M argarete K ishi D iniz was born on a farm in São Paulo (Brazil). She has a Music degree and a post-graduate degree in Music Therapy. She has attended several Music Education courses, including the Orff Method in Salzburg, Austria. With over 30 years of experience as a music teacher in great and renowned schools of São Paulo, every day she reinforces her belief in the undisputed power of music on everybody’s global development, whether a child, a young person or an adult.
Note by Note, a story to read music and play the soprano flute presents a fictional narrative to give meaning and playfulness in decoding musical notes, introducing the child to musical literacy, applying this knowledge to learn an instrument, in this case, the soprano flute. King Donaldo, the Treble clef, The Fairy, Mili the cat, and many other characters introduce the musical notes and teach how to decode them on the music sheet. The book helps to teach music and it is an invitation to sound appreciation. The songs were especially composed so the child can feel integrated into an aesthetic beauty: the arrangements, melody, harmony, rhythm and musical performance enable the child to develop their technical and expressive skills.
