day, for over 70 years.

These values require sacrifice, determination, resilience and ambition, but also technical skill and strategic pro-activity, which are essential if runners are to complete this particularly challenging Marathon. When it comes to this race, an achievement for one is a great victory for all involved. That all-important first runner to cut the ribbon symbolizes this triumph, as do those who “simply” cross the finish line afterwards.

It’s for all those reasons, but also because we value sport as an important part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, that we feel “at home” in this running party that’s charged with emotion - not to mention that many of our employees also take part (and religiously participate in the event, year after year). We would like to wish all our employees, as well as the other participants, an excellent race, which will further unite the huge family that the “16th EDP Porto Marathon” has already become.
