Natural resources: the seagrass meadows

Ibiza provides an excellent example of the interaction between marine and coastal ecosystems. The dense seagrass meadows, a species found only in the Mediterranean sea, contains and supports the diversity of marine life. An ecosystem of great flora and fauna biodiversity, which hosts endangered species of high scientific interest.

Ses Feixes
Wetlands with a wide variety of flora and fauna. A relic of traditional Arab irrigation systems.
Natural area located at the back of Dalt Vila (literally The Upper (Old) Town), with a wide variety of flora and fauna, such as lizards and other endemic species.
Talamanca Beach
Located in the bay of Talamanca, its length of 980 meters makes it the town’s largest beach. With shallow waters and fine sands, it is well protected from the wind. Its breadth of 25 to 30 meters, allow for the presence of a raised wooden promenade, ideal for walking. Associated with the beach, and within the bathing area, there are extensive seagrass meadows, excellent indicators of water and sand quality. It also preserves part of the dune system.

Ses Figueretes Beach
The Ses Figueretes beach, located in the neighborhood of the same name, is formed by a set of small beaches interspersed with rocky areas. It could be said it is the beach par excellence of the city since you can access it from within the urban area closest to the town center and it can be reached both through public transportation and on foot.

D’en Bossa Beach
A total of 700 of the 2,700 meters of the d’en Bossa Beach belong to the city of
Ibiza. It is the area located immediately after Ses Figueretes and can be considered ideal for sunbathing and swimming. Thanks to its easy access and the wide range of services it offers, it is a perfect place for people seeking a wide sporting offer, as well as all kinds of tourist facilities.
