PERFORMANCE NOTES
This piece is suited for electronic amplification. If amplified, the performance calls for a sound technician and a subtle adaption of the amplification to the dynamic and formal content of the music. It should reinforce the dynamics or moods indicated in the score. No dynamic progressions should be made by using the mixer, only different levels of amplifications applied to different sections of the piece are called for. All extremely quiet sections should be without amp., f.ex. the beginning of the piece. “c.d.” should be performed in a quiet space (air condition turned off, no heavy traffic outside the space etc.).
The piece is written for the Zapolski Quartet, revised in 2005 for the Quartetto di Cremona, who first performed this version in 2005 at Schloß Elmau by Garmisch Partenkirchen.
