En este libro, reiteramos nuestro propósito de dar a conocer la obra de artistas procedentes de distintas latitudes. En su diversidad encontramos la huella de los países de donde proceden, pero al mismo tiempo, la presencia inequívoca de la mezcla de todos los lenguajes, porque si algo tenemos que agradecer al arte es su universalidad.

Miami, nuestro punto de encuentro, continúa igualmente su proceso de expansión y consolidación como referencia mundial en el quehacer artístico. En este paisaje de entramados distintos, queremos contribuir con la presencia de este grupo de artistas visuales procedentes de América Latina, Asia y Europa, que reflejan la diversidad y potencialidad de su cultura.

In this book, we reiterate our purpose of making known the work of artists from various latitudes. In their diversity we find the footprint of the countries from where they come, but at the same time, the unequivocal presence of the mixture of all languages, because if there is something to thank art for it is its universal quality.

Veinticuatro artistas unidos por la creación, pero distantes en su origen, penetrando las fuentes de las fuerzas vitales, la potencia de todo tiempo y espacio obteniendo la libertad para crear en su lenguaje de forma y color, en el cual expresan intuiciones complejas, cuentan qué pasa en su mente en el momento de la composición, porqué razones emplean sus materiales, qué efectos particulares les dan definiciones y dimensiones únicas. |6|

Estos artistas crean su propio orden de realidad plasmando vivencias, su mundo, emociones, sentimientos, reflejos de su historia, de su piel y de su alma, dando visibilidad a lo invisible. Así, muestran la autenticidad de sus obras, la originalidad de su expresión, el lenguaje y la comunicación, el puente entre el arte y el espectador. Desde la fotografía, pintura, escultura, collage, medios digitales y reciclaje, se han abordado la naturaleza, el drama humano, los elementos cósmicos, la creación por entero. Aquí no basta con la apariencia de las cosas, sino que van a su esencia, obras consideradas dentro de la medida armónica. Podemos intimar con las grandes líneas y gestos, manifestaciones estéticas de índole contemporánea, intentando reflejar ese yo interior de forma personal, en gran cantidad de soportes y múltiples técnicas que enmarcan la memoria haciendo parte de la historia. El sentir, el amar, el pensar, son intangibles plasmados y transmitidos en obras de arte que cobran vida cuando su observador las presencia. Estos creadores buscan despertar la conciencia con sus intervenciones, la sensibilidad que hay en cada uno de ellos es provocada por la voracidad de los acontecimientos del mundo en que vivimos,

tiempos de magnicidios y rechazos, tiempos de odios y de amores. Con su talento innato que por sus venas corre, en ocasiones rechazado, en ocasiones aplaudido, ellos quieren recordar aquello que se ha olvidado o se ha tornado invisible, entregando testimonio valioso, yendo más allá, enviando una mirada artística sobre el mundo. Tratan variedad de temas desde su perspectiva, teniendo un anhelo en común, un mundo sin fronteras. Nació en Colombia. Realizó estudios sobre Artes Plásticas, Técnicas y Expresión, así como sobre Arte y Percepción Visual en la Universidad El Bosque, en Bogotá. Tiene una licenciatura en Teoría del Arte Contemporáneo y otra en Resiliencia y Sentido de Vida de la Universidad Javeriana, en el mismo país. Graduada como abogado de la Universidad Libre de Colombia. Curadora y gestora cultural, ha desarrollado el diseño, producción y montaje de exposiciones en museos, galerías de arte y centros de arte en la Universidad Javeriana. |7|

Twenty-four artists united by their creations, yet distant in their origin, penetrating the sources of vital forces, the power of all time and space, obtaining the freedom to create in their language of form and color through which they express complex intuitions, tell what goes on in their minds when they compose, why they use their materials, what particular effects provide them with specific definitions and dimensions. |8|

These artists create their own order of reality by portraying their experiences, their world, emotions, feelings, reflections of their history, their skin and soul, making the invisible visible. This is how they show the authenticity of their works, the originality of their expression, the language, the communication, the bridge between art and the beholder.

With the inborn talent that runs through their veins, sometimes rejected, sometimes applauded, they want to remember that which has not been forgotten or has become invisible, bringing a valuable testimony, going beyond, sending an artistic gaze over the world. They deal with a variety of topics from their perspective, with a common yearning for a world without frontiers.

