To discover and enjoy the rich cultural heritage of our island, the city offers many possibilities:

Archaeological Museum of Ibiza & Formentera

The Archaeological Museum has two centers, one in Dalt Vila and another at the Puig des Molins necropolis, which offer visitors an invitation to take a “journey into death in ancient Ibiza. It is a metaphorical journey to meet Ibizans who died centuries ago. An immersion into the heart of the societies that previously inhabited the island. In short, a journey that, in addition to providing knowledge about the past, is an incentive for self-reflection and which offers elements to understand the present better.

The Archaeological Museum is the institution that preserves, researches and exhibits the historic remains of the past of Ibiza and Formentera, called Pityusic Islands by classical authors. The Museum was founded in 1907, thanks to the collection donated by the Sociedad Arqueológica Ebusitana that, since its foundation in 1903, had excavated various sites on Ibiza and Formentera (mainly the Necropolis sites of Puig des Molins, Sa Barda and Ses Torres, and the Sanctuaries of S’Illa and Es Cuieram).

At the Puig des Molins centre, you will find the Punic Necropolis and the Monographic Museum with over 3,500 hypogea, the largest and best preserved of the Phoenician- Punic period.