Through photography, painting, sculpture, collages, digital media and recycling, all elements of nature have been addressed, the human drama, the cosmic elements, the entire creation. Here, the appearance of things is not enough, it seeks their essence, works considered within a harmonic extent. We can become intimate with the large lines and gestures, contemporary aesthetic manifestations that try to reflect that inner self in a personal way, through a great number of supports and multiple techniques that frame memory, becoming part of history. To feel, to love, to think, are intangibles captured and conveyed in works of art that come alive when witnessed by their observer.

Art is the feeling of humanity and its spontaneous manifestation makes it great, art raises awareness, recreates the being, transcends pain.

These creators seek to awaken our conscience with their interventions; the sensibility in each of them is due to the voracity of the events of the world in which we live, times of assassinations and rejections, times of hate and of love.

This is how these creators express their truth. Patricia Ortega. She was born in Colombia and studied Plastic Arts, Techniques and Expression, as well as Art and Visual Perception at the Universidad El Bosque, in Bogotรก. Has a degree on Contemporary Art Theory and other on Resilience and Sense of Life from de Javeriana University, in the same country. Graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad Libre of Colombia. Curator and cultural manager, has developed the design, production and assembly of exhibitions in museums, art galleries and art centers in Javeriana University.

Ángel Almendrales El tema de la naturaleza, expresado en los ecosistemas humedales de su lugar de origen, que tienden a desaparecer, ha sido un motivo recurrente en la obra de este artista nacido en Colombia. Su trabajo, premiado muchas veces, conjuga diversas tendencias pictóricas de gran riqueza cromática y gestual. The theme of nature, expressed in the wetland ecosystems of his place of origin, which tend to disappear, has been a recurring motif in the work of this Colombian. His work, awarded many times, combines various pictorial tendencies of great chromatic and gestural richness.

DORIAN HUNG Dorian Hung “Hungerstein”, artista y diseñador español, estudió en el Instituto de Diseño de Valencia y en CICE Madrid. Su inspiración proviene de su herencia cultural y todo el arte moderno de finales de los 80 relacionados con el manga, el anime y los cómics. En 2016 fue ganador del Taiwan Digital Content Product Awards. Dorian Hung “Hungerstein”, Spanish artist and designer, he studied at the Design Institute of Valencia and CICE Madrid. EVELYN VALDIRIO Artista contemporánea polifacética: pintora, artesana del grabado, creadora de ensamblajes, y diseñadora. Nació en Caracas y estudió Sociología y Antropología en la Universidad Central de Venezuela. Valdirio terminó su Maestría en Artes Plásticas en la Universidad Católica de América. Ella vive y trabaja en Miami, Florida. Multifaceted contemporary artist: painter, printmaker, assemblage artist and designer. She was born in Caracas and studied Sociology and Anthropology at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Valdirio finished her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) at the Catholic University of America. She lives and works in Miami, Florida.

Nace en Colombia. En la obra de Irma Strauss, las composiciones se dividen en dos: una forma abstracta y otra forma figurativa que conviven representativamente en la expresión de dos puntos de vista filosóficos casi opuestos. Cada forma y textura representa una geografía natural específica, como es el caso de la colección dedicada solamente a la biodiversidad colombiana, selvas, páramos, ríos y mares, la cual constituye un rico sistema biológico y una red cognitiva amplia de la tierra. Cada árbol, planta o animal que desaparece, es como perder las neuronas que llevan al olvido y a la demencia colectiva.

Born in Colombia. In Irma Strauss’s work, the compositions are divided in two: an abstract form and another figurative form coexisting representatively in the expression of two almost opposite philosophical points of view. Each shape and texture represents a specific natural geography, as is the case of the collection dedicated only to the Colombian biodiversity, jungles, moors, rivers and seas, which constitutes a rich biological system and a broad cognitive network of the earth. Every tree, plant or animal that disappears is like losing the neurons that lead to memory loss and collective dementia. | 33 |

MAGDALY MONTENEGRO Licenciada en Arquitectura en la Universidad Central de Venezuela, obtuvo un diploma en Historia del Arte Occidental y otro en Historia del Arte en Venezuela en la Universidad Metropolitana (Caracas). Su trabajo explora la abstracción geométrica con énfasis en el color.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Central University Venezuela, she obtained a diploma in History of Western Art and another in History of Art in Venezuela at the Metropolitan University (Caracas). Her work explores Geometric Abstraction with emphasis on color.
